Avatar f tn I take some that my sister suggested for nausea cuz they help with the digestive system to help break down foods. I found them at target and had a pharmacy tech help me make sure they had everything I needed in th He was the knowledgeable and I bought them. In the next week and a half, my nausea was almost gone completely and after that I never had it again. They're called Rainbow Light "prenatal one" and they're actually a food based, vegan and gluten free prenatal pill.
1276890 tn?1271027818 s Oil with DHA is a completely vegan source (made with red algae) and it tastes great, not fishy! My kids and I take it in our smoothie and my husband just takes it on a spoon. It is awesome stuff. Other than that, off the top I would say avacados and nuts have good oils.
Avatar f tn Talk to your doctor. Also, go to one of the big vitamin places or look online, there are vegan vitamins.
Avatar f tn ve tried 3 different kinds of prenatal vitamins, but they all make me sick. The first ones I tried were vegan ones, but the taste and size made it hard to swallow. I tried gummies, hoping it'd be easier to keep them down, but they were still making me sick. I asked my doctor and she told me it could be the fish oil in them. I went back to vegetarian ones in liquid form, but the taste makes it hard to keep down. Do you guys have any suggestions for other ones I should try?
12426295 tn?1426875995 I take Nature Made Prenatal multi + DHA. I buy them from Costco, good price and they don't make me sick at all.
1530658 tn?1299766324 Hi huni, i am a veggie and have been for 28 years. I am not vegan as i eat dairy products but dont eat any meat, fish or poultry. I dont agree with animals being killed for food. Unfortunatley i cant really chat about raising kids as vegetarian as i dont have any yet. I have been ttc for 6 years. I had a miscarriage (natural pregnancy) and I have had 2 failed FETs. I am trying to eat heathily, drink 2-3 litres of water a day and i am taking supplements to help us ttc.
Avatar n tn d like to add is that going transitioning to vegan or vegetarian reverses any diseases you may have. It has on multiple occasions reversed cancer on patients.
Avatar f tn I am vegan (no animal products) & I take Prenatal One by Rainbow Light. I began taking them at 6wks & In my first trimester they made me very nauseous. I switched to taking them in the evenings & that helped a lot! I also take a supplement from wholefoods for DHA omega-3's that is completely fish free - it's from algae.
Avatar f tn Could be an iron deficiency due to a vegetarian diet. I have iron deficiency anaemia right now actually and one of my symptoms is shortness of breath. I've just started high strength iron supplements and have to be retested in 3 months to recheck my iron levels. "Several studies have shown that both vegetarians and vegans are prone to deficiencies in B12, calcium, iron, zinc, the long-chain fatty acids EPA & DHA, and fat-soluble vitamins like A & D.
9590250 tn?1452831684 You can get them over the counter through prescription from you doctor and pharmacy. I take nature made liquid gels with dha and omega-3. They are about 20$ for a three month supply. They are easy on tummy bc they are liquid gels not solid. I have a very sensitive tummy so they work great for me :-). And they are rated top 10 of prenatals only after a bunch of expensive organic and vegan vitamins! :-) my doctor told me they are one of the beat out there when she asked what I was taking.
Avatar f tn Does ur prenatal vitamins have dha? Is it ok to take them tablets with dha? The one i take doesn't have it but im trying to get gummies to substitute but all gummies seem to have dha.

649848 tn?1534633700 They also need iron, iodine, B12, calcium, D3, creatine, carnitine, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and taurine. If the person on a vegan diet is astute about all of those things, can find vegan alternatives for them, and is able to keep on top of fulfilling these requirements, going vegan is a very healthy way to eat, and also more morally sound than eating meat. It's just difficult for a lot of people to find all the elements needed.
Avatar f tn That's a broad question. I would say this, though, because I managed health food stores for many years -- not everyone is suited to be a vegan. And most vegans eat by ideology, not by what's healthy -- a lot of vegan food, particularly prepared food, is loaded with hydrogenated fats and sugar and other things best not eaten.
Avatar n tn Any suggestions for a healthy but filling vegan breakfast that is not too expensive?

Avatar m tn i have a sister who is vegan, but i don't feel she's getting proper nutrients. Can anyone suggest easy meals?
Avatar f tn ve found through my pregnancies that the best prenatal all around is nature made liquid gels with dha. They care highly recommended, easy to swallow, liquid gels are much easier to digest than solids which also makes them better for not causing nausea esp if your already suffering from morning sickness etc. You Can get them at any grocer in the vit dept and aren't terribly expensive about 20$ for a 3 month supply.
Avatar f tn So i visited a friend today and she looked at my prenatal vitamins that i had with me and was surprised they didn't have dha in them. She gave me some dha vitamins and recommended that i take them and continue to do so. My dr didn't mention dha. Am i alone in this?
Avatar f tn The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!
Avatar f tn So I Bought prenatal pills and they don't have dha. So when I had my 1st Dr appt at 5 weeks he said buy dha prenatal so I have been taking them.
