Arthrotec is a tablet containing a combination of diclofenac and misoprostol. Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain. Misoprostol reduces stomach acid and replaces protective substances in the stomach that are reduced by NSAIDs. Arthrotec is used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in people at high risk for developing stomach or intestinal ulcers.

Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage,but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.

One cause is unusual conditions in the upper and middle GI tract such as that created by misoprostol and Arthrotec (misoprostol plus diclofenac), Amongst other things, misoprostol is a smooth muscle agent which both a contact and systemic mucousagogue which coats the stomach and adjacent areas with increasing amounts of mucus. This can result in everything from even slower onset of action to intact tablets being passed with stool.

I was on the narcs first (for 6 months), added the diclofenac 6 months later so have been on that for 6 months. this past week showed me that the diclofenac is probably helping more than I thought but if you see my other posts you will see that I am having trouble tapering below 60mgs/day OC total.

Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.

i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.

Does anyone have any experience with diclofenac? If so, does it work better than over the counter antiinflammatory drugs and does upset the stomach much?

I had a nightmare experience with misoprostol prior to an IUD insertion: severe pain and vomiting. The IUD insertion was practically painless though. It has been about 4 days since the insertion and I am still feeling very faint and uncomfortably nauseous. Is this a common side effect to a small dose of misoprostol?

Please guide us in this regard.

I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.

i gave her unwanted kit present in the market(with 5 tablets, 1(mifepristone) to be used orally and rest four(misoprostol) vaginally) she used the 2(misoprostol) at ones vaginally and then took 1 mifepristone orally and rest 2(misoprostol) again orally.. after that she bleeded vaginally and her bp went low 60/80 with headache ... so plz tel me what to do.

An ultrasound revealed there was no heart beat. My doctor gave me Misoprostol on Monday and I had some bleeding and light cramping, but only passed 2 penny sized blood clots. The second day everything stopped. I had to wait 72 hours before I could take another dose. So on Thursday I tried it again. Only this time I had a little heavier bleeding, not much more and the cramps were a little worse. But everything stopped that day and I don't think everything came out the way it was supposed to.

I posted a while back that my hcg levels and ultrasound weren't matching up with my dates. My Dr insisted I must have ovulated later than I thought, but I knew it wasn't possible because of my +hpt. I had to wait another 3 weeks for another u/s and when I went there was an empty sac hardly larger than 3 weeks before. Dr gave me misoprostol to take rather than a d&c to avoid risks of scarring. I took Misoprostol 2 times. The first m/c i was 8 weeks same as you. The doctor told me the same either to do D&C or wait for it. I took the pill and i started M/c a couple of hours after taking it. I bleed for 7 days. I think you will bleed until the tissue has passed out. For me the bleeding was ok it was the pain that it was bad. If you bleed for more than 10 days then see your doctor cause probraly not all the tissue has passed. I'm sorry for your loss I have been there 3 times.

My 59 year old husband, Hep C+ diagnosed in 2007, F-4 Cirrhosis diagnosed in 2010, compensated liver (last blood work was in July, 2012, and he has never had ascites, varices, or hepatic encephalopathy), and failed three Hep C treatments in past 5 years (last failure was triple tx w/Incivek stopped treatment mid-April, 2012 due to viral breakthrough), not currently on treatment. Question: He has had pain and swelling on forearm recently.

2013 she took MTP Cipla medicine 1 tab mtpill (mifepristone) After 24 hrs she take 2 tab misoprostol. but she did not start bleeding. Sir please tell me either this medicine is on working or not. or have to take 2 misoprostol.
