Talk to your pharmacist. I work in a pharmacy and they generally do not like prescription prenatals. The ones over the counter are cheaper and less likely to make you sick.
I buy the nature made brand prenatals from Costco. They're a great deal and have all the ingredients you need.
I take nature made plus DHA my midwife told me the ones they prescribe abs over the counter are the same thing minus the brand name
I am on a presciption prenatal, presciption folic acid supplement, was told to take 4 1000mg pills of fish oil daily. Fish oil is high in EPA and DHA... both aid in brain and neurological development. But, if you do take fish oil... is MUST be Norwegian salmon oil and have a statement on the label that says it has been regularly tested using AOAC protocols.

Just take gummies and an extra iron supplement its like 3 or 4 dollars a bottle for iron and the pills are extremely tiny I have low iron and I take an extra iron supplement
i don't remember my research on this fully, but i do recall that plant derived ALA's are not biologically equivalent to marine derived DHA. i take fish oil supplementation for DHA. the only concern there is impurities like mercury present in the fish oil - there are brands that make DHA capsules that have been purified for this purpose. some brands will even go as far to source their oils from the purest fish and highest standards, so that purification isn't even necessary.
If I take the one with no DHA is it ok to takr Advocare Omega Plex supplement on the side? Or should I take the vitamin with DHA and take iron on the side?

DHA is a kind of Omega 3 fatty acid (which is usually DHA+EPA)
Omega 3 s are considered really beneficial for our brain and general health..and considered really good for fertility..
they're found in fatty fish or you can take them as supplements..
My doctor is big on dha. I take preferaOB ONE they have pre/post-natal Nutritional Supplement+DHA they're pretty good but its prescribed without insure they cost $123.00 :/. They also sell milk with DHA its pretty good but expensive.
Hello and thanks for this service! Is it more beneficial to take an "omega 3 EPA & DHA fish oil supplement" or an "omega 3, 6 &9 EPA & DHA fish oil supplement"? I'm a bit confused as to which would be of the optimum benefit to purchase. Thanks for your time and expertise!
What brand of prenatal vitamins is everyone using? Im using nature made with dha. Just wondering if there is one kind of prenatals that are better than another.
You can go anywhere and get vitamins :) Walmart,target, grocery stores. I get mine at costco because my insurance doesn't really cover them. Just compare brands and you want to make sure it has DHA or buy an extra suppliment. I'm big on vitamins :) Good luck!
I had the same question. I just started OneaDay prenatal vitamins with dha and folic acid.
ve been diligent with taking my vitamins since. Has anyone else been Vitamin D deficient and had to take a supplement? If so, did baby come out healthy? Thx.
Like everyone else said they are basically the same. I would make sure they have DHA in them as well. Prescription ones have always been cheaper for me than otc ones. I'm not sure where you live, I live in the midwest and there is a store called Meijer that gives everyone free prenatals but you might have to have your Dr. call in a prescription for them though.
I take the Similac /w DHA. They used to sell them at Walmart now I can only find them at Walgreens. They are about $12.00 after you take the coupon out of the box, lol.
So i visited a friend today and she looked at my prenatal vitamins that i had with me and was surprised they didn't have dha in them. She gave me some dha vitamins and recommended that i take them and continue to do so. My dr didn't mention dha. Am i alone in this?
You're not too late. I take the gummie vitamins because all the others make me sick.
I don't think you've done any harm. If your concerned you could start taking them now or add a dha supplement to your current prenatal.
I take Neevo dha it's a prescription prenatal and it's very easy on your tummy.
