Avatar f tn My cat has worms no matter what i try it lessens then comes back. Could it be her wet cat food?
Avatar m tn Are there any definitive lab tests to determine if a cat has worms of any type? I have a cat that has had chronic diarrhea for over a year. I've taken him to several vets. They have ruled out the typical parasites like giardia and even T. Foetus. One vet wanted to give the cat NEMEX (pyrantel pamoate) oral liquid to kill any potential worms, even though none were seen on microscopic examination.

Avatar f tn talk to your dr and get tested to see if you have worms.... Even my parent 13 year old outdoor cat that makes very frequent kills has only had worms once as a kitten... and my indoor cat has never had them.... your only choice really is to get tested and talk to your ob/gyn.... even if they did have worms i dont know how they would transfer it to the baby seeing how it wouldnt be playing in the cat fecal matter.....
1710194 tn?1308931794 Does anyone have experience with this or know the chances or getting worms from your pets? We found out about a week ago that our puppy has round worm and gialdia worms. We have two cats and he HAD to have gotten the worms from the cats because he was dewormed about 100 times during his first few months at basically every vet appointment he was given worm medicine. I should also mention the way he got it from the cats was probably from eating their poop.
Avatar f tn So my female cat Nemaura has had intestinal parasites for a very long time. It seems to be on and off, the vet said it was tape worms based on the description I told them. I have gotten fecal tests several times and it always comes back negative, so when my cat poops there's nothing in the poop. But if it sits for a couple of days there are hundreds of little white worms squirming around in her feces.
8653699 tn?1409720132 My kitty had something wrong with his eye, so I took him to the vet and it turned out he had roundworm, so we got him his medicine but my cat is my baby, so i was with him the entire time he was getting better, I have no clue exactly how long he had the worm before I took him to the vet, couldnt be to long tho. He sleeps in my room, I'm 33 weeks pregnant and I an freaking out bc I have no clue if I could catch his worms, even tho the ones comng out of him now are dead, but could I have it?
Avatar f tn I would re-check for worms. They aren't always visible in the stool. Has your vet run tests?

658901 tn?1403814634 Ok i now i have to do something but my cocern is that they are HUGE i thought it was flat noodles she didnt chew well and through up, so my question is can the store bought meds work or is it more then i think and i have to take her to the vet imediatly i know worms can cause problems, i never had a cat who had it really bad i caught it at the beging every time but this cat we found and i thought she was pregnant but this morning she threw up and omg it was horrible her whole breakfeast lunch ou
Avatar m tn If you have intestinal worms that you get from eating something or letting a dog or cat get inside your mouth, you should not kiss someone. If you have worms elsewhere, I think it is alright. My opinion, though.
Avatar m tn Hello and welcome to the cat forum! So glad you found us. I have my cat dewormed once a year, but I believe if kitty is an outdoor cat, it can be done every six months. Only thing is, I've read that the de-worming meds are hard on kitties system so six months might be too much. Hopefully, someone with more knowledge can give you a for sure answer.
Avatar m tn anyways i have came to conclusion that i think i have worms....i say this because i have had a cat for the past 16 years..and never even got checked out..shes an indoors cat...well i believe i might have worms in my heart. im not sure about it....but i dont know if they can live in my heart or even eat up my heart...i do get worried and im just lookin for answers...
2089807 tn?1348062748 s been on wormer for two weeks, hes only ten weeks old but the worms he has can only be killed by a shot. And he is strictly a inside cat but vet said he got them from fleas which means there coming from my mother in laws dog because she goes outside. Needless to say I am one ill mommy!
Avatar n tn She had a runny nose and prescribed Cefa Drops 15 ml...1/2 cc daily. She also was treated for Tape worms. The worms are coming out in her stool. She has been on the medicine for a week and one day. She is nearly lifeless. She is staggering if she does get up. She won't use litter box. She has a bowel movement and it is hard and sticking to her long fur. Not sure what to think and looking for advise.
Avatar f tn Does not look like it. My cat had something similar and it was the starting of food allergies. Good luck.
Avatar n tn My 8 year old cat recently started coughing, not the ususal hair ball stuff, and I can hear him breath. His lung sound "wet" . I started giving him some over the counter hairball remedy and think he may have aspirated some liquid. Today is Sunday. My vet is not open today but will take him to emergency if I have to. He is drinking and eating, his gums are pink. Should I go to emergency?
Avatar f tn My cat can't seem to sit still or get comforable. she keeps moving after every minutes and every time she moves she licks her bottom, whats wrong with her and how do i her her?
Avatar f tn t know that coughing is NOT NORMAL till i took him and found out he had pneumonia. What I was told is unless your cat is coughing up a hairball, coughing is not normal; and the impaired breathing definitely sounds like something is not right-please bring your cat to the vet right away.
Avatar n tn This means that a test can say the animal is clear of worms, but maybe your cat is not! I also went about cleaning up his poo for about a month, to prevent reinfection. Also, obviously you should sterilize his litter pan and feed/water dishes, and if he goes outside a lot, check around the house for any rodent carcasses and bury them. Consider giving your cat a quick bath. If he just recently became an adult cat, could be he's developed an allergy to milk.
