Differin hyperpigmentation

Common Questions and Answers about Differin hyperpigmentation

differin

Avatar m tn There are not very many big acne heads (I have benzoyl peroxide5%, Differin 3%, and Minocyclin 100 mg twice a day). These medications play a big part in my not having many big zits. Anyways, I have lots of little acne heads all over. How effective is Accutane at getting rid of these heads and keeping them off? (from your experience or from official sources) Thanks!
Avatar f tn Dear doctor! How long can I use Differin (adaferin, adapalene)?
Avatar m tn I started using Differin in May, but I now realize Differin also contains Adapalene. Should I be worried about sun exposure while using Differin/adapaline? I noticed the container says not to use it on sunburns, but nothing about not using it in the sun. I use the cream at night, but I also realize that it's a long term treatment... and as such just because I use it at night, does not mean the sensitivity is gone in the morning/day.

Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar n tn I'm ravi kumar I've same problem a black line in middle of my nose. Doctors say that this is hyperpigmentation this isn't any birth mark. But my mummy has this black line on her nose as well & her family members means my meternal family have the same problem. Doctors said it appeared due to ultrviloet rays of the sun. It can't remove completely & they were not sure that it might be reduce or might be not. I face embaracement just because of this.
Avatar n tn I've had a truly hideous sun damage/hormonal brown hyperpigmentation problem on my face for 8 years now. The worst part is that my acne, impetigo and chicken pox scars are snow white and so the total effect is terribly uneven and very, very obvious - I feel like a very ugly Smartie box. So many dermatologists, so much sunblock, so many prescribed peroxide creams and absolutely no permanent result. Temporary, minor fading is the extent of efficacy.
Avatar f tn Can prolonged bright light shined into the eye cause hyperpigmentation of the retina and the choroidal? If so does the hyperpigmentation all so effect pigmentnts in the iris?
Avatar m tn he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
1632818 tn?1299941302 I washed my face and slathered it with the sunscreen that is usually soothing, but it stung this time. I decided to google differin, and on their website it clearly said that differin should not be used on skin with eczma. Then I googled eczma, where it said that it is important to moisturise skin with eczma... So this contradicted the dermatologist telling me to not use my moisturiser and prescribing me differin.
Avatar m tn He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale. The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually. Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away. Please help.
Avatar n tn Hello, The lesion that you have described sounds like a scar with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment.Apply hydroquinone cream on this scar and it should go away in a few days to months. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion.
Avatar m tn i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production, which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
Avatar f tn Hello, First of all you should wait for pityriasis rosea to run its course and then if there are any dark scars then they have to be treated on lines of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn Hi, Hyperpigmentation Removal treatments are used to eradicate darkened areas of the skin which may result from hormones, sun damage, injuries, skin-type characteristics, medications and more. Hyperpigmentation lesions can be anything from melasma/cholasma often attributed to pregnancy or hormonal imbalances to freckles.
Avatar f tn I’ve search through the internet bc I didn’t know what to call these dark spots so I assume it’s hyperpigmentation. I’ve tried various over the counter acne washes and my doctor even prescribed me a 5% benzoyl wash, which did not even do anything. I’ve also tried home remedies like aloe Vera and putting lemon juice. I also tried lemon and honey for my hyperpigmentation but sadly it did not work. I really have bad acne scars and there’s still some active acne.
Avatar n tn ve noticed gradual hyperpigmentation right above and below the scar. The hyperpigmentation sits where the thyroid was. I asked the surgeon and a dermatologist. Either of them knew why it happened. Neither of them had seen anything like this after a thyroid surgery. Does anyone also develop hyperpigmentation around the scar? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Hello, What you are having is post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. Since none of the other things have proven useful, laser treatment is one of the best options available. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have had bad hyperpigmentation on penis since my teen years. I am 26 years old. It started developing when I hit puberty. I saw a dermatologist when I was 20 to see what I could do about it. He gave me a skin lightening cream with hydroquinione. After using this product my penis became extremely sensitive to rubbing and stretching (painfully sensitive). I am still experiencing pain from rubbing or stretching. It was extremely embarrassing to see a doctor the first time around.
