Avatar f tn Tea tree shampoo by paul mitchell works great, but you have to by it from a salon or a beauty supply store becuase they sell knock offs that dont have the same ingrediants that work at drugs store and convinent store! before you use try to sratch of as much dead skin as you can with a brush or something!
Avatar n tn I have a teenage daughter with this exact problem. I ended up buying a clarifying shampoo from a local beauty salon. Not cheap ($13 for a bottle) but it kept her from getting that oily hair that was exacerbating her acne on her forehead, hairline and anywhere her hair touched. If anyone knows of a less expensive way, I like to know too.
Avatar n tn It started out of the blue, my scalp became very itchy and I could not help scratching it, when I scratched it, what appeared to be white flakes of skin came off. I thought this was just normal dandruff so bought Anti-dandruff shampoo (over the years I have tried every Anti-dandruff shampoo you can think of, even stuff from my GP).
4632175 tn?1368219317 I underwent a procedure to remove my acne spots in a beauty salon, downtown Moscow, Russia. The procedure obviously involved piercing the pimples with an instrument. When pierced, the pimples bleed. The salon seems good, in a highly prestigious area, it is licensed (I saw the documents but have no clue whether or not they are falsified). There is nothing seemingly unclean about the place, although there are very few clients and it's a bit dark. The doctors are supposed to be competent.
1827365 tn?1410506306 Have any if you ladies gotten a keratin hair treatment while pregnant? I went to the beauty salon and the girl (she's pregnant too) won't make the treatments herself. She says it could be dangerous for the baby.
Avatar f tn I'm 15w2d and haven't stopped getting my biweekly acrylic nail fills since finding out I was pregnant last October. The baby and I are in good health so far, so I don't think getting artificial nails is harmful to you or the baby. Just be sure that the salon is well-ventilated and sanitary so that you're not exposed to a bunch of chemical fumes or contaminated instruments. Stay fabulous and healthy!
Avatar f tn I am a beauty school drop out so I'm going off of what I vaguely remember lol. There are 3 causes for dandruff dry scalp, oily scalp, and a fungus. The condition of your scalp is what is going to tell u which treatment to use. One remedy is ad easy as shampooing everyday and using less conditioner on your scalp. You should also try using a clarifying shampoo and a moisturizing conditioner.

Avatar f tn Aslong as it's in a proper beauty salon and not a Chinese nail bar you will be fine, I'm a beauty therapist who worked up to 36 weeks within a salon xx
Avatar n tn recently I went to beauty salon for a facial, during which the beautician used an instrument called a blackheadremover ( removes blachheads and pimples) on my nose , Im not sure this instrument was sterilised or if the person before me had his blood on the instrument ( and he was HIV ) could it pass on infection to me, I know the instrument was used 15 minutes before me.

876805 tn?1240185863 The diagnosis is based on the appearance and location of the skin lesions. Over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos my help with the flaking . In severe cases, shampoos or lotions containing selenium, ketoconazole, or corticosteroids may be prescribed . This condition is chronic and can be controlled with treatment. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I have constant dry scalp. It does not flake like Dandruff. I get sore spots all over especiallly along hair line. I had it bad a few years ago, then it got better. It just never cleared up. It hurts to even brush my hair. It has made my hair so dry that I cannot even style it anymore. It feels good after first washing it, but then it starts all over again. It itches too.

303706 tn?1296876149 I would wait to get your hair relaxed there is a great conditioner and shampoo at any salon or Sally's Beauty Supply store, Try using Biolage or Biotera.... they work great in any hair thats damaged. When using the flat iron always put some kind of spray or cream to protect your hair. If you have a sally' s there they can help you with what to put on your hair before using the iron.... Wait atleast 4/6 wks after you have your baby to get a relaxer an let a professional do it.

Avatar n tn Hello Dr. About a month ago i developed scabs/rash on the back of my scalp/neck. I thought that it was just dandruff so I bought some shampoo. The shampoo didn't help and the scabs started hurting and my scalp became raw with me scratching it. It itches really bad. I have tried every shampoo on the market. Everything causes burning except for Aveeno which I am now using. I went to the Dr. and he said that it was like dandruff and that I would have it the rest of my life.
Avatar f tn I have eyebrows dandruff also. It is so annoying!
Avatar f tn Hello, This sticky substance can be due to dandruff and the small bumps can be due to clogged pores. Eat a healthy diet. You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help. The most effective ingredients -- antimicrobials -- to look for are zinc pyridinethione, selenium sulfide, sulfur and ketoconazole (also available by prescription).
Avatar f tn I got my eyebrows tattooed at a beauty salon that has a certificate (per 3 years) from the ministry of health in my country. Although she used a new needle and new ink, I'm concerned whether she followed sterilization for the rest of the materials that may or may not be disposable. She used the top part of the tattoo pen's cartridge to spread the numbing cream through my eyebrows before using the needle.
