Dha while pregnant

Common Questions and Answers about Dha while pregnant

dha

Avatar f tn Find one that contains them all, or take a separate supplement that contains the missing component. While pregnant you don't want to go without iron. You can become slightly anemic even while taking a prenatal that contains iron.
6498330 tn?1389709379 Is it safe eating canned tuna just so while pregnant?? i am craving it jusso out of the can! please respond!!!
Avatar f tn You can buy Prenatal+DHA, but regular prenatal does not have DHA in it. My doctor said DHA is very important for babies development.
Avatar f tn Ive been taking nature's made prenatal +dha they're about $26 and have 90 pills. They're high in folic acid and iron. These pills have really worked for me with headaches...i got them before i was pregnant also but i absolutely can't handle them while pregnant so my doctor suggested this to me because i didn't want to take any pain killers so its worth a shot for you:) i really hope they do help you!
Avatar f tn Do you take this yourself while pregnant? My first child nursed but had to have formula too and we used one with DHA. Good stuff!
Avatar f tn DHA is a kind of Omega 3 fatty acid (which is usually DHA+EPA) Omega 3 s are considered really beneficial for our brain and general health..and considered really good for fertility.. they're found in fatty fish or you can take them as supplements..
Avatar f tn You should be taking prenatal vitamins (they contain folic acid).
Avatar f tn Centrium prenatal- has the multi and dha. And nature valley with dha. Definitely get something with dha so important baby's brain development!
Avatar f tn Is there much difference between over the counter prenatals and prescription ones? I got a prescription from my primary Dr when I found out I was pregnant but they don't contain dha. The prenatals sold at Costco have dha. Should I take those instead?
668044 tn?1225913014 I have been taking the Enfamil DHA supplements for pregnant and nursing mothers. I think it is a good idea to take them if you aren't sure you are getting enough omega- 3 in your diet.
688450 tn?1259468734 I wanted to know the same info when I was pregnant. I was taking Prenexa prenatals (which contains 250mg DHA) vitamins along with 2 fish oil pills daily. I read that the recommended daily amount is 300mgs, but that is conflicting as you mentioned. I think I was taking about 475mgs total daily...anyway, they say the asian culture eats tons of omega 3 fatty acids primarily from fresh fish and there has been no reportings of problems...other than very bright children : ) Which I hope I have!!
Avatar f tn The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!
1123156 tn?1338863369 Lipil ....DHA supplement for pregnant women.........anyone else take these? I just want to make sure im on the right track. I'm going to see the obgyn tomorrow..........cannot wait!!!!
Avatar m tn I am with baby _ nature made + dha. Never made me sick either.
Avatar f tn So I'm kind of freaking out. Ive been taking my prenatal supplements religiousy nightly. My dr. Wasn't too concerned on the brand Id take, so I continued (doubling the dose) of these over the counter prenatals i was taking pre pregnancy. Just recently I realized that the supplements ive been tking don't contain DHA. I'm 22 weeks pregnant and freaking out that I've done harm to my Childs development.
Avatar f tn Not me!!! I've been taking prenatals since I had my first baby 10 years ago..I take them when I'm not pregnant..I'm pregnant with my 4th & will still keep taking them along with my DHA omega 3 prenatals after I have this baby because it's very important while you breastfeed.....
349463 tn?1333571576 i use naturemade with dha. these were my favorite and dha is important for brain development.
657586 tn?1224587947 I was wondering how many women are limiting or avoiding fish intake while trying to become pregnant or during pregnancy? Personally I feel the benefit outweighs the "potential" harm of eating "fish" for the brain development of babies and children. Not all "fish" are created equally so it is important to know what kinds of fish should be avoided due to possible mercury accumulation. I know this is not a professional forum.
Avatar f tn It comes with one prenatal and one gel dha pill. my advice nurse told me to stop taking the one with dha. Any suggestions why she Di does not want me taking it??
Avatar f tn Does ur prenatal vitamins have dha? Is it ok to take them tablets with dha? The one i take doesn't have it but im trying to get gummies to substitute but all gummies seem to have dha.
Avatar f tn Okay so my current prenatal vitamin does not have Dha in it...is it possible for me to take a Dha vitamin in conjunction with my prenatal vitamin?...if so what is a good brand to take?
Avatar f tn U need to chk CUZ u need iron n calcium dha also. I take cvs brand prenatal plus dha it has everything.
Avatar f tn My prenatals don't have DHA, should I switch from rainbow light?
Avatar f tn DHA is very recomended by doctors. I bought dha vitamins for pregnant women separately from my regular vitamins.
Avatar f tn So there is already some DHA in my prenatal but I went to the healthfood store and got a bottle of pure DHA vitamins I think about 700mg and started taking one of those a day. My OB says its fine to take it. Lets hope I remember to take it everyday and maybe things will improve.
