Avatar m tn According to the Food and Drug Administration, nasal spray formulations of Desmopressin (Noctiva, others) are no longer recommended for treatment of bed-wetting due to the risk of serious side effects. Again, however, I can't stress enough that your friend should be checked by the GP, as an adult , this can signal other issues that need fairly prompt attention.
Avatar n tn she uses plastic sheets. spoke to a new doctor on wednesday has refered her to a shrink??? appaointment on tuesday.
Avatar f tn If it is the first episode of bed wetting then you should go to bed without a full bladder. But if the repeat happens, then please get it evaluated from a urologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn Hi Im 24 years old female, I have problem of bed wetting since childhood, very often I see dream that i am using washroom in my dreams, but wake up to see myself wet in BED. This doesnt happen daily but once in 2 weeks or so. Could you please guide me on how to get this treated ?? As this has been little embarrasing to me as I am quite mature now...
Avatar m tn Bed wetting in the teenage years can be physical and/or psychological. One of the ways we would try to determine this was by prescribing DDAVP (if there were not any issues that would prevent using it). Desmopressin (trade names: DDAVP, Stimate, Minirin) is a synthetic replacement for vasopressin, the hormone that reduces urine production. It may be taken nasally, or as a tablet. Lack of the hormone vasopressin is more common in men than in women.
Avatar f tn The only thing that allows me to breathe is a nasal spray equivalent to afrin. I used to be addicted yrs ago but now I only use it in dire emergency....like before eating or bed because I can't sleep if I can't breathe through my nose. In the past 3 days I've only used it at night and a couple other times during the day when it was really bad! I try to hold off as long as possible without using it. And I only use 1 or 2 sprays and usually only in 1 nostril.
Avatar m tn Have you tried the nasal spray? I think it works wonders. The problem with benedryl, other than side effects for me, is that I would suffer too much during the day time. I suspect the dose to my body is relatively minor, but not sure.
Avatar f tn This is the problem, the bed-wetting is just a result. (He might be scared of you, too, by now, if you are wildly frustrated and let him see it, and that might compound his original fears.) What you need to do is to figure out is why he is so anxious. Is your house or apartment scary? Not to you, perhaps, but to a 5-year-old? Is someone scaring him? Does he get to read or watch things with themes that are too dramatic or tense for a young child?
Avatar m tn The title says bed wetting or does she also do it during the day ? Punishing for wetting doesnt work it creates an anxiety, hence hiding the underwear, If she is doing this at nights cut back on all liquids after early eveing, as children do want to drink a lot before bed, the doctor is right and she will grow out of it, at 5 year old does she go to many camps or friends over night ? relax a bit make less of an issue , sometimes just taking that step back helps .
19632997 tn?1481359874 Within two months, the boy had stopped wetting the bed. Figuring he was onto something, O’Regan tried this therapy with several hundred wetting patients and published a series of remarkable studies. These showed convincingly that children with wetting problems were severely constipated and that treating constipation resolved the wetting in dramatic fashion. Here’s the interesting part: O’Regan noted in his papers that the parents of his patients had no inkling their children were backed up.
Avatar f tn I'm 18 and I am exactly like you regardinf this bed wetting. Sometimes I go dry for weeks and other times it could be a couple of times a week. I make sure I dont drink hours before I go to bed. This is very strange and I don't know what is causing this. If you find out any help or information would you be kind enough to let me know. Thanks!
14287919 tn?1434470794 Sleeping by breathing through the mouth is a rough road in my experience... dry mouth is horrible. I use a lot of saline nasal spray and a steroid spray, the help but I still wake up frequently. Afrin works great but can't use constantly... only allow the luxuary about once a week ; ( I suffer from mild OSA, lost aboput 10% of body weight and that doesn't trouble me any more, or it is masked by nasal congestion...but, I think not as Afrin will keep nose open all night.
Avatar f tn he has taken great pride in showing ethan how to have a wee which is good, the bed wetting is continuing i went to the doctor for myself and mentioned it he said that maybe dan is a deep sleeper and cant feel when to have a wee so when i go to bed now i get him up to have a wee and have now had a few dry nights which is good the doc also recommended a reward system if he goes 24 hours without a accident or wetting he gets a star if he has a full week of stars he gets a reward so ive started tha

Avatar n tn I just read a terrifying article about pregnant women using nasal spray in their first 3 months of pregnancy. It said it cause heart and stomach defects. I used it off and on almost my entire first 6 weeks before I found out I was pregnant. Anybody else out there know anything?
Avatar f tn Thank you! I'm always afraid to take any medicine in case it might harm my princess.
612551 tn?1450022175 I have fond that the only thing, pill or spray, that really clears the nasal passages for me is the "Afrin" type nasal spray. Of course we all know this will produce bad unwanted side effects (rebound and loss of sense of smell I believe), so I don't use this spray every night. As far as the other stuff goes I have decided that simple saline nasal spray works as well as any, and in the winter dry air also helps moisturize the nasal tissue.
4310181 tn?1357690214 I have been using Sinus spray but it doesn't seem to work very much I will have to call the doctor tomorrow, as no one is in today as its a holiday.

Avatar m tn There isn't an antibiotic for sore throat. He is giving you nasal spray to clear your sinus because they drain down your throat and cause irritation.
1363867 tn?1277825361 You can try a saline spray; helps dry nasal passages. I don't know what is available in Banglore, India. Do you have allergies? If your problem persists, I would recommend having a physician assess your nasal passages.
