Contractions vs baby

Common Questions and Answers about Contractions vs baby

contractions

Avatar f tn I thought it was false labor. Yesterday I had them all day. I googled false labor vs true labor . And I kept getting contractions even while walking. Still didnt want to call my husband. Waited for him to get home around 10pm. Started to get pain on lower back. Finally I told him to go to the doc. As soon as I arrived at the room bright red blood!! I immediately laid down. After half an hour I heard a pop,my water broke!
Avatar f tn I dont know my doctor said i will no longer have ultrasounds unless she is concerned last time i got to see my baby was on august...

Avatar f tn So when I had my son he came so quickly I didn't have time to get an epidural. Pushing him out didn't really hurt it was the contractions that kicked my ***. Lol. This time around I'm wondering if I should just go for natural again... Im terrified of the epidural because i have scoliosis and i dont want it to make my back pain worse in the long run since im already in alot of pain everyday. Has anybody had a natural and epidural and preferred one to the other.?
Avatar f tn Well when I was induced my contractions were stronger.
Avatar n tn My first I started getting tiny contractions at 4/5 am about 7am lost my mucus plug went to hospital at 8 and my water broke started having bad contractions wasn't fully dilated till 7pm pushed for 2 hours and out came my baby boy.
Avatar n tn My second was an induction. Contractions were much more intense and harder to stay on top of. 5 short intense hours later baby was born. From what I understand of labor, our bodies respond to our contractions to help us cope with the pain. Kind of a natural pain killing effect. With pitocin, a synthetic hormone, the body doesn't respond with the reaction to produce our own "pain killers". (My darn prego brain isn't recalling the names of the hormones.
12476639 tn?1427030691 I early labored for 2 weeks. 2 min part very real contractions. My body would labor for 8 hours and take a break for the day. It is another standard of labor progression, but not unheard of. Once the real process started, I had baby in arms in under 4 hours. I will gladly have a non traditional standard labor pattern if it means pushing for under 30 minutes, and transitioning under an hour.
Avatar f tn so Im just curious how many ladies would rather have the Epidural vs doing it all natural?? i am sort of a sissy when.it comes to pain but i don't want to make the baby loopy or sleepy when he is Bonn.
7913021 tn?1418048620 When you take castor oil, I know you can start getting contractions if your baby is ready & everyone swears that It will put you into labor! My Question is, can you tell a difference between contractions vs. Stomach/bowel cramps? Because it obviously might make you have diarrhea but can you tell the difference between the two kinds of pain???
Avatar f tn I am 39 weeks and a ftm, if baby isn't here by the 29th I'm getting induced. Everyone that I've told has said induction is worse that letting it happen. I want to let it happen, but for medical reasons they're doing it asap after 40 weeks. Has anyone known this to be true? If so, what was about different for you? Was it more painful?
1066572 tn?1296240001 Here's an update: I'm scheduled for an elective C-Sx on Tuesday 1/11/11 since the baby is still breech (due date 1/15/11). I've had BH contractions for several weeks, but started to have real contractions that started yesterday - every 6-8 minutes, no matter what I did (resting, walking, drinking, eating, etc). Finally after 8 hours of this, I went to L&D to get checked out. Cervix closed and high. Contractions eased, baby doing well, was sent home.
Avatar f tn They did a sweep this early bc this is my 3rd baby and the only one i have even dilated with. I went to the er last night and they said i was still a 3 and according to them my contractions werent regular but at home they were....so im home bouncing and walking and squats. I hope i get to 4 soon if not ill see my doc next Wednesday for another sweep if that dont work ill be induced on the 7th.
Avatar f tn Ugh I'm on the same boat with you I'm 36 weeks n been feeling the same!!
7758733 tn?1402589420 I think all labours are different and vary on your baby, with my first I was in labour for 22 hours, pushed for like 45 mins and my baby was 10.6 lbs and 23 inches long, my second labour lasted like half the time of the first one and was way easier, plus she was only 7lbs..
Avatar f tn I went to the doctor today at 40+3 and had an ultra sound to make sure the baby is okay, turns out she's 9 pounds! Has anybody else had a 9 pound baby? Is it a harder labor vs. a 7 pounder?
Avatar f tn Dialation is a tricky thing because you can be up to 3 centimeters dialated but still will not be considered in labor their are other factors that have to take place along with dialated like effacement and the baby birth station (how far up or down in your cervix they are) etc so with that being said it can be tricky to say one is in true labor vs the body leading up to labor
800427 tn?1324945719 as far as i know i havent had any bh my whole pregnancy thus far but as i was sitting at the dinner table tonight i all of a sudden felt this weird gurgle thing...like a cluster of baby kicks but deffinitly wasnt baby kicks and then i felt this squeezing cramping sort of pain that has been coming and going now for the past half hour...and my tummy is hard. i cant feel it softening back and fourth though like i imagined contractions would be like...
