Cyclobenzaprine muscle spasms

Common Questions and Answers about Cyclobenzaprine muscle spasms

flexeril

Avatar n tn I'd call a pharmacist. And you don't say what's causing your muscle spasms. It could well be the Celexa, in which case some magnesium citrate will probably take care of the problem, but don't take magnesium at the same time as you take the Celexa. These brain drugs use the magnesium channel to get to the brain, and that can cause muscle spasms -- very common side effect. They also affect serotonin, which is partly responsible for relaxing muscles.
1243543 tn?1269124022 ve taken cyclobenzaprine myself for muscle spasms. When you first start taking, it might make you feel a little strange, and it can blur your vision a little. But as you begin to get use to it these side effects tend to go away. You don't have to be frightened of it, just be cautious. And don't drive or anything, til you get used to it. I've never heard of anyone taking half a pill, but its probably a good idea until you get use to it. And hopefully, it will make you feel better.
Avatar m tn However it was not as effective as cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) for muscle spasms. Frequent warm baths go hand and hand with these drugs, at least in my humble opinion. I hope this information is helpful. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I get foot, calf & hand cramping too. I seem to be getting increasing doses of muscle spasms (I can almost picture jumping beans in there jumping around under my skin!) Anyway, I just had all of my bloodwork run & magnesium & potassium are perfect. It's like, on paper, I'm perfectly healthy - if you ignore my dangling squished brain! I never had these symptoms before this year, and they're just increasing as the weeks fly by.
1838963 tn?1318496884 The defining symptoms of fibromyalgia are chronic, widespread pain, heightened pain in response to touch, tingling skin, prolonged muscle spasms, weak limbs, muscle twitching etc. other systemic problems are functional bowel disturbances, sleep disturbances, palpitations, etc. brain fog, short term and long term memory loss, depression etc are also seen. Treatment is only limited and directed to symptomatic relief.
Avatar m tn I started taking Celebrex two months ago and have gained 18 lbs since. I am wondering if anyone has gained weight on Celebrex? I have a sprained lumbar, lumbago syndrome with back spasms. I can't take narcotic pain meds. Any alternative to Celebrex? Naproxen does nothing for my pain.
Avatar f tn Could damage to the 7th cervical V cause a middle finger contraction?....also could damage to the 3-7 cervical V be associated with a muscle spasm of the right diaphragm? this all happened after a right shoulder injury...4 months ago. and 30 sessions of physio therapy..an mri that showed no rips or tears to the shoulder..but i am in great pain. and have been on pain meds since the shoulder injury. I find if i stay really still and don't breath....it settles down.
Avatar f tn The only thing that helped me was a prescription for flexeril, a muscle relaxer that blocks nerve impulses. The generic is cyclobenzaprine. I take 10 mgs. before bed, and it's very effective. Good luck!
529159 tn?1224991026 I have Fibro and have been experiencing SEVERE muscle cramps in my inner thighs. They are so severe that they will make me cry and can sometimes last 20-30 minutes. They will actually ebb and flow like a contraction but never stop...just increase in intensity to the point of making you want to pass out. My doctor put checked my postassium, magnesium, etc. levels and they were fine. Has anyone had any experience with these type of cramps?
Avatar f tn PLEASE ANYONE... CAN YOU GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK ON WHAT YOU THINK IT MIGHT B, OTHER THAN MUSCLE SPASMS OR CHEST WALL PAIN. and how exactly do i bring it up to an ER doctor as to what i think it might be? i dont wanna sound like i know more than they do and insult their intelligence. thank you!
917815 tn?1377498254 I dont post much (read a lot though)...a little over 3 weeks clean (again, LOL)... My right shoulder has been killing me the last 2-3 weeks, and this weekend, seems to have gotten worse; Doc said on Fri, most likely muscular...went through the weekend with Tylenol and today, pain is even worse. I asked him for something "non-narcotic" (he knows about my addiction) and he suggested Cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxer).
676302 tn?1237863491 I am wondering what is the name of the muscke relaxer that helps everyone. I have been taking cyclobenzaprine an all it does is makes me sleepy. It doesn't relax my muscles and right now I am really having a problem with the spams. Any help you can give please.
Avatar n tn Recently recommended to try flexoril for muscle spasms and told may have sedating effect. Told to take at bedtime. Wondering if Baclofen would not be a sedating. Neuro said it may be time for either one of these drugs. Also want to know which is most effective, longer lasting.
Avatar f tn Hi. I am wanting to quit taking Cyclobenzaprine. I took 20mg a day off and on, like twice a week for 2 years, and then started taking the 20 mg every day for the last 13 years. I plan to wean off, and am wondering what to expect as of withdrawal symptoms. Also, does anyone know of a natural med I could take in it's place?
Avatar m tn My side effects from the amrix were very little to non at all.I believe it is a great muscle relaxer/sleep aid if one needed it to be... Good med.
Avatar f tn I'm on cyclobenzaprine which is a muscle relaxer. I'm on it to help me sleep though. I have had no issues and my baby has been healthy my whole pregnancy. If your ob says it's okay that means the benefits outweigh the risks. If you think only taking it when needed is best and it works okay for you then I'd do that.
2085202 tn?1373199740 Have been on lorazepam and cyclobenzaprine muscle relaxers then have been taking them rather frequently but still following the proper dosage instructions. Started getting respitory depression think I almost died....stopped breathing in sleep...lungs seemed depleted yet constricted...weak in the diaphragm. Went off it now and now feeling what seems almost like heart attack symptoms.
Avatar f tn How long after an EMG can one have a muscle biopsy done on that muscle. And can any medications affect the results of an EMG or biopsy. I am currently on Soma Cmpd 350 mg 3x, Flexeril 10 mg 3x, Baclofen 20 mg 4x, Valium 5mg 2x, Amitriptyline 25 mg 1x. And still with no relief.
Avatar m tn I just remembered that about a year ago I was prescribed some muscle relaxers for my neck (Cyclobenzaprine). Do you guys think that if I take one or two of them when I am having a hard time sleeping from the restless legs s**t that it will help me sleep?
Avatar n tn When it spasms yes feels like a pulled muscle but its a shooting pain when I cough. Yes , I read up on round ligament pain, and that's what it sounds like. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I am not a doctor, just a parent of a type-1 teenager, but I do know that muscle spasms are typical of low-blood-sugar seizures. It sounds like he is having seizures, just not severe enough to lose consciousness. You say he has been low consistently, but don't mention if he also swings high. If he is running more consistently low, he needs to talk to his endocrinologist as soon as possible to see about reducing his amounts of insulin, or tinkering with his schedule of shots.
Avatar f tn Neurontin, Lyrica for the nerve pain, and Baclophen or Flexeril for the muscle spasms. Hope this helps.
4856858 tn?1365378777 6 weeks post triple and I am starting to get muscle spasms. In my feet, hands and a little in my calves. Anyone else have this? What can be done?
