Avatar f tn If it is the first episode of bed wetting then you should go to bed without a full bladder. But if the repeat happens, then please get it evaluated from a urologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn Hi Im 24 years old female, I have problem of bed wetting since childhood, very often I see dream that i am using washroom in my dreams, but wake up to see myself wet in BED. This doesnt happen daily but once in 2 weeks or so. Could you please guide me on how to get this treated ?? As this has been little embarrasing to me as I am quite mature now...
Avatar m tn Bed wetting in the teenage years can be physical and/or psychological. One of the ways we would try to determine this was by prescribing DDAVP (if there were not any issues that would prevent using it). Desmopressin (trade names: DDAVP, Stimate, Minirin) is a synthetic replacement for vasopressin, the hormone that reduces urine production. It may be taken nasally, or as a tablet. Lack of the hormone vasopressin is more common in men than in women.
Avatar m tn The title says bed wetting or does she also do it during the day ? Punishing for wetting doesnt work it creates an anxiety, hence hiding the underwear, If she is doing this at nights cut back on all liquids after early eveing, as children do want to drink a lot before bed, the doctor is right and she will grow out of it, at 5 year old does she go to many camps or friends over night ? relax a bit make less of an issue , sometimes just taking that step back helps .
19632997 tn?1481359874 Within two months, the boy had stopped wetting the bed. Figuring he was onto something, O’Regan tried this therapy with several hundred wetting patients and published a series of remarkable studies. These showed convincingly that children with wetting problems were severely constipated and that treating constipation resolved the wetting in dramatic fashion. Here’s the interesting part: O’Regan noted in his papers that the parents of his patients had no inkling their children were backed up.
Avatar f tn I'm 18 and I am exactly like you regardinf this bed wetting. Sometimes I go dry for weeks and other times it could be a couple of times a week. I make sure I dont drink hours before I go to bed. This is very strange and I don't know what is causing this. If you find out any help or information would you be kind enough to let me know. Thanks!

Avatar n tn No leak diapers for incontinent pets. That will at least deal with the bed wetting issue. Use nature's miracle to clean up the mess, btw, to remove the smell entirely. Otherwise, be sure your cat has access to soft foods that are easy to eat, just in case the lack of appetite is due to an inability to chew. The above advice by ZQ is right on the money. Look into those tests, most of the above mentioned illnesses are very treatable with medication and/or proper nutrition.

Avatar n tn My 8 1/2 year old step son is still wetting the bed. Sometimes more than once a night. It happens every night. he has tried the medication and alarms nothing seems to work. He also can drink very little and still wet the bed. could there be an underlying problem? Or will he grow out of it?
Avatar f tn This is the problem, the bed-wetting is just a result. (He might be scared of you, too, by now, if you are wildly frustrated and let him see it, and that might compound his original fears.) What you need to do is to figure out is why he is so anxious. Is your house or apartment scary? Not to you, perhaps, but to a 5-year-old? Is someone scaring him? Does he get to read or watch things with themes that are too dramatic or tense for a young child?
Avatar n tn I googled Adult Bed Wetting and a couple of sites said that the onset of it could be a symptom of Type II diabetes. I woke up this morning with a wet bed. This is the second time this year that this has happened to me. I am mortified and embarrassed. I haven't been diagnosed with diabetes yet but I am over weight and don't always eat properly. I have had a history of hypoglycemia (which I have been told is a precursor to diabetes). Has anyone here experienced this?
Avatar n tn My 8 yr old daughter still wets the bed. We make her wear a pull-up to bed and sometimes she will not wet that pull-up at all. But when we let her try to wear panties to bed she wets. We don't let her drink anything after 7pm for the simple reason she will wet. We make her go to the bathroom before she goes to bed and she will still wet. What can we do to help her?
Avatar f tn Urinary incontinence is different than bed wetting such as you are doing. This requires medical examination for things like: A blockage (obstruction) in part of the urinary tract, such as from a bladder stone or kidney stone; Bladder problems, such as small capacity or overactive nerves; Diabetes; Enlarged prostate; medication side effect; Neurological disorders; Obstructive sleep apnea; Urinary tract infection.

Avatar n tn My father had a brain tumor removed and now has to take a nasal spray called Desmopressin. His endocranologist only wants him to use it one time a day, but the problem is he goes to the bathroom sometimes every 15 minutes!!!! He is also on 1/2 mg of Dexamethasone and that's part of the problem. Sometimes he takes two puffs a day but the doctor doesn't want him to do that daily.
Avatar n tn He does this anywhere in public - school, grocery shopping and restaurants. He is currently on bed wetting meds for evening bed wetting. When he is watching television or playing a game on the computer, he refuses to go to the bathroom. I don't get the sense that his behavior is going to change any time soon. He currently sees a urologist. The urologist prescribes pills and says, "It will get better".
