dha in pregnancy

I bought some prenatal vitamins and they came in a pack with DHA vitamins. Does anyone know what they are or if they are ok to take??

Okay so my current prenatal vitamin does not have Dha in it...is it possible for me to take a Dha vitamin in conjunction with my prenatal vitamin?...if so what is a good brand to take?

I dont think mine have dha in them. I take the target generic brand prenatals with this pregnancy and did with my son and he is a happy healthy almost 3 yr old. My original obgyn with my son said any prenatal is fine and my 2nd with this pregnancy agreed but when I had an appt with a midwife she told me only dha prenatals and I needed a natural brand. Who knows?!

FISH OIL has both DHA plus EPA. The lattest is not good for pregnancy but the DHA is good, so don't take fish oil as they sell it, get DHA alone. All pharmacies have it.

DHA is in fish oil, and it's for baby's brain development. Some women don't like fish, or won't eat it because they're afraid of the mercury content, but the DHA in capsure form is mercury free, and has a lot of really good benefits for you and baby (if you weren't getting DHA from the pills, or from eating lots of fish, baby would just take the DHA in your body and use that, but you use it too, so you'd be in short supply).

Take the naturemade w/ DHA. They sell that in costco. The DHA part is important for brain development. The Expecta is too pricy and the only thing added to it is the DHA which now offered also by naturemade. Good luck!

Idk what is in the pills you are talking about but if it doesnt have dha/epa i would suggest going ahead and taking actual prenatal vitamins. Dha is to help with brain development.

You can buy Prenatal+DHA, but regular prenatal does not have DHA in it. My doctor said DHA is very important for babies development.

The DHA supplements r believed 2 help brain development, but they are NOT proven 2 help anything. That's what my doctor told me. I wouldn't worry so much...DHA in prenatals is a relatively new thing...take our moms 4 instance, they didn't take DHA and we're obviously fine!!

m taking the prescription vitafol-ob+dha which is $55 and I was taking bellybar before and during the earlier part of pregnancy which has almost 2x the amount of vitamins but no dha for $13 is it safe to switch back? Is there something else that I am overlooking?

I just ran out of my prenatals, they were called Nature Made prenatal + DHA. and I was thinking about filling the prescription my doctor gave me for prenatals. But I was wondering if there was any concern in switching brands? (since they have diff doses for everything) and would the doc prescribed ones be better? Or are they basic, like not containing DHA or something?

I wanted to take a prenatal with the dha in it but I needed special prenatals for constipation. I buy special supplements during breastfeeding for brain development and after a year old I buy supplements that you put in yogurt that are for brain development. Hopefully they make up for me not taking it during pregnancy. I normally do all three if I remember.

The doctor will tell you to take prenatal vitamins and DHA which is Omega 3 which promotes healthy brain development and eyes and nervous system. What they fail to tell you that if you are taking these daily that you need to stop taking them at the end of your pregnancy because it prevents you from going into labor. Omega 3 are used to help prevent preterm labor, PMS menstral cramps in non pregnant women and relieve joint and prevent inflammation.

Does ur prenatal vitamins have dha? Is it ok to take them tablets with dha? The one i take doesn't have it but im trying to get gummies to substitute but all gummies seem to have dha.
