dha

Avatar f tn I'm taking DHA per my Dr bc he asked me was I going to breastfeed and I told him yes!
5627474 tn?1374148775 She thought it would be benificial in early pregnancy. Between the progesterone, prenatals, vitamin d, dha, asprin and calcium suppliments. Something worked. My 27 weeks now and I'm wondering if I should stop the asprin regamin now?
Avatar f tn U can do that. Most prenatal vitamins that also have dha r two separate pills anyway. I take regular omega 3 fish oil pills from vitamin shop in conjunction with my prenatals from cvs. U may want to look into dha specifically for pregnancy, but they're also way more expensive. Also check to make sure the fish oil comes from small fish like sardines or anchovy and that it doesn't contain soy. It's a lot to look into, but I hope this helps.
1192727 tn?1282735542 It is found in cold water fatty fish and fish oil supplements, along with eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Vegetarian sources of DHA come from seaweed. DHA is essential for the proper functioning of our brains as adults, and for the development of our nervous system and visual abilities during the first 6 months of life. In addition, omega-3 fatty acids are part of a healthy diet that helps lower risk of heart disease.
1166767 tn?1315427171 d be ok for you to take Duet DHA instead of Gesticare DHA. Those are the ones I take and they are great. They even have a generic which of course has the excat same thing for only $5.00. It is also prescription. You don't have to pay that much for your vitamins :) Good Luck!
Avatar f tn So I Bought prenatal pills and they don't have dha. So when I had my 1st Dr appt at 5 weeks he said buy dha prenatal so I have been taking them. I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and a few days ago I ran out so I been taking the prenatal pills without dha until I get paid. But I'm wondering is it even a big deal which pills i take since I'm out of 1st trimester?
Avatar f tn U need to chk CUZ u need iron n calcium dha also. I take cvs brand prenatal plus dha it has everything.
Avatar f tn FISH OIL has both DHA plus EPA. The lattest is not good for pregnancy but the DHA is good, so don't take fish oil as they sell it, get DHA alone. All pharmacies have it.
Avatar f tn oceans mom) ? Cause I have organic prenatal plus I take the dha vitamins. But it doesn't state it's a prenatal.
Avatar n tn What brand of prenatal vitamins is everyone using? Im using nature made with dha. Just wondering if there is one kind of prenatals that are better than another.
674725 tn?1367439630 d already started taking low dose aspirin and he okayed it. He told me to come back end of October for the rest of the results but, that I could ttc if I wanted. Okay, I know I got the green light but, now I'm paranoid - should I wait for the other results in case I need Heparin or is the baby aspirin enough for now ? I was so stressed out in the waiting room, scared I was going to get bad news. Now, I guess if I have something to work on - that's a plus right ?
Avatar f tn Wow yeah you should definitely get a prenatal. Folic acid is good, but there may be other nutrients the baby needs he may not be getting from that particular pill. If you're looking for a specific brand, I use Brainstrong, which includes DHA (good for their little brain development), but most of the major prenatal vitamins will give you what they need.
Avatar m tn That's not a high dose, but the above is correct in noting that not all fish oil is created equal.
7062279 tn?1388370086 DHA is in fish oil, and it's for baby's brain development. Some women don't like fish, or won't eat it because they're afraid of the mercury content, but the DHA in capsure form is mercury free, and has a lot of really good benefits for you and baby (if you weren't getting DHA from the pills, or from eating lots of fish, baby would just take the DHA in your body and use that, but you use it too, so you'd be in short supply).
1123156 tn?1338863369 I took a pregnancy test after being a week late and turns out im pregnant! My DF picked up "NatureMade" Multi Prenatal (High folic acid, iron and zinc.) Now he also got "Expecta" Lipil ....DHA supplement for pregnant women.........anyone else take these? I just want to make sure im on the right track. I'm going to see the obgyn tomorrow..........cannot wait!!!!
Avatar n tn Idk what is in the pills you are talking about but if it doesnt have dha/epa i would suggest going ahead and taking actual prenatal vitamins. Dha is to help with brain development.
Avatar f tn m taking the prescription vitafol-ob+dha which is $55 and I was taking bellybar before and during the earlier part of pregnancy which has almost 2x the amount of vitamins but no dha for $13 is it safe to switch back? Is there something else that I am overlooking?
Avatar f tn One of my prenatal vitamins have DHA but no iron, and the other has iron but no DHA...The one with iron has a little higher percentage of vitamin C as well...which one should I take? If I take the one with no DHA is it ok to takr Advocare Omega Plex supplement on the side? Or should I take the vitamin with DHA and take iron on the side? These have me confused!
Avatar f tn You can buy Prenatal+DHA, but regular prenatal does not have DHA in it. My doctor said DHA is very important for babies development.
Avatar f tn Plenty of folic acid, iron, some calcium though I take a supplement just in case, a good dose of DHA which is good for brain development. Pills are a little big, so if you have a lot of morning sickness might not work for you, but mine was pretty mild so I do okay getting them down with a lot of water.
