differin

Avatar f tn Dear doctor! How long can I use Differin (adaferin, adapalene)?
Avatar m tn I noticed in the last 4 years she been purging her food almost everynight after a meal. She suspects I know because I tried several times for her to admit it but she denies the topic.I know for a fact she still does it because I've seen her do it. ( I was spying on her which I feel bad about it, but I needed to know for my self.). I tried to ignore it for a while but it bothers me that I know her routines and I'm afraid for her. What should I do. please help.
Avatar m tn I started using Differin in May, but I now realize Differin also contains Adapalene. Should I be worried about sun exposure while using Differin/adapaline? I noticed the container says not to use it on sunburns, but nothing about not using it in the sun. I use the cream at night, but I also realize that it's a long term treatment... and as such just because I use it at night, does not mean the sensitivity is gone in the morning/day.

Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar n tn After I finished doing that, I still felt like I had to vomit, but without purging. I felt the side of my neck and my right gland was about the size of a baseball. It was painful to touch like I pulled a muscle. My husband took me to the ER to get evaluated and the doctor tried to tell me it was a dental problem. But it just happened suddenly after purging!
Avatar f tn Yes, purging disorder is defined as someone who eats a normal meal or small amount of foods and purge (vomiting, diuretics, laxatives or enemas) the food. They do not binge. Bingeing is defined as eating large quantity of foods in a short period of time to the point of being stuffed. Individuals with purging disorders often are normal or near normal weight.
712314 tn?1303098090 Now i ate for the first time over the holidays without purging. i weighed myself christmas eve, and again yesterday. Thats 32 days, in which i gained 13.5 lbs. i did eat over the holidays, but went right back to binging, purging, and restricting. So i don't understand how i gained all this weight, or how it's possible even to gain that much over such a short period of time. Thats .5lbs a day. Which seems crazy.
Avatar m tn he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
Avatar f tn Lately I've been purging after I eat, even very small healthy meals. I just can't have food in my stomach, I need it to be empty. Also having lower abdominal pain. I can't control the purging, not sure what to do.

1632818 tn?1299941302 I washed my face and slathered it with the sunscreen that is usually soothing, but it stung this time. I decided to google differin, and on their website it clearly said that differin should not be used on skin with eczma. Then I googled eczma, where it said that it is important to moisturise skin with eczma... So this contradicted the dermatologist telling me to not use my moisturiser and prescribing me differin.
Avatar m tn He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale. The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually. Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away. Please help.
Avatar f tn I was looking up on the internet and believe that I have purging disorder - where I do not need to binge to purge, i purge almost whenever I eat something I feel will make a significant difference. Still not sure if this is what I have, but it sounds the most like me. I have gone through stages of eating very little to nothing also. I am desperately scared of gaining weight, and am currently trying to lose it.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with ARFID last year and I also am autistic, have severe general anxiety as well as sensory processing disorder. I have several actual food allergies as well. However, I have a few questions about ARFID and purging. When I do eat ( and I don't eat a whole lot) I tend to purge after words and I have no idea why. I am not really afraid of gaining weight or anything.
639965 tn?1228344380 In any event, your psychiatrist is absolutely right, purging can kill you. To cease purging, therapy may not be enough. You may need a treatment program: intensive outpatient or partial hospitalization program, residential treatment center or inpatient program. Ask your psychiatrist what you may need. For more information and treatment options on anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder, you could visit the bella vita website.
Avatar n tn I don't binge, but am 50 pounds overweight and have started purging about three times a week. Will purging help me lose weight? Please don't tell me it's negative effects. So is being overweight.
673104 tn?1226858292 I have been bulimic/anorexic for over 2 years now. It started out as bulimia and only doing it every once in a while. Well i continued purging, it got worse and worse. I got to doing it everyday after eating only one meal a day! Well, i noticed that it wasnt helping a lot. So i decided to go to full anorexia. I stopped eating for about 2 months and once my therapist and family made me start eating again (after they found out i wasnt eating) i started purging again.
Avatar f tn I have been bulimic for 1.5 years, purging 3-4 times per week. Recently I learned that bulimia can trigger SVT's. I went to the ER twice in 2 months. Once it stopped on it's own and the second needed meds. I was referred to a cardiologist who wants to do an ablation (I haven't told her I'm bulimic). My question is will the SVT go away if I stop purging, if so how long would it take? Also, I had an SVT about 15 yrs ago (not bulimic).
Avatar m tn i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production, which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
Avatar n tn You mentioned that you have not had any fatigue or nausea in the past when you were not purging. Does this mean that you are still purging and having this all the time now, instead of just after you've purged? Or does it mean you've stopped purging, and this is happening? I have also been anorexic and bulimic for many years and I have had similar symptoms. I can really relate to you, and also think it would be good to see a doctor. Are you able to keep yourself hydrated?
Avatar f tn hi. my advice would be to stop purging!! It is very damaging to your internal organs and you could end up with serious problems with your stomach and insides. Also it ruins your teeth and gums! I was bulimic about 13 years ago and I am recovered now. There is a reason your getting nosebleeds and I dont exactly know what it is, but its not healthy. And it will become an addiction if it is not already. You don't even lose weight purging.
Avatar f tn Anorexia is known to cause hair loss. Hands shaking may be due to purging. To be considered bulimia there needs to be bingeing episodes and compensatory behaviors, such as, vomiting, excessive exercise, laxative abuse, etc. The following is the DSM IV TR criteria for Bulimia Nervosa, purging and nonpurging type: Recurrent episodes of binge eating characterized by both: Eating, in a discrete period of time (e.g.
762882 tn?1234493890 ve started out to be a restricting anorexic for 6 months (meaning counting calories and excercising like mad) then suddenly eats then finally turned into binging and purging habits 3 weeks consecutive in 1 month then suddenly restricts again, then somehow i've develop the feeling and "urge" to eat a lot then throws up and i've been fighting very hard everyday to control that urge thing to eat, however, if i won from that urge i would restrict myself so much and go into starv
