Avatar n tn I just take a prenatal multivitamin by Nature Made that has DHA in it. It's nice because it's all in one capsule. I also take an extra folic acid also by nature made.
1969424 tn?1353020641 Thank you everybody, the gummies sound good. But I just want to make sure I am getting in everything the baby(ies) need to grow strong. I hate taking pills anf right now I am taking two (prenatal and fish oil).
Avatar f tn Some women go the whole 9 months without pre natal vitamins and their babies are fine. I would definitely start taking them though and make sure there is DHA in them. I take the wal mart brand Spring Valley Pre natals but they don't have DHA in them so I have to take the same brand with DHA but make sure it says pre natal on them.
Avatar f tn I'm taking the prescription vitafol-ob+dha which is $55 and I was taking bellybar before and during the earlier part of pregnancy which has almost 2x the amount of vitamins but no dha for $13 is it safe to switch back? Is there something else that I am overlooking?
Avatar f tn Neevo DHA has the metholated folate in it that is good for women who have MTHFR gene mutations and it had the DHA in it too. It is by prescription only and is easy on your tummy.
7062279 tn?1388370086 DHA is in fish oil, and it's for baby's brain development. Some women don't like fish, or won't eat it because they're afraid of the mercury content, but the DHA in capsure form is mercury free, and has a lot of really good benefits for you and baby (if you weren't getting DHA from the pills, or from eating lots of fish, baby would just take the DHA in your body and use that, but you use it too, so you'd be in short supply).
1225070 tn?1344709174 THANKS, i found a prenatal that has dha in it, and it says for pregnant and nursing women so I am assuming that its safe!! I like Dr. OZ, I may try finding that book!!
Avatar f tn DHA is a kind of Omega 3 fatty acid (which is usually DHA+EPA) Omega 3 s are considered really beneficial for our brain and general health..and considered really good for fertility.. they're found in fatty fish or you can take them as supplements..
Avatar f tn DHA is very recomended by doctors. I bought dha vitamins for pregnant women separately from my regular vitamins.
Avatar f tn U need to chk CUZ u need iron n calcium dha also. I take cvs brand prenatal plus dha it has everything.
773801 tn?1244520679 The doctor will tell you to take prenatal vitamins and DHA which is Omega 3 which promotes healthy brain development and eyes and nervous system. What they fail to tell you that if you are taking these daily that you need to stop taking them at the end of your pregnancy because it prevents you from going into labor. Omega 3 are used to help prevent preterm labor, PMS menstral cramps in non pregnant women and relieve joint and prevent inflammation.
1123156 tn?1338863369 Lipil ....DHA supplement for pregnant women.........anyone else take these? I just want to make sure im on the right track. I'm going to see the obgyn tomorrow..........cannot wait!!!!
Avatar f tn I like the one a day gummies for women but always check with your doctor b4 taking anything even a vitamin just to be safe and he/she might prescribe you one of you ask.
Avatar f tn Okay so my current prenatal vitamin does not have Dha in it...is it possible for me to take a Dha vitamin in conjunction with my prenatal vitamin?...if so what is a good brand to take?
Avatar f tn I bought some prenatal vitamins and they came in a pack with DHA vitamins. Does anyone know what they are or if they are ok to take??
Avatar f tn Ya. DHA is good. You can take regular fish oil on the side.
Avatar f tn They're all good. Ask the pharmacist which they recommend. I take the cheaper brand, and it's just as good as the more expensive one. Some women find the prenatal pills make them feel sick, so you might have to experiment with which ones work best for you. In addition to my prenatals, I take Omega3 too, because I'm not eating all that much fish right now.
1192727 tn?1282735542 DHA is a omega fatty acid but buy it by itself in pharmacies and NOT as FISH IOL becase fish iol has ETA as well and it may affect the baby. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an omega-3 fatty acid. It is found in cold water fatty fish and fish oil supplements, along with eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Vegetarian sources of DHA come from seaweed.
Avatar f tn Does ur prenatal vitamins have dha? Is it ok to take them tablets with dha? The one i take doesn't have it but im trying to get gummies to substitute but all gummies seem to have dha.
Avatar n tn Thank you ladies I'll talk to my dr once I go to my first appointment next week. The prenatal vitamins I'm taking have I think 200mg of Dha. I read online that Dha can make you constipated and nauseous.
566175 tn?1278430472 I am looking for a good prenatal, with DHA and a stool softener. I am interested in hearing what all you girls take and any feedback. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I spoke with a pharmasist and they said whether prescribed or over the counter they all contain the same things. Some just have less fillers. I'm taking a regular multivitamin for women and a 1000 units of folic acid. Plus a extra vitamin C a day.
657586 tn?1224587947 More info should be coming out in the next week or so regarding this study as it is huge - over 25,000 pregnant women were studied for 3 years. http://www.medbroadcast.com/channel_health_news_details.asp?
Avatar f tn You can try Flintstones also.
