1632818 tn?1299941302 d been prescribed differin for eczma) and bought cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra hydrating lotion and Hamilton skin therapy oil for skin with eczema. I went home and put them on my face, and then tonight I washed my face and put the lotion and oil back on again and its still really really painful and is really red. Even above my cheek bone in the soft area under my eye its red and burning, which Ive never had before. My skin is currently more painful than ever before.
Avatar f tn He provided me with some antibiotics and a gel called Differin.. Which is supposed to dry out your pimples and anything else concerning the " acne".. As I used the differin I did not notice any changes in the rash.. I went back after a while and my doctor decided to give me prednison for a week.. Which did ok.. the rash disappeared only to come back less than a week after finishing the prednison treatment..
Avatar n tn //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blister It would be best to consult a doctor if it does not resolve on its own in a few days. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar n tn Is it normal to have such a reaction and if so, how can I help this heal, and how long will it probably take? By the way, I stopped applying the Differin when I got the reaction. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Im not a doctor, however i have taken Differin and i would advise taking it constantly until the prescription runs out. Once it runs out, assess your skin- do you really need to keep taking it?? If this answer is a yes, refill the prescription and keep taking the Differin(In relation to taking it "permanently", i recommend doing this self- assessment everytime you fill the prescription, no matter how long you have been using it).
Avatar m tn he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar m tn He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale. The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually. Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away. Please help.
Avatar m tn We have seen two Dermatologists (different practices) a family doctor and an allergist to no avail. Both Dermatologists have have said its eczema but there has been no change in the condition despite their treatment. NOTHING stops the itching and its almost impossible not to scratch.
Avatar m tn i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production, which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
Avatar m tn Since I turned 25, I started getting pimples here and there. The acne worsened throughout the year into cystic acne on the cheeks when I moved overseas. I lived overseas for a year, then moved back to the states, where all my acne disappeared for two months. It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now.
Avatar f tn Me and my dad both have moderate/severe eczema since we were under the age of one, turns out we both have severe allergies. My friend has severe eczema, but claims she has no allergies. My question is : is eczema always caused by allergies?
Avatar n tn I get normal pimples tho but these come once in a while and theyre different and they start out as a small bruise and i can kind of feel a lump underneath but they stay there and manifest for longer and when they finally do pop theres alot of dark blood and pus and it always leaves a worse scar than my normal pimples. Shot in the dark if you reply but did you ever find out what it was or a solution for you?
Avatar m tn I messed with it a little bit, and the next day it had swollen up and was warm, like an infection. Since then, I have been using Abreva and Differin on it. The Differin makes the largest difference – it reduces the size significantly. When it first showed up, it looked a lot like this picture: http://www.adamjbc.f2s.com/dlc/test/Photo-0171.jpg. It no longer has a white tip, and there are two small bumps (neither red nor painful) below it.
Avatar f tn Does that mean its rare amongst people with eczema? Is it safe for people with eczema to have intercourse using a condom?
Avatar f tn Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?
Avatar n tn I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. He is very worried about all these pimples. He started getting them at nine. The doctor told me they aren't really acne but I forgot what he called them so I could look them up.
Avatar f tn I know that water in dead sea is used for psoriasis, and saltwater good in one form of eczema atopic dermatitis.
Avatar m tn My real question while I wait to test again relates to my eczema and inverse psoriasis. Since my possible HSV exposure the rashes from those two skin disorders has been worse than ever. Does anyone know if there is a link between them and HSV? They are considered autoimmune problems and are made worse by stress, so this isn't helping. And the initial eczema flareup on my legs was the worst it's ever been, which is why I asked about the HIV RNA test being confirmed negative.
Avatar f tn I turned to the internet for some information and found several fellow eczema-suffers and articles which clearly stated that steroid creams can actually cause it to become worse in the long run and is only suppressing the symptom rather than treating the cause. There's even a site for it talking about the condition and withdrawal symptoms that people go through after prolonged use of steroid creams on this site: http://itsan.
Avatar n tn I've read that eczema is some kind of disruption in the immune system and there are many treatments that reduce the immune system to get rid of the eczema. Does that mean that taking echinecha and other tablets that strengthen the immune system is bad for eczema?
Avatar f tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.
Avatar n tn I was with a woman, she was married for more than 10 years, she has been divorced for 6 month, we kissed for a while and had mutual masturbation, now I read many times in your answers this are both safe sex no risk situations, my only concern is that I have eczema on the shaft of my penis, right under the head, and she masturbated her self for a while and then she used the same hand to masturbate me, so I am sure the was some vaginal fluids on her hand, She masturbated me for no more than 30

Avatar f tn I assume it is the same stuff that itches and was called dishydrotic eczema that is on my legs and hands. But it doesn't peel. Anyway, I look forward to answering your questions as well.
