Avatar f tn She explained it with more detail and explained how it affects myself and my baby. She also helped me with a meal plan, a grocery list, and gave me tons of recipes. What matters is the total carbohydrates! I kept looking at the sugar... which is important too! But when I plan my meals out during the day I can only have so many carbs at one time. For breakfast I can only have 25 total carbohydrates. For snacks (you should have three snacks a day including one before bed) no more then 30.

Read up on carbohydrates and learn which foods with carbs are actually good diabetics. Hint: popcorn is not on the good list, but it is not on the "never eat list" either. Most veggies and fruits are very good carbs for diabetics. (Not all!

Avatar f tn There are a few commonly listed side effects of Seroquel, which can be found on any educational monograph included with the medication. Keep in mind that it is a general list, and again, everyone responds differently to medications, there is just no way of knowing. Again, just try not to get hung up on worrying about it. It very well may not even happen to you. Seroquel can be very effective in treating depression, and if yoiur doctor is recommending it, I say give it a shot!

Avatar n tn Hi critcrit! I am the mom of an 18 year old girl who was diagnosed at the age of 21 months. I am not a medical professional, so any information passed on to you is based solely on my personal experience in dealing with type 1 diabetes. Since she is diabetic you have to make some diet changes anyway, might as well do them all. A good salt substitute is to buy Morton's Salt Subsitute and cut it with table salt till you have an 85/15% mix. You can season soups, salt no salt peanuts, no salt popcorn etc with it.
Avatar f tn Understand which fruits are low in fructose and which ones that are way high on the do not eat list. I don't get the SloNiacin. Niacin is a B3 and is known to elevate blood sugars. It is worse after carb meanls for sure but sometimes it is any meal. I went to the ER and had an EKG which I was told was normal overall but did show a couple of PVCs. The Dr.

Avatar f tn I have diarreah, shaking, much of the pain I was taking them for (fibromyalgia, and back spasms) I am a diabetic and my blood levels are all up and down. My question is ........would taking ---one of either the soma or dilaudid --- help with the shakes, pain and potty problems, or would that just prolong the withdrawl symptoms? Thanks for any and all answers....Feels kinda funny for a grandmother of 17 to be in this shape, but I guess it takes all kinds to make up this role of an addict.
