contractions

Avatar n tn s try this again my induction date is set for January 15th and I just want some helpful words on what to expect/ what I should make sure I have when I go in just what I should need/ expect and some words or encouragement!
Avatar f tn I'm being induced Sunday night. I'm so nervous! Dr. stripped my membrane today and that was the most painful thing I've ever experienced. And now that I felt that for a few seconds I know labor is gonna be 10x worst and it scares me to death! I'm having contractions now and slight blood let's see if I make it till Sunday!
Avatar f tn Mommies please don't loose hope. This is my story; On the 30th of Dec last year I was told that I had a missed miscarriage.i was so shocked(having had two previous pregnancies with no issues).i attributed it to a few days of alcohol consumption before I knew I was pregnant.a week later I went to my usual OB and was told that my HCG levels are rising.we saw a heartbeat.i developed severe tooth infection and was on antibiotics.
Avatar f tn I watched some moms blog video that had ten tips.. One of her tips was think of contractions like your pushing it out of your body, sounds weird but they only last about 30 seconds so to keep a positive mind and act as if the contractions were going through your head and out your feet... Hopefully when the day comes it'll be a lot easier done than said ahaha!

Avatar f tn So I'm 28 weeks today and I had a scare this past weekend...my cervix was effaced and I was 1 cm dilated...i was rushed in an ambulance to the hospital...doctors were pretty much telling me that my baby girl was trying to arrive! But with prayer, support and meds we managed to stop my contractions, my cervix is closed and now I'm.confined to.bedrest! I'm just so scared because now I feel like any movement I make she will try to come again...
973741 tn?1342342773 Words, they can get us in all sorts of trouble. We can use them carelessly. We can spew venom with them when angry. We can leave marks on someone forever with our words. WE may not be aware when we say something that this thing --- these words will be with that person forever! Have you ever had something said to you by someone else that you've carried with you your whole life?
4403438 tn?1403636499 Ok so I'm stressing about labor! Lol this is my third pregnancy so you'd think I'd have this but last two were awful bc of different reasons. First son I went into labor 34 days before DD. Was in active labor for 2 wks (yes 14 days) without dialating & being sent home each of the 5 Times I went to L&D. Finally feb 26th 2003 (20 days until DD) after 4 hrs after being admitted I pushed for an hr and had my healthy 5lb 11oz baby boy!
Avatar f tn also, just because thousands of women give birth everyday, that does not mean this process is easy on our bodies and minds. just because it is natural and women were made to have babies, does not mean that there isn't a lot of pain and adjustments to make. for someone with other complicating health conditions, they need to take it much easier than before pregnancy because their strength is going into creating a human life at the expense of their own health.
Avatar f tn Had anyone ever had a labor that just wasn't very painful? Like, the contractions never became unbearable or anything? Or have you ever heard of someone who just didn't feel much pain while in labor?
Avatar f tn I'm 37weeks with my second. My first was emergency c-section due to preeclampsia... I was in L&D last night due to contractions 2&3 min apart for approximately 3 hours... increasing in strength. They stated at 3 min. I'm concerned because that is what I thought was the signs to look for and when they checked I was only 1/2 centimeter dialated :-( with no progression for an hour.
Avatar f tn I know my baby girl will eventually come on her own but I was told that clary sage oil if you put a little on your stomach with a carrying oil it will help with somewhat speed up the dilation with contractions. So another words help labor along but not start labor. I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this or knows of anyone that does?

Avatar f tn So its my first pregnancy and I came to the emergency room with severe abdominal pain and pressure and they took me straight to L&D I'm 30+4 by the way. They hooked me up to the monitors and apparently I'm having contractions like crazy... they gave me an IV and some medicine to stop them hopefully it works. They also checked my cervix and that was normal.

Avatar f tn They kept me for about 2 hours and I wasnt dilated but they watched a little longer because I was having contractions every 5 min. Well I left and they have continued. They told me no more sec until I go see the doctor. I've read to just drink water to help but I'm getting really annoyed by these cramps or contractions. Has anyone else gone through this. What helped? I know I'll make it through this but it's getting difficult. Words of support or advice needed.
Avatar n tn I went to the hospital for contractions they were not marking down so they thought the baby was moving head down so they checked my cervix three times they felt a ball thinkinking it was the shoulder so they sent me home so at 5 am i woke up to a lot of blood so i went back with contractions stillll was not catching them?
Avatar f tn ll have this baby in March instead of April. Been having contractions for a few wks, starting to becoming very regular now!! Can't wait to hold my baby boy!!
354706 tn?1279470795 My mum went for surgery early this morning. I met up the doctors after the surgery. 'Optimal debulking' - the 2 sweetest words I ever heard. The 3 chemo sessions really help - when the doctors opened up my mother - they found it, in their words 'amazingly clean' and could only see very few small spots of cancer which could be removed easily. No wonder the chemo doctor swear that he is 'very sure' that the cancer would be gone by chemo alone even without the surgery.
5615074 tn?1378316840 Since I have gotten pregnant I cannot stand when people use shorter words for things. For example for some reason I hate when people say "prego" or "preggers" they sound so stupid to me. Or when "ppl tak lyk dis" it just makes me so mad! Anybody else have this problem? It bugged me before, but now I get so mad at it!
