eczema

Avatar n tn I've had eczema my entire life and it's NEVER been as bad as it is now. I just gave birth a little over a month ago, but my skin now is soo irritated and itchy I can't even sleep at night. It's made it hard to move or take showers. It burns. I've had perscription steroid cremes every type of lotion out there. And all my dermato wants to do is use the same cremes. I NEED RELIEF!! Does anyone know a natural way to ease the eczema pain?
Avatar n tn Their is no cure for eczema. I also work in construction and have it between my legs. Not the same type that you have and the doctors are still debating over what my skin problem is. But I have read a lot about eczema and their is no cure. But it does go away on it's own and is treatable. I would definitely start wearing gloves as washing your hands causes more problems.
Avatar m tn It's probably eczema. There is no cure and no one seems to care how much it destroys your life. Not trying to be sarcastic, just tired of dermatologist who act like it's just a minor itch. The one thing you can't do is itch. I know don't breath either. When you scratch it makes it worse. You need to keep the area moisturized. I wouldn't use steroids, they just make it worse. When you use steroids you need to use them constantly to get the affect.
Avatar m tn I have never been one to use prescription drugs because I am a firm believer that they only COVER symptoms and do not work to cure the underlying problem. I may add that I eat really unhealthy. I'm not overweight at all. But, I do eat VERY FAST and never really chew my food properly (also thought that could of been a reason why my food was getting caught in the middle of my throat.
Avatar f tn What worked for you moms as far as natural self induction methods? Been using exercise ball, walking, taking raspberry leaf tea, and evening primrose oil. Nothing is working so far due date is tuesday. Im all for natural methods dont want to be induced at hospital, but am tired of being pregnant.
Avatar n tn You said you've tried other stuff. Does that include therapy? Because med or not med, you'll still have to do therapy if you seek a cure. Drugs don't cure. As for natural remedies, they're complicated to use, and a naturopath or holistic nutritionist would be someone to consult. A good book on it is Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist with UCLA. As for being scared of meds, it's health to be aware of meds, but counterproductive to be afraid of them.
Avatar m tn I see alot of places that state there is no cure for Eczema...do they mean that there is no cure for the itching? or a cure for the appearance? is there any hope that i can wear shorts in the future? some thoughts i had were chemical peels? laser treatments? would these work? if so, which professional should i go to? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Here's an interesting thought. I didn't know about this, 'til my primary doctor just told me. I have many food sensitivities, and I have Celiac. Did you know that eczema is one of the symptoms of Celiac? Okay, here's an interesting one for you: When I stopped eating gluten and dairy, which is absolutely essential for celiacs, I stopped having the severe eczema that I had been experiencing since I can remembering.
Avatar n tn re talking years) they can thin your skin, so they are reluctant to use them for your face. having said that they work very well so you can use them for a little bit on her eczema and then use moisturisers in between, just swap them over every now and again.
Avatar f tn I am 43 and want to concieve naturally. I would appreciate your input and stories of success with natural methods. Thank you!
Avatar f tn There are many treatments available to help control or eliminate goiter issues - some can be solved with natural substances - but - you do need to work with a doctor to find that balance.
3161757 tn?1343727507 BUT, my friends, I can recommend a natural cure which works within 2 minutes! My husband used to be a medical herbalist/homeopath, and luckily he had the herbs and tinctures at home. One night I couldn't stand this RLS and wasn't getting sleep (neither was poor hubby!) and he gave me a glossy black herbal tablet which was a mix of Skullcap and Mistletoe. Two minutes later I was like a baby off to sleep, no RLS.
Avatar m tn Hello, Eczema is characterised by red, dry patches which are itchy. If the rash is non itchy then it can be pityriasis alba. Pityriasis alba is a common skin condition mostly occurring in children and usually seen as dry, fine-scaled, pale patches on the face. No treatment is required and the patches in time will settle in due course of time. The redness, scale and itch if present may be managed with simple emollients and sometimes hydrocortisone, a weak steroid, is also used.
Avatar m tn I don't know why I thought it was your son! Sorry about that! OK! I am not talking food allergies, but food intolerances. Gluten is a big one when it comes to itching! That is the one food I would recommend getting off of - my son had the exact same body itching and the gluten free diet cured it. Give it up to three weeks to get out of her system. And she'll have to be pristine about the diet - no "little teeny weeny cheats".

Avatar n tn Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a skin condition that usually appears first in infancy and then at intervals in adult life. Eczema may be set off by extreme temperatures, stress, sweating, medication, clothing (especially wool or silk), grease, oils, soap and detergents, and environmental allergens. There is no cure for eczema, but there are a number of ways to relieve it. Topical steroids may be prescribed to reduce skin inflammation during an eczema flare-up.
Avatar f tn It would probably just put your health or the babies at risk and no methods are proven to even work. I hope that helped. Good luck.
Avatar m tn I'm wondering if what you have is eczema. If so, look up omega 3's and evening primrose oil supplements and eczema and see if you'd like to give that a try. Food elimination that helps a lot of people is gluten. Look up a gluten free diet and see if you'd like to give that a try. I'm doing my best to save you from embarassment! I'm earning my angel wings!!!!!
