Common Questions and Answers about Cyclobenzaprine muscle relaxer

flexeril

1243543 tn?1269124022 flexeril (I believe it's the same thing your dr gave you) is a good muscle relaxer. I haven't had too many wierd side effects other than the sleepiness and since it is not time released you can cut it in half if you need. I'd suggest taking the 1/2 and if it doesn't work take a whole 10mg thing and see if it helps. Flexeril helps me better than the other similar strength stuff so I try to take it at night and then again first thing in the morning.
676302 tn?1237863491 Hello and welcome, There are quite a few muscle relaxers out there that work very well for fibro. In my experience I have found Soma to be helpful as well as Skelaxin. I would have a talk with your doctor and see what he/she suggests. Good luck to you.
917815 tn?1377498254 I dont post much (read a lot though)...a little over 3 weeks clean (again, LOL)... My right shoulder has been killing me the last 2-3 weeks, and this weekend, seems to have gotten worse; Doc said on Fri, most likely muscular...went through the weekend with Tylenol and today, pain is even worse. I asked him for something "non-narcotic" (he knows about my addiction) and he suggested Cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxer).
Avatar f tn I'm on cyclobenzaprine which is a muscle relaxer. I'm on it to help me sleep though. I have had no issues and my baby has been healthy my whole pregnancy. If your ob says it's okay that means the benefits outweigh the risks. If you think only taking it when needed is best and it works okay for you then I'd do that.
1653969 tn?1390331661 How long have you been clean from the hydrocodone? Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) is a popular muscle relaxer these days - and it only presents very limited problems with it being a drug of abuse. The instant sleep thing will go away after you establish a routine with it. Wish that I could really help you - but yours isnt a common complaint with flexeril. Do you do any breathing exercises?
Avatar f tn Now 3 weeks later she wants to try the new coctail of celebrex and muscle relaxer. Tried the muscle relaxer the first night seemed to take a little of the night time pain away not much. The next day i seemed very emotional and shaky and thought maybe I was having withdraw from the xanax since I took it for 3 weeks straigt. Doctor said no not for that short lenght of time.
Avatar n tn mild muscle relaxer might help ya sleep
Avatar f tn So he takes 6-8 10mg/325mg of oxycodone a day, 1-2 10mg of cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxer) a day, 1-2 ambien at nights and now the dr just added 2 10mg of methadone a day. By night he is slurring his speech, falling asleep. I am so angry about all these pills. He ends up buying oxy off the street because he runs out of his prescription before the time to refill. Is he being overdosed? He is very defensive when I try talking to him about this. That's his addiction.
10592317 tn?1416534566 I found out two weeks ago that I have gallstones. Yesterday I was prescribed pain meds and a muscle relaxer. I took the muscle relaxer and I got really sick from it. Throwing up, dizziness, nausea, blurred vision, fatigue, shakes, weak. Well I went to bed hours later and woke up feeling panicky. I felt very sick, shaking, weak like I'm going to pass out. I figured the muscle relaxer would have worn off by now because it says take every 6 hours and I never took it again.
Avatar f tn The only thing that helped me was a prescription for flexeril, a muscle relaxer that blocks nerve impulses. The generic is cyclobenzaprine. I take 10 mgs. before bed, and it's very effective. Good luck!
Avatar m tn This along with the muscle relaxer took the puffing sounds away in my ears.
Avatar m tn Avatar_m_tn sggtmarine 12 minutes .. I have been prescribed hydrocodone for approx. 7 years. I had my left knee replaced in 2009 and had to have it revised in 2011 and to this day I am still in pain. My doctor increased my prescription from 90 per month to 120 per month. I'm now receiving 180 per month along with 90 cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxer) per month. I also receive 30 meloxicam per month for swelling and pain. Even with all these meds I'm still in pain.
Avatar n tn My new doctor prescribed me Cyclobenzaprine for my muscles spams but I take celexa on my regular basis. I remember he told me to be careful in no combining those two. Tonight, I took my celexa around 1am. At 3:55am, I forgot I took the celexa and I took Cyclobenzaprine. Do you think is something I should be worry? I looked online about the drug interaction and they say could be deadly. I am very worry. Any advice of what I can do? Do I gonna be okay?
Avatar f tn They sent me home with Hyrdocondone for pain and Cyclobenzaprine for a muscle relaxer. By Friday I had a call into my Dr. for a medication change. I went on to Oxycodone which seem to help for pain and Methocarbamol for muscle relaxer. I was actually able to sleep last night in a elevated position. Sleeping seems to be very uncomfortable. I am experiencing some very horrible pressure headaches. This morning I couldn't even see.
Avatar n tn By the way, I also take 300 mg of Trileptal which is another Central Nervous System medication, plus 10 mg of cyclobenzaprine which is a muscle relaxer. The brand name is Flexiril. The muscle relaxer will definitely help the muscles from cramping up. Most prescriptions are written to take as needed with a maximum of 3 doses in a 24 period.
Avatar f tn Hi. I am wanting to quit taking Cyclobenzaprine. I took 20mg a day off and on, like twice a week for 2 years, and then started taking the 20 mg every day for the last 13 years. I plan to wean off, and am wondering what to expect as of withdrawal symptoms. Also, does anyone know of a natural med I could take in it's place?
Avatar m tn Flexaril the muscle relaxer? Yes, I had some of those a couple years ago that I used to help me with the body aches. It didn't help me sleep, nothing did. I was taking 3 or 4 otc sleep pills during wd, also some valium it just all relaxed me but nothing helped me sleep good, just time. Bout a week before I was able to sleep all night. But that was me. Hope this helped?
Avatar m tn t forget to ask if there is a better alternative to Flexeril - is there . another muscle relaxer that will be just as effective and may not potentiate a suspected seizure disorder? You're going about this decision in the correct manner by educating yourself. I wish you the best and hope you'll let us know what you learn and decide.
372416 tn?1242665752 Has anyone here used this medication and got addicted? I got a script yesterday for the back/leg & fibro--------- **** sneaking in while I'm knee deep in hard labor work right now and eating way too many OTC's for nothing. My normal deal would be, "oh good! I'm in so much pain I don't have to fake it this time!" I'd just go get my shot, script of painkillers and anti inflamitory. I didn't go in at all.
2085202 tn?1373199740 Have been on lorazepam and cyclobenzaprine muscle relaxers then have been taking them rather frequently but still following the proper dosage instructions. Started getting respitory depression think I almost died....stopped breathing in sleep...lungs seemed depleted yet constricted...weak in the diaphragm. Went off it now and now feeling what seems almost like heart attack symptoms.
Avatar f tn How long after an EMG can one have a muscle biopsy done on that muscle. And can any medications affect the results of an EMG or biopsy. I am currently on Soma Cmpd 350 mg 3x, Flexeril 10 mg 3x, Baclofen 20 mg 4x, Valium 5mg 2x, Amitriptyline 25 mg 1x. And still with no relief.
Avatar m tn ve taken Norco for a long time, I think I need to add a muscle relaxer to my pain man. regimen. Is Soma a muscle relaxer or a narcotic? I've taken Skelaxin but it takes several doses over a period of a few days to get relief. I would like something that works a little faster.
