Avatar f tn The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!

Avatar n tn You might want to look into a DHA/EPA supplement. Dr Fuhrman says most women that suffer from this related to pregnancy is due to low levels of DHA /EPA. Baby takes what they need and sometimes you are left depleted. A good one is Nordic Naturals marine algae EPA /DHA it is non gmo, and mercury free.hope this helps you!

Baby will take what it needs and sometimes this leaves the mother's supply depleted. The mother then suffers the ill effects of having low levels. I supplement with Nordic Naturals Algae Omega. Help the things you can control the rest is prayer and in God's hands ! I wish you the best! It could just be implantation bleeding. I am 46 and now happy to be at 29 weeks! Praise be to God!
Avatar m tn no it is not harmful it is a must, but the quality and concentration of epa and dha must be very high at 2-3g daily (fish oil quantity is not useful check epa/dha), most products are scam with very low dha/epa so useless.

Avatar m tn I have read a number of threads which are saying that fish oil with high levels of EPA and DHA can help to reverse liver fibrosis if there is no further liver injury occuring. Is this correct? I have found locally a fish oil liquid that has 968 mg of EPA and 878 mg of DHA per 10ml serving. Would this be enough because it recommends only 10 ml per day? By the way it also states on the box that a) it is made to Pharma GMP standards and b) it uses opti-pure purification process.

Avatar n tn I answered on your other post, but do want to say none of the brands you're taking are the best quality. You want fish oil sourced from clean fish. Buying bargain brands can be problematic with supplements.

Is there any opinion of whether all EPA/DHA or EPA only is more effective. I have been taking them together through my pregnancy. My OB recommended them if the ones she prescribed didn't work out (they gave me a stomach ache so I went with One A Day). I have heard nothing but good things! I recommend them!

I think 3000mg of EPA is a good amount but you will need to ask your doctor or professional for the amount. I don't think you can ever have to much. I am on 6 grams of fish oil but with only has 2grams of EPA in the 6 grams of fish oil i take. Its important to make sure your fish oil does not have mercury in it other wise you can get heavy metal poisoning.
