Hello, I am 29 yo considering OC to help hormonal imbalance (not so much pregnancy prevention). I have cystic acne along my jawline. I have been using spironolactone 50mg daily about a year. Overall, it's improved about 50%, but will worsen during pre-mentraul flare ups. However, my derm is hesitant about increasing my dose and suggested adding on OC.
Any reccomendation on what estrogen/progestin combo to try for acne?
i started use Desogestrel in december at start when my period came was all fine period was gone after 4 days. january 4th started some lil bleeding and spotting and didnt stopped ever since. like 3 weeks ago i went to my doctor she said lets change to Slynd . but i am still spotting sometimes more sometimes less. my question is if i take a 1 week brake and resume taking pills will stop the spotting ?
we had sex about a week after i changed my pill to the desogestrel pill.
hi, i am taking ethinylestradiol/desogestrel richter 0.02 mg/0.15 mg, and i was supposed to start my 7 day pill free yesterday, but i forgot to, instead i started with my next strip of pill yesterday.. what should i suppose to do? should i stop taking the pill for the next 6 days and i will have my period in days or should i continue taking the pill for another 20 days?
Now since 2 weeks I also have mucus in my stool and I get very worried. I also take thyroid medication for Hashimoto and Desogestrel all the time for the Endometriosis. It would be great if anyone could help me. I went by the doctor already though they tell me to just eat healthy, which I do since 7 years now.

From my research it looks exactly like androgenic alopecia, which is apparently quite common. My situation seems to be a lot different. Both grandfathers (in their late eighties) have more hair than I do, as does my father. Also, my mother and her sisters as well as my grandmother have absolutely no signs of hair loss. I am not particularly stressed out, and love life. I am not an alcoholic, and am not on any prescription medications. I eat as well as possible.

From the pattern of baldness it looks like male pattern baldness. Androgenic alopecia is a common form of hair loss and typically occurs in M shaped pattern.
Men who have this type of hair loss usually have inherited the trait. Other causes may be use of some drugs, infections and underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. I have had chronic scalp sebopsoriasis and hair loss (diffuse thinning) during the 8 mos since I stopped an anti-androgenic BCP (stopped due to excessive fatigue and depression). There is female and male pattern baldness which appears to be influenced by the waxing and waning of the androgenic hormones as we age. Male pattern baldness usually starts over the crown and is associated with a receding hairline. This they would term as the vertex and bitemporal regions of hair loss. In women, the loss is usually limited over the crown. Pattern loss may be seen as early as in the 30's in men and later in women.
Hair loss may be due to an underlying scalp problem also.
