Common Questions and Answers about Cpap supplies medicare

cpap

Avatar f tn My friend's company replaces his CPAP supplies whenever he asks. They give you instructions on how to keep it clean. Obviously nobody wants to do it, but there are consequences. Otherwise they would let you do it the easy way. Now you have unexplained lung nodules, so you will have to get a biopsy to find out what is going on. Nobody here can help you.
1876457 tn?1322405589 Can anyone explain the way Medicare works with part d coverage for copaxone? The term catastrophic coverage has raised my eyebrow a smidge. I'm awaiting a call back from shared solutions and their "medicare" expert team. If im understanding the sales lady right, she informed me I would be responsible for the first $4700 approx.?
Avatar n tn You can start by writing to the mfg to see if they offer free or reduced cost supplies. You also can search for and inquire at free clinics in your area. Use Google search for free clinics XXX, ZZ, where XXX is your city and ZZ the state. Another source which provides links to "free" diabetic supplies is http://tinyurl.
Avatar n tn I believe these 4 thing are somehow interrelated The sleep disorder place has ordered a cpap continuos positive air pressure pump with a mask. Hopefully this will solve the sleep aphnea. Re: post nasal drip: The allergist gave me 2 samples, both of them are mists. I have taken first one and then the other for 6 days now and I can not see any improvement. .Th allergist wants to put me on a long program of shots, probably years.
Avatar f tn Cardio visit yesterday, only have to go once a year now. CPAP working better, have dissolvable zofran at bedside, as I wake up either with a headache (from straps too tight) or nausea, so grab one of those; they work almost instantly. So am sleeping better and with Adderall and better rest, am feeling much better. Can I wish away the summer heat/humidity? Not sure I will get the invite for Lemtrada as medicare requires that you have been on two other drugs at least.
Avatar f tn This is essentially equivalent to home health services in the United States. I will be referring to these services with regards to Medicare and Medicaid here.
961503 tn?1247059639 Go back to whoever you get your cpap supplies from and ask about a full face mask. The chin strap did not work for me....... I had to get the mask that covers both nose and mouth. Hope that helps!
Avatar f tn Anyone on medicare have any experience or enlightenment on provigil financial help? I've been quoted 33% copay (tier 4) by my drug insurance company which is over $300 for me The online sources I've contacted no longer cover provigil since the generic came out and the generic is about the same price... Looking for financial assistance sources if anyone knows of any thanks!
Avatar f tn Pressure support ventilation, where air under gentle pressure is passed into the airways keeping it patent. A CPAP delivers continuous pressure for both inhaling and exhaling. As this supplies continuous amount of air pressure the person has to exhale against this extra pressure. This makes it imperfect or unsuitable for certain people, such as those who are suffering from neuromuscular diseases.
612876 tn?1355514495 I just received paperwork in the mail congratulating me that as of February 2009 I will qualify for Medicare, and informing me that I need to respond to make certain selections regarding my Medicare program. When I called Medicare, they informed me that because I have Medicaid I won't have to pay premiums. BUT, I will now have copays on every single one of my prescriptions. (I take 20 medications right now.
600561 tn?1326845621 I have just visited a prosthodontist concerning a device recommended for mild sleep apnea patients instead of the CPAP machine. Medicare will be billed $800 + and I will pay $4-500 for things insurance will not cover. ON THE OTHER HAND: www.snorerx.com/stopsnoring looks very, very , very much like the device mentioned above that I am NOT going to have Medicare billed for. Why not invest $100 and try it instead of draining Medicare and spending much more myself? I have mild (5.
Avatar m tn Hi, thanks so much for your response. I'm on Spiriva and use a Nebulizer with Albuterol. I have a rescue inhaler for my asthma. I did have a weeks course of Prednisone about 3 or 4 weeks ago when I had a bad spell. I don't want Advair as I used it for a couple of years for asthma before the COPD was diagnosed and didn't see any benefit from it at all. Hopefully my doctor will help me find a way to improve a bit.
461838 tn?1255790216 In my case it showed periods of low oxygen levels, sufficient to qualify under Medicare (yes I have insurance) for supplemental oxygen. I discussed with my primary care doctor and ended taking an overnight sleep study at the local hospital (not low cost) and was diagnosed with mild obstructive sleep apnea...
Avatar n tn A couple of weeks ago (on March 7), "whispers" posted a question on this site about diabetes mastopathy. One of the Comments submitted to that question was from Galzee who has extensive experience in medical reimbursement/insurance issues. She gave instructions there on how to reach her. Perhaps she can help you, too. If I remember right, she was going to away for a week or two, so please be patient. When she returns, I'm certain you'll hear from her... Good luck!
Avatar n tn My 10 year old son has just been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. We are in the "working poor" which means living paycheck to paycheck with insurance. The only thing is that our insurance is the "economy plan" according to Blue Cross Blue Sheild of NC and will not pay enough on the insulin or supplies that our son needs. We just don't have the money to pay our $2,500 deductable then the 40% out of our pocket.
600561 tn?1326845621 This disorder can cause inadequate sleep leading to fatigue and daytime sleepiness. Hence for therapy CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) is used to keep it patent. Adequate sleep could help with the low energy, but may not help the GI symptoms. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

332074 tn?1229560525 I know that they are going to put me on a cpap machine. I know I would do okay with the mask that is just the two little prongs that go in your nose. However in the past when I have had surgery I have gone crazy when they have put the mask over my mouth and nose. I have always had very bad allergies and can not stand to have anything touching my nose and mouth. So I was wondering how do they determine what is the best mask for you to have?
Avatar n tn My wife uses a cpap machine with moisture every night. She has had two bouts with pneumonia this winter which she never had before using the cpap machine. Questions: Can breathing in excess moist air into the lungs by means of the cpap machine overload the lungs with moisture and cause problems?
Avatar f tn Shhhhhhh - your brain and body are listening. Give yourself some positive self talk, such as... I can do ANYTHING for just 30 days. Sleeping in my own home and bed will be nothing like in that lab. I'm going to take advantage of this change to get 30 days of real quality sleep. I'm glad that CPAP increases my likelihood of a good surgical outcome and recovery. I'm glad the next 30 days I will be at reduced risk of heart attack and stroke.
