After 7 years of therapy taking Crestor and Tricor (fenofibrate), I, too, started experiencing intense pain in my legs, feet, back, and arms. My Dr. took me off Crestor last month but the pain returned within a few days, although not as intense as it was prior to my stopping Crestor. I took myself off fenofibrate just a couple of days ago and "Wow" what a difference! I can actually sleep at night and notice that the pain is dissipating more and more each day.
The weakness and aching are signs of rhabdomyalgia which is a side affect of statin drugs. You need to see the doctor that prescribed the meds as he/she needs to check you. I don't know about the shortness of breath. It could be a drug reaction too.
The statins you listed all have been beneficial in reducing cholesterol. Studies tend to show that Crestor and Lipitor work more effectively but responses can vary with individual patients. Once you start your medication, your physician will check the levels again and can readjust the medication. Crestor has been shown to increase HDL in some patients but not all. Get your lab work retested after starting to see if there needs to be further adjustments made.
Causes of high potassium levels (hyperkalemia) includes acute kidney failure, chronic kidney disease, certain drugs, type 1 or type 2 diabetes, rhabdomyolysis (severe muscle damage), tumour lysis syndrome, trauma, burns, Addison's disease, sickle cell disease, lower urinary tract obstruction, potassium supplements, diet high in potassium (rare cause).
Has anyone gotten worsening of their PVC's from taking a statin drug? I seem to be intolerant of these drugs and have tried Crestor, Lipitor and Lescol. My PVC's go absolutely nuts when I take them. I have done my own tests by going off and on them. I consistently get worse when I'm on them. I take C0Q10 and a whole bunch of supplements including magnesium to no avail. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Given Lcx and the CT noted blockage, I think I would want that checked via cath and done with FFR to note the severity of the blockage. Small vessels can be stented. My circumflex had a FFR significant 90% blockage opened with a Boston Scientific 2.5mm x 12 mm Promus Premier DES. I know each person is different but I think mentioning it might be helpful. YMMV. I know I felt miserable with my ccx blocked as it was. Once opened, it made a significant difference.
However, there is also the risk of liver inflammation due to the medicine Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and it is conceivable that there could be an additive effect of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and INH. In addition, niacin may increase the risk of muscle disease called myopathy when used with Crestor® (rosuvastatin). Crestor® (rosuvastatin) significantly increases the INR (enhances the effect of Coumadin to make your blood “thinner” than it would be alone.
First, the ejection fraction can have considerably variability depending on many different things such as heart rate and volume status. Secondly, your functional status and comorbidities (diabetes, coronary artery disease, kidney function etc). are much more important in predicting outcomes.
With that said, there are many people with heart failure who live long productive lives with little to no impairment in the activity of daily living.
I have 8 stent, 6 in the RCA and 2 in the obtuse marginal, I was 38 when I had my first heart attack, I am now 40. I'm constantly feeling chest pains could the medicine I'm on cause these pains?
I am diabetic and on metformin and also crestor for cholestrol recently I had the cardiac procedure and the following medicaations were added on
apo-clopidogrel 75mg, bisoprolol 5 mg 1/2 a tablet a day along with aspirin . thry tested my urine and found traces of blood. i have severe backaches. what could be the reason ?. is there anything that i coul do witout taking medication please advice . i am 70 years old.
I just had a serious adverse reaction to Crestor, which I recently started taking and the bruises started again, for the first time on the instep of my foot, which is taking longer to resolve. I was recently identified as having a high iron level and slightly elevated red blood cell count. I am worried that I will wind up with a lung aneurism, heart attack or stroke at some point if the vessel that decides to pop is located in my lung, brain or heart.
I started on crestor, than realized I am ttc and starting not feeling well and am on my ttw...I test for my pregnancy saturday. I took the crestor for 4 days than stopped and its been a little over a week. Should I restart and then stop if pregnant or not bother because of the possibility of there being a fetus?
I am just worried about my health.
You should try to have your LDL under 100 with 79 being better. HDL over 60 is pretty good. Crestor lowers LDL and raises HDL. Some people do not need to take the full strength Statin and can take a small amount and still show benefits. My dad takes only a chip of his Lipitor and his cholesterol stays down low. A lot of doctors themselves are taking a small amount of a statin to prevent heart disease even if they have normal cholesterol levels.
My GP has immediately put me on a daily low dose asprin and 20mg Crestor and has requested I have a Mycocardial Perfusion Scan and intends for me to see a cardiologist who he says may do an angiogram and possible stent. I am male, almost 60, 5'11, 92kgs and have a good diet (losts of fruit and veges with little deep fried) although I do not exercise as much as I should.
I am 22 and have just found out I have kidney disease. I do not want to tell my family, because I know they wouldn't deal with it very well. Is it likely to be easy keeping this from them (I live with them)? I am considering not receiving any treament for now to make extra certain family don't find out.
1 month later he was not saticfied with the drop in cholestoral so he put me on a fairley new drug called Trilipix. I take 10mg of lisinopril for high blood pressure, 10 mg of crestor, and 145mg of trilipix. After being put on the trilipix I started felling tired and having stomache problems (constipated and cramping). I went back to have my a1c check last week and it was 8.0.
