desmopressin side effects

Desmopressin usually has no, or minor side effects on most patients who take it. However, severe side affects like tightness in the chest, swelling of the face and oral cavity,siezures, cramps, personality changes,sluggishness, vomitting or unusual weight gain would warrant an immediate visit to the doctor. However, these side effects are a rare occurance.

I tried Effexor for only three days when it was given to me to treat migraines and I couldn't tolerate the side effects. Don't remember now what all they were- just that it was intolerable for me. It wasn't given to me for POTS- it was before I was diagnosed with POTS I tried it.

My father had a brain tumor removed and now has to take a nasal spray called Desmopressin. His endocranologist only wants him to use it one time a day, but the problem is he goes to the bathroom sometimes every 15 minutes!!!! He is also on 1/2 mg of Dexamethasone and that's part of the problem. Sometimes he takes two puffs a day but the doctor doesn't want him to do that daily.

t mention in your question what medication you were taking. Commonly central DI is treated with desmopressin. Desmopressin works by limiting the amount of water passed in the urine. I don't know why you would suddenly notice a decrease in your symptoms after 34 years. I would recommend making an appointment with your regular doctor to see what might be causing this. Until you can be seen, it is important that you remain aware of your fluid intake and output.

today the consultant gave me tablets called desmopressin acetate. i understand they reduce urine amounts. will try but cant see them working well. Any new ideas or anyone with same prob please help.

I hope someone responds - I came close to having to take this on a temporary basis after surgery and know some people that take this. Are you doing the spray or pills or both?

I will do that it seems the higher dose has created this and I'm not on anything else.

Many AD's have side effects that affect the libido, guess it applies to both sex es. As far as I know all AD's have this drastic effect . Hopefully you'll find one that's OK for you . Good luck.

Yes, I've only been on it a week and I experience the muscle aches and bilateral flank pain as well. In addition, insomnia!

Does anyone know of any side effects from using the circulation booster. I have the opportunity to buy a second hand one, but my brother believes it can't be good for your muscles to zap them so to speak, like it will confuse your muscles.

Hi. I am on week 60/72, second round of treatment. I was really really sick after shot for first few months and then this resolved and became tolerable at least. I now find that I am having these same significant side effects later in tx. This didn't happen last round, but I went 48 then. Anyone else have this happen?

i had similar side effects when coming off the depo shot. I thought i was pregnant and took 3 tests. they went away but it took about 6mo. My docs checked my hormones and pituitary gland and they we all fine. It's probably not the effexor but ck w/ your doc anyway.

I just googled Avastin side effects are there are many sites that have lots of info on there. Also, you could google the manufacturer or ask your oncology center for some fact sheets.... Just a thought.

Cancer removed May 22, 2007, chemo July 2nd through October 8, 2007, and radiation on left breast November 2nd through December 26, 2008. Side effect from Taxol perminent numb toes, side effects so far from Tamoxifen body temperature changes of warmth then cold. The web page sites and telephone numbers did not have this information.

I have been prescribed Acebutolol for PVC's and I am literally exhausted since beginning this medication but I didn't see that as one of the side effects. Also, my vision is blurred. Is this normal?

Hi there, Thank you for writing to us here, though I am sorry that you are struggling with side effects from the result of breast cancer medication. I am also a breast cancer survivor, however as I am triple negative, the hormonal drugs are not effective for me so unfortunately I cant speak from experience. However, that doesn't mean that I cant find out some interesting information for you in relation to libido and Arimidex.

He had a third seizure there and the vet diagnosed epilepsy. He is on phenobarbitol and had no side effects until last night when he vomited and started head twitching. He is drooling a lot and a bit wobbly. Is this typical? Will it stop ?
