My sensitive skin has been severely dry and itch. Especially my legs,even with lotion. Anyone else experiencing this issue? & what works for you?
I'm 21 and 14 weeks 2 days pregnant with my first. I'm using nature made prenatal + dha for my vitamins and my dr had me stay with those saying they were the best. Stretch marks depend on how elastic your skin is but never hurts to use lotion early.
Get some exfoliating gloves/loafa (found in any beauty section of store-target/walmart/walgreens), scrub body when in the shower. Use scent free soap-I just use dove bar for sensitive skin. Put on a good thick lotion rt after the shower-Lubriderm, gold bond ultimate healing, aquaphor etc. stay away from soaps & lotions w scents they're more drying also. Don't take hot showers. Up Ur DHA/fish oil vitamins. Drink more water. Doing all of those things helped me. Good luck.
So i visited a friend today and she looked at my prenatal vitamins that i had with me and was surprised they didn't have dha in them. She gave me some dha vitamins and recommended that i take them and continue to do so. My dr didn't mention dha. Am i alone in this?
The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!
DHA is a kind of Omega 3 fatty acid (which is usually DHA+EPA)
Omega 3 s are considered really beneficial for our brain and general health..and considered really good for fertility..
they're found in fatty fish or you can take them as supplements..
I dont think mine have dha in them. I take the target generic brand prenatals with this pregnancy and did with my son and he is a happy healthy almost 3 yr old. My original obgyn with my son said any prenatal is fine and my 2nd with this pregnancy agreed but when I had an appt with a midwife she told me only dha prenatals and I needed a natural brand. Who knows?!
What brand of prenatal vitamins is everyone using? Im using nature made with dha. Just wondering if there is one kind of prenatals that are better than another.
The DHA supplements r believed 2 help brain development, but they are NOT proven 2 help anything. That's what my doctor told me. I wouldn't worry so much...DHA in prenatals is a relatively new thing...take our moms 4 instance, they didn't take DHA and we're obviously fine!!

5ml, epa 1.8g dha 0.9g equal to 2.7g.
Patients with documented CHD should consume about 1 g of EPA+DHA per day, preferably from fatty fish. EPA+DHA in capsule form could be considered in consultation with the physician.
3. Patients who need to lower triglycerides should consume 2 to 4 grams of EPA+DHA per day provided as capsules under a physician’s care.
