I've been getting allergic symptoms (runny nose, blocked sinuses, sneezing, itching eyes) on and off the past few years. I get it during spring, but I'm also getting symptoms at this time of year (I'm in the UK). I've noticed it's worse at my parents house, so it's unlikely to be dust (they dust more than me!) or their cat since I also have a cat. Any ideas?
Other symptoms of a kitty with URI include coughing, runny nose and watery eyes. Antibiotics is one of the things that could help your cat get through this, but you'd have to go to the vet.

Also, if you have a cat or dog, you could be getting repeated eye infections from either one. Check for runny eyes, and take them to a vet if they do. I got 2 or 3 eye infections from my cat before the eye doc asked me about pets. The cat's eyes were a little wet, but weren't red or anything. I treated him for an eye infection and his runny eyes stopped and my eye infections stopped coming back.
Plus ive had headaches, runny and blocked nose, watery eyes, itchy eyes and extremely bloodshot eyes that keep coming and going, and also a raspy voice sometimes.
I have been to the doctors last week and they gave me hayfever tablets, but they don't seem to really work as im still feeling the same or sometimes slightly worse.

About a week ago, I started experiencing choking on my own saliva, especially while trying to talk. My tongue stays sore approximately 50% of my waking hours, occasionally my throat hurts but not often. I have a dry hacking cough, mostly in the mornings and at night. ALL OF A SUDDEN this evening my throat became scratchy, then I developed a cough and runny nose. After a few hours I could hear congestion in my chest. After a few cups of hot team with honey, lemon and a little brandy i spit up a greenish color mucus that eventually turned clear. Most of the rattle in my chest is gone, but my throat is sore and I do not have a fever. What is going on???
Getting a cold or the influenza virus is nothing to do with being pregnant.
It is just coincidental that you have experienced this at the beginning of each of your pregnancies.
We catch colds and flu when our immune system is lowered and we have been exposed to the airborne virus by people coughing and sneezing. Germs are also passed by they hands and if the virus is on your hands and you touch your eyes, you will have contaminated yourself by that way too.
