Contractions before the baby

Common Questions and Answers about Contractions before the baby

contractions

Avatar f tn Hi mamas! Question to the ones whom already had a baby or had baby before. Was there anything day or two before you went into labour that you could tell was a sign or part of it? Like I don't know feeling sick, pooping a lot, being more hungry then usual, more tired than usual? ...
Avatar f tn It's probably not milk. Colostrum can change from clear to a yellow to a white milk color.
Avatar f tn It takes a few days for the milk to actually come in. The labor process causes your body to release the Chemical that starts the production of milk.
4268628 tn?1375041176 Hmmm....I'm starting to feel more contractions higher up occasionally....but nothing worth writing home about...more painful than they have been but not enough to really pay much attention to. But then again I have a high pain threshold which doesn't always help things.

1756475 tn?1330538713 I'm planning on working as long as I can but I noticed that baby has for sure dropped in the last 2 days. how long after baby drops do you normally start labour? I haven't had any braxton hicks or if I have I haven't noticed. SO I'm afraid that I won't really realize it until its too late. It's my first and all of a sudden I just got nervous about all this stuff when I realized that he has really dropped. Sad part is that he was super low to begin with.
Avatar f tn Just wondering how long any of you ladies cramped before the actual labor contractions started.
Avatar f tn With my second I had a weird feeling the baby would come that night (no contractions or anything. Just a feeling) so I told my husband and we cleaned the house and got everything ready and we went to bed at about 10pm. I woke up at 2am went to the bathroom and saw some blood (not a lot but enough to know it was time) and strong contractions. I had a home birth that time so we just called the midwife at that point and she came right away. Baby was born 8 hours later.
5048164 tn?1384140281 For those of you that have already had a baby did you get sick before going into labor? I've been sick all day extremely nauseous was having regular contractions earlier but never got close enough together to go to hospital and then they went away.
Avatar f tn It was my first so I wanted to wait and time the contractions before going to the hospital. My husband was out of country and I was staying at my brother's place. I told him I am having contractions and we may have to go to the hospital soon so he decided to stay up with me. We finally went ro the hospital at 5 am in the morning. I was checked there and sent home because I wasn't in "labour".
9309926 tn?1405447056 Maybe my mil was trying to scare me. Cause the contractions I had with my son weren't that bad but they did hurt.
Avatar f tn m 34+5, and already 2cm and 50% effaced, this is my second, I had my first at 36 weeks, Ive already had my labor stopped twice with this one, I tiink its gona be Friday, on the full moon lol but with my first I woke up one morning and started my day normally, took the dog for a walk came back in and started eating some crackers, and at 841 I had my first contraction, then they kept on regularly every 8 mins and by the time I was on the way to the hospital they were 4 mins apart, ans I was only a
Avatar n tn It could be early Labour but could just be the natural contractions of your uterus preparing itself for Labour. Some people's cervix undergo a small dilation for a couple of weeks before they start active Labour. Hope all goes well!
Avatar f tn They say the baby really slows down before birth. But my sister-in-law just had her baby and said he was moving around during birth. I guess in between contractions. Im confused cuz im 39+5 and yesterday my baby was moving non stop and today he is slow and barely moving. So has anyone ever paid attention to the baby moving before or during labor?
7656727 tn?1404157447 How did u feel? Did u have a feeling the baby was coming? Were you extra tired? Did u know?
Avatar f tn I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and a ftm and I was wondering if you can have contractions before your water breaks? Because I keep having Braxton hicks contractions but my water hasn't broke and they are becoming more and more severe...
229857 tn?1319029907 I agree with JoyRenee. I am just at 34 weeks and 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced. I was the same way wtih my daughter and held out for 38 weeks (started at 28 wks). I'm crampy and have contractions too (now on meds for it along with strict bedrest). When they're regular and the closer apart the contractions are and more intense, you'll be ready to, and trust me... the contractions just before birth will definitely let you know your little one is about to make it's debut. lol.
1977983 tn?1328208193 I actually had a huge burst of energy starting a few days before. I had been having contractions for quite some time, but other then that, the day I went into labor was just like any other. Congrats on your impending delivery!! So close now, this is such an exciting time.
Avatar f tn Pressure would be the baby moving way down and cramps the start of contractions discharge my be your mucus plug. It wouldn't hurt to go get checked out and see what they have to say or try walking to get things moving faster first. Good luck momma!!
Avatar f tn I just had my baby on the 13th, and when I was in labor I still felt my baby boy kick and stuff.
Avatar f tn Same here 3 days till my due date, I've been to the hospital 4 times. Haven't dilated any but having contractions every 4 to 5 mins. The doctor said the contractions aren't strong enough. Last time i went it was a very bad experience, and I don't want to deliver there anymore.

Avatar f tn Theg give you alittle button to push when you feel the baby move. Its just to make sure the baby isnt being bothered by still being in there cause of being so big by that time. I had my test last friday and they did an ultrasound to check my fluids, which is just a basic ultrasound.
Avatar n tn yes I was, but I didn't want to get into the Tandom feeding. And yeah I am engorged :( same feeling I had with my daughter when I was weaning her right before I foundout I was pregnant. My doc said to pump and just give it to my daughter or freeze it. But I can't get anything out by pumping. ( TMI ) but it's just pouring if I hand express or lean forward. Not really sure what else to do that will ease the pain !
