Avatar f tn I'm looking for a Chiari Specialist in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. I am a 49 year old female. I've been showing classic sign of Chiari for years. Am hoping someone out there knows of a doctor. All I've been able to find is pediatric specialist.
Avatar m tn My husband is being transferred this summer to Elizabeth City, NC. I was just wondering if there were any doctors to recommend in or around that area, both cardiologists and surgeons.

Avatar f tn Her MS has been active since Christmas, some days better than others but she has had 2 hospital visits to get the steriod treatment in less than 6 months. She is very scared. We live in NC, her MS doctor is from Raleigh NC, however she is not pleased. The last time she had a bad episode, they never called her back. She has to find a doctor that she feels cares and is doing all they can to help her.
514349 tn?1272801633 I have other sleep problems, but I have not yet had to go to a CPAP. I understand if I wish to go to a CPAP my doctor requires I do another overnight in hospital (or other sleep study center) CPAP test to determine the best "settings" for me. So far I am CPAP free.
Avatar m tn im in durham, nc..coming from fayetteville, nc the doctors took yu no matter how far along but here they are seriously picky and its not that many ob/gyn's here to begin with.
Avatar f tn s my imagination. Does anyone have advice on my options? In this state of NC, there are limited cardiologists. Most doctors have grouped together into one care unit. It's not a simple matter of finding another cardiologist, whereas in my home state of Colorado, most doctors are still independent. I relocated almost two years ago and have regretted moving ever since.
5466288 tn?1410485185 Thanks for replying.I was afraid that would be the answer.I do have sleep apnea, but due to moving and needing new mask and other equipment,I haven't been using my CPAP.
Avatar m tn coughing, sinus drainage), and you are using a CPAP/BiPAP machine then yes, it can be related if your not keeping your equipment clean. it can also cause headaches/migraines.
Avatar f tn Also, I am having a machine delivered and set up by a tech in 2 days. Which machine is easiest to handle. I have heard horror stories about CPAP. The main problem was the fact that the air is blowing back at your nose when trying to exhale. Can't this be adjusted. Help me to know what to expect and which machine is best.
967168 tn?1477584489 ll leave the technicalities to someone else, but in general untreated apnea is not good for the heart, or any other part of your body. Whoever provided your cpap equipment should see you through whatever it takes to be successful if you keep going back to them. There are web sites dedicated to helping others with adjusting to cpap. Just sounds like your heart doesn't need the stress of sleep apnea, whether it is causing the problems or not.
Avatar n tn She is now going to a neurology pain clinic at Duke (Durham, NC), where she has had 2 nerve burns at a couple of thousand dollars each, that brought short-term relief. The leg pains are worsening, and her neurologist told her this past weekend after going to the emergency room for the 2nd time in 3 weeks, to see her family dr. because she may have blood clots in her legs.
572651 tn?1530999357 -Mobility and accessibility equipment, including scooters, wheelchairs, bathroom items, and other daily living assistance devices -The cooling equipment caught my eye- they offer vests, collars, wrist wraps, hats, seat pads and pillowcases. Who couldn’t use those during these dog days of summer? -They even have two apartment complexes designed specifically for MS patients – these are in New Jersey and North Carolina.
Avatar f tn I'm not even sure where to post this question: Ortho, Neuro... For several years I can remember experiencing an occasional crackling sound at the base of my skull right where the head pivots at the back of my neck. It was annoying at first - coming and going every so often. I figured it to be stressed muscles causing this strange sound - yet I always wondering. It sounds like small pieces of bone grinding together - not harshly to the point of pain - just annoyance and bewilderment.
Avatar m tn ) I no longer have the blemishes or marks on my face and am still getting the benefits of the CPAP equipment. What other solution is there other than throwing the dang thing at the wall and saying to heck with it ... and believe me I have been tempted but I like the air and all it's benefits so I am inclined to do it this way. :) Hope this helps. BTW ... I have an under the nose cushion and also a partial face one ...
