Avatar f tn diagnosed yesterday with lymes, doctor wants me to have a spinal tap before he will prescribe antibiotics. I need a doctor referral in/near Gainesville FL who can help me get the antibiotic treatment I believe I need. They don't have any specialists listed here in my ins. co.
Avatar m tn I very recently moved to Gainesville, FL from CA, where I had an excellent pain management doctor. Prior to moving, I found a Dr. here in FL whom I believed would continue my pain meds. My prior doc did send a re ferral and very min. documentation. Found out the hard way that this area has Suboxone pushing doctors and are much more concerned about losing their license. I have an extremely high opioid tolerance and have been on almost every kind of pain meds in the past.

Avatar f tn My friend's company replaces his CPAP supplies whenever he asks. They give you instructions on how to keep it clean. Obviously nobody wants to do it, but there are consequences. Otherwise they would let you do it the easy way. Now you have unexplained lung nodules, so you will have to get a biopsy to find out what is going on. Nobody here can help you.

Avatar n tn We found out that our son had an ASD when he was 2 yrs. old. AFTER we'd taken him to Gainesville, FL Children's Hospital for a heart catherization, we were also told that he wouldn't necessarily HAVE to have it repaired because it was so small, but that he might grow up as a frail child and might not be very strong. Nevertheless, it was not life-threatening (we were told). We mulled it over and prayed about a lot about what to do.
961503 tn?1247059639 Go back to whoever you get your cpap supplies from and ask about a full face mask. The chin strap did not work for me....... I had to get the mask that covers both nose and mouth. Hope that helps!
278469 tn?1219245951 The Neurologist looked at the recommendation for about 30 seconds and said nothing. Now we are waiting on referral to Shands in Gainesville, Fl. for more telemetry. She has only been able to work about two weeks total since January and took FMLA in February. Stress is a major contributor as her short term memory is shot and cognitive test wasn't very good either. Just looking for advice or maybe do's and don'ts in the medical community.
1457748 tn?1317575165 My NL is sending the referral over to a Group of Neurosurgeons in Gainesville, Fl. I'm not sure if any of them are Chiari specialist but I doubt it. As far as I know the only listed Chiari specialist in Fl is Dr. Green in Miami. There is one in Tampa too but they won't accept my Ins. Oddly enough the NL I am seeing said he use to work with Dr. Green in Miami which is why he was so certain that this is my problem. When I ask if I should try and get an appointment with Dr.
Avatar f tn Pressure support ventilation, where air under gentle pressure is passed into the airways keeping it patent. A CPAP delivers continuous pressure for both inhaling and exhaling. As this supplies continuous amount of air pressure the person has to exhale against this extra pressure. This makes it imperfect or unsuitable for certain people, such as those who are suffering from neuromuscular diseases.
Avatar f tn Have you ever heard of Clear Passage Therapies? I went there in May, they're a clinic in Gainesville, FL that specializes in un-blocking tubes non-surgically. It's alternative medicine, but it worked for me. My left tube was completely blocked, and after a week-long treatment my HSG showed the tube open and functioning. Just another option to surgery....
Avatar f tn Does anyone have any suggestions of what might be happening or know a specialist or very good doctor I can see? I live near Gainesville, FL but I would be more than willing to travel if a "lead" is promising. Expensive IVF is not an option since the outcome is probable and I am not willing to throw away money. Besides, we don't have a problem getting pregnant, our problem is staying pregnant. Thank you everyone!
Avatar f tn Spine have an excellent team of dedicated surgeons! Dr. Lewis at Shands Hospital in Gainesville FL. Did 3 laminectomys on me and both he and the hospital waived all fees! Dr. Selsnik @ Virginia Brain & Spine reduced his fee to a very affordable price and Winchester VA. Which is now called Valley health where the surgeries were performed waived all fees through financial aid I never received a bill at all!!
Avatar n tn HI, I've had a total hys in 2003 - they took out the 1 drain tube they had inserted prior to me leaving the hospital on day 4 - it was barely stitched in - just enough to keep in place. It was a matter of nipping the stitch and pulling out tube - the small puncture hole closes very quickly. Then, in 2004, I had another abdominal surgery in which the same thing occurred - the tube was removed before I left hospital (done at the Univ.
Avatar f tn Linda Morgan, UF - Shands Teaching Hosp - Gainesville, FL; sorry, I just love her as she took such good care of me (she even threw in a tummy tuck for the 2005 surgery as a bonus since between '04 and '05 surgeries I'd lost 75+ pounds - she wrote it off as it was needed to facilitate a better view, etc.) - anyway, she said that if any piece (however small/microscopic it may be) is left behind, the pelvic region is such an area with a rich blood supply, that the piece would grow.
Avatar f tn Comment copied from another thread: Afraid that I am not. I'm in Southeast Florida. I consulted with the Miami docs. Dperry is from Tampa and folks like Susan, SJL and Spacecoast are from central Fla. Many more people are here in the south. I've heard (no personal knowledge) that the docs at USF (Tampa) have good reputations (several different ones are doc forum docs here). I reacall a way back that someone mentioned a clinic in the Tampa/St.
