Avatar f tn Now since 2 weeks I also have mucus in my stool and I get very worried. I also take thyroid medication for Hashimoto and Desogestrel all the time for the Endometriosis. It would be great if anyone could help me. I went by the doctor already though they tell me to just eat healthy, which I do since 7 years now.
Avatar n tn //www.webmd.com/dvt/blood-clot-symptoms#1. Two things that you do not mention are swelling or discoloration. You've clearly already read about DVT since you mention these two symptoms being absent. Has your doctor done a lower extremity ultrasound to detect if there is a clot? That would seem like a good step to take. https://www.webmd.
Avatar f tn Hello, For the past 1 1/2 months my leg has felt sore. It doesn't interrupt my day to day activities but its noticeable. There is no swelling, redness, or warmth. It seems to occur along my whole leg and is not constant or consistent. I am wondering what DVTs felt like for anyone who might have had them? How long can a DVT be there without being noticed? A bit of background on me. I am a 23 year old female, on birth-control, and a nonsmoker.
Avatar f tn I am very scared I have DVT. I had a dull pain in my calf for months. It seems like the pain gets worse when I lay down and move my toes / feet up words . There is also a heavy feeling or fullness in my calfs somedays . I have endured long haul flights over Christmas and this fall that have been over 5 hours long. I know I have moved very little during These flights. I read online that can cause DVt as well. I am a 29 year old Male 6'3" and 293.5 pounds.
Avatar f tn Dvt means deep venous thrombosis- when a blood clot forms in the deep veins of your extremity and it is treated with a blood thinner. The affected extremity becomes swollen painful and red.
Avatar f tn Yes it can especially if you have May-Thurner Syndrome causing your DVT. It's an often overlooked cause of DVT somehow but I have this condition and you should definetely get checked for it.
Avatar m tn Hello, If the investigations have ruled out any DVT, then it is unlikely to be DVT. It can be due to parasthesia or pinched nerve. I suggest you to apply cold compresses on the area and take some anti inflammatory pain killers like Ibuprofen after prescription from your doctor. Give complete rest to the part and avoid doing any activity like raising your arms or twisting the body which causes any further damage. Application of topical muscle relaxants also help.
Avatar n tn Deep vessel thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot. Apparently, the doctor believes the presence of edema suggests DVT otherwise coumadin would not be prescribed. Coumadin helps prevent clots. For some insight the lower extremity DVT is much more likely to cause pulmonary embolism (lung clots) and that is very serious medical condition.
Avatar f tn Two years ago, in 2021, I experienced a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in my left leg after a cesarean section during the delivery of my third baby. However, my recent leg ultrasound report, conducted in 2023, shows no signs of DVT and no swelling. The report indicates that my leg is normal. Currently, I am pregnant and would like to know if it is safe to continue the pregnancy or if there is a risk of experiencing DVT again. Should I proceed with the pregnancy or consider other options?
Avatar f tn A friend of mine is in a bad state. He has acute DVT and has clots in his leg. He had contacted the doctor and the doctor has said that his vein is dissolved and will not be possible to get into his normal condition. However a lasor treatment will ensure that the reverse situation will be controlled. Please let me know how best and what best are the ways and means to prevent clotting and ensuring he is fine. I am totally worried.
Avatar m tn I am 49 years old and was recently diagnosed with DVT/PE. Blood tests showed that there is no genetic cause, I have experienced no recent trauma, nor have I ever had any major surgery; however, I did have 2 serious calf muscle tears 9 and 11 years ago in the same leg as the DVT was recently discovered in. Both times the tears caused extreme swelling and brusing in the calf.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosis with dvt in november of 2011 and now I'm 27 weeks pregnant...I want to have a vbac but my doctor said its a 40% chance of going into labor on my own.
Avatar m tn Need advice...my husband has had a dvt in his leg below knee for three months. Last week he hit his shin at work and now leg is really swollen and purple especially on the heel. he has been on coumadin since initial diagnosis and also his doctor put him on lovenox shots for ten days. The lovenox was also given short term when he was diagnosed. There was another ultrasound done when he injured his leg and now they are not sure if he developed another clot or if this is the same clot.
738075 tn?1330575844 I'm so sorry! Sometimes life just isn't fair--it seems like one person should only be able to get so many diseases/problems. I've heard DVT is very painful, not to mention *serious*! I hope the healing goes quickly.
Avatar m tn Would Mircette be an option with desogestrel being less angrogenic? Also, any experience with prescribed HALF tab of OC? (ie. instead of Loestrin 1/20.. use 0.5/10 for hormonal imbalance?) Just concerned about initial breakout. Just some background... I have not used OC previously. I have no family history of breast cancer, no hypertension, non-smoker, and had 2 migraines in the past 5 years.
Avatar f tn Two years ago I was diagnosed with a DVT in my right leg. The doctor put me on Coumadin and told me to wear a compression stocking. It improved rapidly but still gets a little swollen around the toes sometimes. Now my left leg and foot has been swelling slightly for the last two weeks. There is no pain or redness, no feeling of heat. The swelling comes and goes. I do not have it every day, just on days when I have to do a lot of walking around.
Avatar f tn Hi, If you think she has a dvt, go to the er and have an ultrasound done immediately. Dvt can go into the lungs and kill you. She needs to be on a blood thinner.
Avatar m tn Hi guys. Im a 30 yr old male I've read that the risk of dvt per year for any given person after breaking down the numbers is 1 percent of less. I just had ankle surgery. Plates and screws put in. I've had no swelling or pain in my legs, no change of color. I'm not supposed to but I'm able to walk on my ankle now without a cast or anything after Today was my 2 and half week checkup.
Avatar f tn In treating deep venous thrombosis (DVT), the main goal is to prevent a pulmonary embolism (PE). Other goals of treatment include preventing the clot from becoming larger, preventing new blood clots from forming, and preventing long-term complications. The treatment of DVT and PE are similar. In both cases, the primary approach is anticoagulation (blood thinners).
