Hello, I am 29 yo considering OC to help hormonal imbalance (not so much pregnancy prevention). I have cystic acne along my jawline. I have been using spironolactone 50mg daily about a year. Overall, it's improved about 50%, but will worsen during pre-mentraul flare ups. However, my derm is hesitant about increasing my dose and suggested adding on OC.
Any reccomendation on what estrogen/progestin combo to try for acne?
Now since 2 weeks I also have mucus in my stool and I get very worried. I also take thyroid medication for Hashimoto and Desogestrel all the time for the Endometriosis. It would be great if anyone could help me. I went by the doctor already though they tell me to just eat healthy, which I do since 7 years now.
i started use Desogestrel in december at start when my period came was all fine period was gone after 4 days. january 4th started some lil bleeding and spotting and didnt stopped ever since. like 3 weeks ago i went to my doctor she said lets change to Slynd . but i am still spotting sometimes more sometimes less. my question is if i take a 1 week brake and resume taking pills will stop the spotting ?
How long ago was this? Go to ste store and get a test, or find a friend to get you one if you are embarressed. But just remember they only work about five days before your period...And its okay to be scared, I've been scared several times...but hopefully you are not pregnant, you are too young. But keep in mind if you are...Everything happenens for a reason!
hi, i am taking ethinylestradiol/desogestrel richter 0.02 mg/0.15 mg, and i was supposed to start my 7 day pill free yesterday, but i forgot to, instead i started with my next strip of pill yesterday.. what should i suppose to do? should i stop taking the pill for the next 6 days and i will have my period in days or should i continue taking the pill for another 20 days?
I originally went on birth control for acne and to avoid pregnancy. Acne might have dissipated at first, but the more stressed, and the more yeasty my life got, the worse my acne and mental health became. I decided to go off birth control after dealing with this conflict for years and with little support from doctors I figured I had nothing else to lose, so would go ahead after exams. My sanity, sex life, and general well-being was deteriorating.
Off the pill now, I feel FANTASTIC.

For the past few weeks since December 2009, the acne has spread all over my face and turning into itchy, painful cysts acne. After trying everything, I could not think of any other thing but the Mirena IUD. I did a search online for it and there are many blogs regarding its side effect of severe acne. I really do not want to remove this device because it is so convenience, other than the acne.
Hi, a couple of months ago, as the title of this post sugests ive started to get some acne mainly on my upper back and now also on my shoulders too. Cant believe it how it looks now and how it used to look (i was clear, and even used to make fun of my sister's acne on her back!). Damn puberty... =p

She also has Lupus but she has seen a dermatologist and rheumatologist and they dismiss it as acne. She knows she is out of remission with discoid lupus. But they assured her the 'acne" is not lupus breakout. Since this drug causes a lot of hormonal changes she wondering if it is a sign of anything else going on or a side effect of Armidex?

m curious why more studies have not been conducted to study the correlation between phentermine and acne? Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I am a biology teacher and am frustrated that medical professionals are not confirming the overwhelming reports of acne being associated with phentermine. Is it a conspiracy????
Infact I had one that matured and dried out. But this one seems to be hard and big and red. Also my lip is swollen in that area. This problem has now lasted for 2 days and seems to worsen and pains!
Any suggestion on how I can bring this swelling down and the bump on my lip? Is is not a pimple?
Can I buy any over the counter medicne for this problem?
