Ive always suffered from dandruff and so i used T-gel and capisal anti-dandfuff shampoos, but when i got pregnant my doc told me not to use them because of coal tar and so i stopped, it also says on the back of the bottle not reccomended during pregnancy, its been 9 weeks and my head is soo itchy its driving me mad :( .. Anyone know any good natural ways to get rid of it?
I am on week 11 of treatment, interferon and riba, about 2 weeks ago, my scalp started to get very itchy, I have used a variety of different shampoos for dandruff, none seem to work on helping the itch. It seems to be worse in the evening when I'm finally relaxing. Is this common and does anyone have any suggestions?
First, to sooth my scalp, I am using chemical-free shampoos and conditioners (often with tea tree). I use them after a dandruff treatment, the t/gel dandruff shampoo set that contains 3 types of dandruff control, all of them are anti-fungal. I also use tea tree or sea buckthorn soap, which are natural antibacterials. (not sure that is needed, now i think it is a fungus).
To sooth my skin, I use jojoba oil and chemical-free lotions. The olive oil hair product from Hollywood Products also helps.
Wen my kids had it i used olive oil. I used to use baby oil bt it wasnt working n it was cumin bck. Dnt scratch it out jus gently comb it out due to the baby soft spot..
ve experienced extremely dry and flaky scalp. Can you look at these photos and tell me what it is? Dry scalp, dandruff, scalp psoriasis, or seborrheic dermatitis. The bad part is, I just washed my hair on Monday night. I washed it, conditioned it, put a little of olive oil (food-grade), then I braided my hair in about 8 plaits. I have to wash my hair every week b/c of my scalp. I'm unable to wear twist-outs/braid-outs or any hairstyle that requires me to wear my hair out.

I would first take a picture of it (cell phoe behind the ear, click) so you can see it clearly to scrutinize it.
Does it look or feel crusty, scab ? Blistery? Red? Oosing? Can it be drained? Cancer is a real scare so is MRSA.
Try using extra virgin olive oil on your Skin and hair. Use it as a conditioner to reduce dandruff and provide some moisture to the scalp. Wash it out the next day, but keep treating your hair with it to help with itchy, dry scalp.
I think that's why a hot sauna worked best for your condition...the moisture.
t seem to have made much of a dent in the dandruff. Like I said, the dandruff is minimal on some days and heavier on other days with seemingly no rhyme or reason.
I've tried adding some olive oil to his food, and even rubbing some on him because I read it might help, but really when I massaged some olive oil into his skin it almost seemed to make the dandruff worse.
What do you all think? I have read they sell dog balm and dog moisturizers, which I'd never even heard of before.
I dyed my hair while on treatment. Did it just when I had too, since my hair got very dry. It didn't seem to impact treatment. Some people have more severe hair loss and problems then I didn though.
Will switching to a Selsun blue or dandruff shampoo help? What should I do about the pink flaky skin around my hairline? Any help is much appreciated. Its not itchy or irritating but it does not look good and I hate having flaking.
I really hope you can help me. We have a male Boston Terrier who will be 7 in July. He's had allergies in the past that caused some yeast problems on the folds of his face and ear trouble, and he seems to have grown out of them or something - in the past 2 years he's had no issues with any of that.

Hi, my daughter is 3 months old. She has had problems with an itchy scalp. Recently it has gotten worse. She itches all the time. We have shown her to the PCP 2 times and the first one said she thought it was eczema and asked us to shampoo regularly and to give her a hair wash regularly. The 2nd one said she could not see anything and asked us to keep skin dry. We have tried cetaphil, seldom blue shampoo, olive oil on scalp but the itching hasn't subsided. It just keeps getting worse.
hi, i am 14 years old and i have really bad scalp promblems i dont know how i got it, its not dandruff though, my scalp gets really flaky, itchy and white and i been using alot of different kinds of shampoo thats not helping. recently i got this sore in the middle of my head i been to the doctor and my dermatologist and they determine is a fungas infection and i dont have any bacteria or anything like that.
They used to use castor oil or olive oil rubbed in then use a tooth comb to pick it out and an appropiate shampoo after wards, there are things OTC now that may help, I do not know about the one you mention in your post, a drug store may have a pharmasist can advise.

The best way to treat dandruff is to use a dandruff shampoo. Look for shampoos with ingredients such as zinc pyrithone, salicyclic acid, coal tar, selenium silfide, or ketoconazole. All of these ingredients have been shown to work on dandruff; to use the shampoo, apply it to your scalp and hair, rub vigorously, and allow it to sit for five minutes so that the ingredients can work before rinsing it out.
Then I recently contracted pneumonia and was given a round of strong antibiotics. My dandruff disappeared on the 7th day of my antibiotic treatment and has not returned for a couple of weeks now. This makes no sense to me, as I know that dandruff is not bacterial in nature. Do you have an explanation for this?
I think this resulted in me developing serious dandruff. its been a problem for a while now. I think there is some hairloss and scalp is very dry and itchy. Everytime I run my fingers through my hand i can see flakes falling down. I plan on shaving my head and start applying some cream. Can you recommend any medicine or any remedies. I would really appreciate some help.
