Differin doesn't work

Common Questions and Answers about Differin doesn't work

differin

Avatar m tn No need to be nervous. Antibiotics work as anti-inflammatory agents in acne, not as bacteria-killers. If you've been on the minocycline that long and you're still not clear, it does make sense to try something different. And Differin 0.3% is an excellent product, not a bad change from Retin-A, again since you're still not clear. If this regiment doesn't work, your doctor may consider some other regimen or perhaps Accutane. Best. Dr.
Avatar f tn Dear doctor! How long can I use Differin (adaferin, adapalene)?
Avatar m tn He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale. The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually. Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away. Please help.
Avatar n tn I have the exact same problem. Bactrim doesn't seem to work so far. For the oily skin, my dermatologist recommended stopping to moisturize because he thought that I was over-moisturizing and causing breakouts because of excess oil. Hope this helps. I hate acne... it's the plague.
Avatar m tn I started using Differin in May, but I now realize Differin also contains Adapalene. Should I be worried about sun exposure while using Differin/adapaline? I noticed the container says not to use it on sunburns, but nothing about not using it in the sun. I use the cream at night, but I also realize that it's a long term treatment... and as such just because I use it at night, does not mean the sensitivity is gone in the morning/day.

Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar m tn I messed with it a little bit, and the next day it had swollen up and was warm, like an infection. Since then, I have been using Abreva and Differin on it. The Differin makes the largest difference – it reduces the size significantly. When it first showed up, it looked a lot like this picture: http://www.adamjbc.f2s.com/dlc/test/Photo-0171.jpg. It no longer has a white tip, and there are two small bumps (neither red nor painful) below it.
Avatar m tn i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production, which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
Avatar f tn What does it mean if your pituitary doesn't work and how does it affect your body and thyroid lab results? I have hashi/hypo. I'm on T4 and T3 meds and my latest labs showed supressed TSH and FT3/FT4 towards the bottom of the range and I have many hypo symptoms. Goolara, I'm hoping you'll be around to answer this too as I don't understand pituitary at all at this point.
1632818 tn?1299941302 I washed my face and slathered it with the sunscreen that is usually soothing, but it stung this time. I decided to google differin, and on their website it clearly said that differin should not be used on skin with eczma. Then I googled eczma, where it said that it is important to moisturise skin with eczma... So this contradicted the dermatologist telling me to not use my moisturiser and prescribing me differin.
Avatar n tn I began to get a strange sunburn like rash around my neck only a few months ago (it has now gotten worse). It feels very systemic. It is not a typical rash. It is not raised. There are no bumps or scaliness. I posted in the thyroid forum because I am having thyroid issues and wondered if it could be related but my endocrinologist doesn't seem to think so (of course doctors are notorious for missing things that can be obvious). It's only around my neck and it's making me miserable.
Avatar n tn I recently (1 month maybe) got this interesting patch of small bumps and redness just under the outer corner of my left eye. It's about the size of a dime, and pretty much came from nowhere. It is not painful, and doesn't ooze or anything. I thought perhaps they were small clogged pores, but when pressed on, nothing came out.
Avatar m tn It is not unusual that people don't get any relief from Morphine. Most people do, but there are some of us who don't. Both of my kids and I don't get any pain relief from Morphine. We all have doctor certified documentation that Morphine does not work for us. I found out the hard way when I went to the hospital for what I thought was a very painful ulcer. Turned out I had idiopathic pancreatitis. They gave me morphine in the emergency room and it did nothing.
Avatar f tn He provided me with some antibiotics and a gel called Differin.. Which is supposed to dry out your pimples and anything else concerning the " acne".. As I used the differin I did not notice any changes in the rash.. I went back after a while and my doctor decided to give me prednison for a week.. Which did ok.. the rash disappeared only to come back less than a week after finishing the prednison treatment..
Avatar f tn The best topical lotion in my opinion is Differin. It can be as effective as topical Isotretinoin but is usually much better tolerated, with little or no redness and peeling. It is even more effective when used in conjunction with oral antibiotics. I have taken Accutane twice (20% of patients require a second course) with good results, please see my photos in my profile. I am happy to discuss any concerns you have about this drug. Eloise.
Avatar f tn Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?
Avatar f tn I’ve been using prescription strength differin gel for acne for many years, and would like to add a retinol moisturizer to my skincare routine for anti-aging benefits. Would like to know if the combination is safe?
Avatar n tn I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. He is very worried about all these pimples. He started getting them at nine. The doctor told me they aren't really acne but I forgot what he called them so I could look them up.
Avatar n tn NP suggested chiropractic work on the rib after more blood work and an abdominal CT scan to ensure that all organs were normal and healthy. March 24 - Abdominal CT, 2 blood cultures, CBC, CMP. All results normal. March 25 - Chiropractor worked on the rib and did kinesiology to look for viral infections, kidney problems, thyroid problems - everything he could think of and found nothing. Today, the fever is still around the 99.5 area and varies by a few points.
Avatar n tn The dermatologist gave me Differin Gel, and topical antibiotic cream called Benzclin, and neither of these helped. The doctor at first thought that it was Cellulitis, and put me on Bacitricin, and then Cephalexin, and neither of those helped. The hard crusty skin seems to grow underneath my cheek, and it stays there for weeks until I can't stand the pain and itching anymore? The crusty skin seems to be super glued into my cheek.
