diclofenac and citalopram

I tried Mobic and Nabumatone and had problems with upset stomach and headache. In addition to Fibromyalgia I also have arthritis in my spine and shoulder, so I take it for that and I can't live without it. Ibuprofen and Naproxen doesn't even touch the inflammation and pain.

I gained about 30 lbs on Citalopram. I work out and eat healthy. I just saw a new doctor and he believes the Citalopram is causing my weight gain. I have been on it for about 18 months. I am now taking half a pill of Citalopram in order to wean myself off of it. My doctor then prescribed me Bupropion HCL (take twice a day). He says that should help with weight loss. Has anyone had good experiences with Bupropion? Did you gain weight on Citalopram? Thanks!!!

Yes, I do use this medication, however my RA doc has me make it up into a cream and use it topically instead of swallowing them and risking stomach and intestinal damage. Diclofenac is a rather old, but good good antinflamatory NSAID medication that really can ruin your stomach which is why they don't prescribe it much anymore. I know it may sound strange but it works really well.

Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.

i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.

I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.

You are correct. The usual interactions suggest a decrease in levels of the other drugs taken with carbamazepine. Try searching for 'carbamazepine metabolism' and 'diclofenac metabolism'. It shows that both meds are metabolized by CYP3A4. Diclofenac may decrease levels of CYPA4 (search 'diclofenac inactivation CYP3A4); this could potentially lead to increased levels of carbamazepine.

Combining Alprax and Citalopram can cause central nervous system and respiratory depressant effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. Please discuss with your doctor for alternate medications. s inflamed tendons and prescribed Diclofenac soldium XR, an anti-inflammatory, twice a day. Wondering if this drug is safe for him to take given hepatitis and Cirrhosis. He has a call back into the PCP to double check before taking it, and I have a call in to his hepatologist to double check before taking it. Normally, blood thinners are also not used with Nsaids. So, speak with your doctor, of course, but would advise not to use these together based on the provided information.

Hi Sorry to burst your bubble but you will suffer withdrawals mine took a few weeks to kick in I came off effexor. But I know my group that Citalopram is not easy to come off you would be better going back on it and weaning off slowly follow cita's withdrawal programme my support group they are on the web.

There may be reasons why, for you, she is suspecting the Diclofenac and not the other. Give her a call and ask. Let us know what happens. Let me get this straight. You have a psychiatrist who took you off an antidepressant in just one week? And isn't dealing with the withdrawal problem? The minimum taper should have been six weeks from my experience. You also should research Buspar. See if you think it actually works much of the time. And if your anxiety is related to the heart problem, the beta blocker should theoretically at least have solved that problem.

I have had trouble too with a lot of NSAIDs and stomach upset and Diclofenac seems to be one I can tolerate and it really helps my shoulder pain. If that isn't an option, you could get a steroid shot? I have a couple of other tips: use a roller ball mouse for your computer so you are not moving your arm. You just move your thumb. It takes about a day or two to get used to, but it helps a lot.

I have red/brown freckles on my lower legs and ankles. Have been on diclofenac potassium for a year for a torn meniscus. Could that have caused those spots?

Hi I switched from Fluoxetine to Citalopram about 6 months ago as the Fluoxetine was making me gain weight. Since I've been on Citalopram I've put on even more, and am now about 2 stone (14kg) heavier than I was before I started. I don't want to come off ADs as they're helping me so much, but at the same time I don't know if I can cope with any more weight gain. Has anyone experienced weight gain with certain antidepressants then been able to lose with a different one?

Diclofenac is not an opiate and I have not seen anything indicating that it is addictive. This particular preparation is enteric coated, so it helps against stomach upset. It is part of the NSAID drug class and is an anti inflammatory. It is stronger than Aleive or Advil, so requires a prescription.

I doubt that the Citalopram is even working for you after 3 years. Muscle twitches are not a side effect of this medication, so you should consult with your doctor regarding this new symptom. You also want to wean off the Citalopram via your doctor's instructions. I'm happy to hear that therapy is helping you and wish you continued success with it.
