I have used a nasal spray (DDAVP) for three weeks, but the bleeding did not stop. I tried doubling up on the nasal spray since I was prescribed the wrong strength, but it did not help. I had my second Depo Provera shot on December 7. I thought it would help make the bleeding stop, but I am still bleeding. I have also tried a estrogen pill I was prescribed, but it has not helped.
I know I will have light bleeding on the Depo Provera, but is it normal to be bleeding for 37 days?
How do you wean off the medicine DDAVP? I've been taking this medicine for many years only to find out my tests say I don't need it (I had small injury to pituitary in brain). Unfortunately I find it almost impossible to wean off because it makes you go to the bathroom ALOT after the medicine ware's off! since it's an anti diuretic/water retaining pill! Confusing and tricky.
DDAVP, Stimate, Minirin) is a synthetic replacement for vasopressin, the hormone that reduces urine production. It may be taken nasally, or as a tablet. Birth control pills do not work to stop the bleeding at this time I am taking two seasonale pills daily and estrogen to try to control bleeding, but I have been bleeding for a month now. Hematologist has done tests to rule out vonwildebrands disease and other bleeding disorders, all sonograms show no gynecological problems., Have had multiple tests to check hormone function-all have showed no problems, currently cannot do any tests.
did some thorough blood tests and everything came out just fine except for an EBV infected from october (I had mono for 2 weeks and then all symptoms went away). was sent to a neurologist and he did an EMG test and everything was fine. he gave me cipralex to ease me up. I took it for 10 days and I stopped because I didn't like the idea of taking it. he told me I can stop it whenever I want. so I stopped. a few days ago I lost something like 60%-70% of my sensation all over my body!
My question is I have asked her endocrinologist to prescribe DDAVP for her to take during several camps she has this summer. He will not because of a chance she could have a seizure. How long did it take for your diabetes insipidus to resolve? how long did it take for your doctor to prescribe testosterone? My endo refuses to prescribed the testosterone as he says that should recover by itself, however I am exhausted all day. I am on ddavp (sublingual pill) and 10mg of prednisone.
We have a 7 year old colllie just diagnosed with Diabetes Insipetes (nephrogenic). Vet recommends treatment with ddavp eye drop. All the information we can find says that this is "very expensive". Can you give us a ballpark of what this actually means for annual cost of care? What are the implications of leaving this untreated if she has on going access to fresh clean water?
Hemolytic-uremic syndrome fits with all three. in that case it would be pre-hepatic jaundice, means there's nothing wrong in the liver, so far. In that case they won't find bilirubin in the urine.
both jaundice and hemolytic anemia can give dark color to the urine.
you should check hemoglobin and platelets, do urine test with urine culture. complete blood count and ESR. liver enzymes and liver function tests. Creatinine levels.

Hello~First, your friend needs to be examined by the GP, there could be some reasons for this such as Diabetes, urinary track issues, infections, or other issues with the kidneys and/or bladder.
There is a drug called Desmopressin (DDAVP) it reduces urine production at night. But drinking too much liquid with the medication can cause problems, and Desmopressin should be avoided if you have symptoms such as a fever, diarrhea or nausea.
The tumor was germinoma. Yes u are right it was the optic nerve. I don't know for sure if my pituitary gland still functions I take ddavp, I also took growth hormones in the past and I take l cortef. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced diabetes insipidus? The reason for the test is because I have been extremely thirsty and urinating almost every 1.5 hours a day. I received a copy of the test results. They tested my ADH level (arginine vasopressin) The results are L<1.0 Range:1.0-13.3
They say there are different types of diabetes insipidus, basically that the kidneys are doing what they are supposed to do or a pituitary issue.
If the urea levels were high, please get a current status on that. Uremic neuropathy, osteoarthritis and maybe some hormonal issues could be cause of loss of fine motor and motor control. Please discuss this with her doctor. Take care!

This is caused because your pituitary gland is not making enough Anti-diuretic Hormone. The medication used for this is called Dessmopressin or DDAVP. I have this and without medication I am also up every half hour drinking and peeing.i rec that you see a neuro endo to rule this out, your other pituitary hormones, and have a current MRI.
Within two weeks, I had joint paint, nausea, fatigue, nosebleeds, bruising, and petechial rash. I took 165mg 80% silymarin for 14 days and this helped. 5 days after stopping silymarin, my symptoms returned in full. I then had a midnight attack of acute RUQ pain with nausea/vomiting that landed me in the ER. My ALT was 193, AST 183, mildly elevated bilirubin, platelets 172K, neutrophils 94%.
