Dha in algae form

Common Questions and Answers about Dha in algae form

dha

Avatar f tn Fish oil is a much better source of DHA than algae. Algae sources of DHA are many (more often than not) times treated with bleach and hexane to remove odors etc. As you know bleach is not good but Hexane is much worse. Choosing fish sources for DHA that are highly purified or come from fish at the bottom of the food chain (smaller fish don't live as long or consume other fish which are ways of becoming toxic with heavy metals like mercury) such as sardines, anchovies, and krill.
Avatar n tn I bought Garden of life whole foods prenatal and I take Nortic Naturals algae oil for DHA.
Avatar n tn Carnosine protects against various degenerative processes in the body. DHA is the most active form of Omega-3 in the body and primarily found in animal foods. The plant form of Omega-3s, ALA, is inefficiently converted to DHA in the body. Cholesterol is important in the body and is part of every cell membrane. It is also used to make steroid hormones like testosterone. Satturated fat intake correlates with increased testosterone levels.
Avatar n tn A good one is Nordic Naturals marine algae EPA /DHA it is non gmo, and mercury free.hope this helps you!
1276890 tn?1271027818 s Oil with DHA is a completely vegan source (made with red algae) and it tastes great, not fishy! My kids and I take it in our smoothie and my husband just takes it on a spoon. It is awesome stuff. Other than that, off the top I would say avacados and nuts have good oils.
Avatar f tn I also take Garden of life raw prenatal, raw Co q 10 (our bodies produce less as we get older ),raw iron,Nordic Naturals algae omega for EPA and DHA, these things will optimize pregnancy. Help the things you can control the rest is prayer and in God's hands ! I wish you the best! It could just be implantation bleeding. I am 46 and now happy to be at 29 weeks! Praise be to God!
Avatar f tn Many things can give you brain fog. I had 2 bouts of brain fogs that lasted about 1-2 months each along with balance issues. Check your b12 levels. Otherwise you can supplement on b12 without checking as its not known to have any side effects, the chewable version. You can also take vitamin D3 and algae based DHA, that's also what i took and worked for me.
Avatar f tn I am vegan (no animal products) & I take Prenatal One by Rainbow Light. I began taking them at 6wks & In my first trimester they made me very nauseous. I switched to taking them in the evenings & that helped a lot! I also take a supplement from wholefoods for DHA omega-3's that is completely fish free - it's from algae.
7062279 tn?1388370086 re afraid of the mercury content, but the DHA in capsure form is mercury free, and has a lot of really good benefits for you and baby (if you weren't getting DHA from the pills, or from eating lots of fish, baby would just take the DHA in your body and use that, but you use it too, so you'd be in short supply). It is perfectly safe and even encouraged to help baby grow healthy. I take fish oil capsules on the side, in addition to my prenatal vitamin.
Avatar n tn Also I take Nordic Naturals Algae omega for DHA and EPA which is very important for babies brain development and in preventing post partum depression in moms. Get lots of rest. Be positive, stress is bad for you and baby! Best regards!
Avatar n tn Has natural folate instead of lab created folic acid which can be toxic to your system. Also Nordic Naturals Algae Omega for EPA AND DHA important for babies brain development! VITACOST.COM HAS these at better price than most places!
Avatar f tn Patients with documented CHD should consume about 1 g of EPA+DHA per day, preferably from fatty fish. EPA+DHA in capsule form could be considered in consultation with the physician. 3. Patients who need to lower triglycerides should consume 2 to 4 grams of EPA+DHA per day provided as capsules under a physician’s care.
Business woman1 I am 36 have not had any form of bc in last 3 years and yet me and boyfriend have yet to get pregnant we both have children so fertility hasn't been an issue. wondering if I take prenatal or dha or is dhea, would that help.
Avatar n tn It's the skeletal remains from fossilized water plants, algae-like plants it may be used as a barrier to control adult flea beetles and just about all insects. I used it as a filter medium for my swimming pool when used as a powder you must wear a dust mask. It also comes in food grade for parasites.
Avatar f tn They have really good prenatal gummies! Im.horrible at taking pills so the gummies are amazing!

871965 tn?1241833146 Not all the nutrients in the multi-vitamin are 100% available (many nutrients cross-react with each other or the form it is present in the vitamin is not 100% available) but they are still very beneficial. That is why it is important to eat GREEN leafy vegetables and fish (min 2X a week) amongst other things.....
Avatar m tn 5ml, epa 1.8g dha 0.9g equal to 2.7g.
Avatar m tn All blue green algae is is fresh water seaweed, and yes, all algae can soak up toxins, but they also do that in the body, which is a good thing. Like natural chelation. Spirulina is a front line treatment for radiation poisoning, for example. It's all complicated. Fish is full of toxins, but people who eat it are healthier than people who aren't. Seaweed is full of toxins, but the Japanese, who eat the most of it, live longer than anyone on Earth.
Avatar m tn Not sure what you mean, body metabolism. Zinc is involved in so many key physiological processes that it would be difficult to home in on just one. For example, adequate zinc is essential to a properly functioning immune system and wound healing. Physically active people with inadequate zinc intake can produce fatigue and weakening of the body by interfering with certain processes necessary for proper muscle and energy production. And this is just a start.
Avatar m tn Hi Iris~I am not too familiar with the vegetarian form of B12, I have always been under the impression that B12 is best when it is derived from sources such as liver. The one non-meat form of B12 that I DO know of and I take myself, is in the form of "Brewers yeast" Brewers Yeast has ALL the B vitamins in it, not to mention the amino acids, and the Glucose Tolerance Factor mineral, Chromium. I love how it tastes, I put it on my cottage cheese and I just love it.
Avatar f tn That happens when cholesterol oxidizes. The worst form is triglycerides, which is found mostly in our dies in the form of hydrogenated vegetable oils. The second "bad" form is LDL, found in many different fats, for example, the fat in meat, in french fries, and in many oils. The other form most of us know about is HDL, the "good" fat, found in seafood, flax seeds, hemp seeds, algae. This is good fat, but Omega 3 oils aren't the only "good" fats.
Avatar f tn I am also due October 25th, I am taking the vita fusion prenatal gummies. They taste awesome and if I make sure to take them before bedtime I don't get sick from them. I got them at Target for like 9 bucks here in WA state.
