Common Questions and Answers about Contractions using you

contractions

Avatar f tn The nifedical should slow down the contractions, or at least make them milder. It may give you headaches or make you retain water. Depending on how far along you are though, it could be pretty important to keep them stopped, so follow your doctor's good advice. Congratulations in advance.

Avatar f tn I'm 39+3. Thats the app I'm using now. And my contractions are atleast 5-7 minutes apart. I'm just hoping he comes soon because I don't wanna get induced..
7716176 tn?1393947986 What were you doing when you're water broke? And how long before you went into labor after it broke?
Avatar f tn You just twist and pull with your fingers in 15 minute intervals, but once you stop the uterus will stop. The contractions do come pretty strong as well.
Avatar f tn I hope this meant labor for you! I felt like that all night and am miserable. Contractions never became regular, just slightly painful and very uncomfortable. I hardly slept at all, blah.
Avatar f tn I'm not worried about the pain, I wanted to go natural :/ but mostly just worried about baby, was your baby's heart beat out of control during the contractions? Or did it drop?
Avatar f tn What are you ladies doing to try to kick start labour?
Avatar f tn Do you have to have contractions in order to dialate? I keep reading storys of women saying " oh im dialated to 2 and didnt even know it" hows that even possible?
Avatar f tn So its normal to have contractions every timei have a bm? That doesn't seem to make sense /: anyone else?
Avatar n tn Contractions hurt like a b****, but nah you dont need the epidural :) all depends on your pain tolerance
Avatar n tn I don't have to use the bathroom it slowed down after an hour but now I contract hard when I have to fart this is something new started today
Avatar f tn My due date was Sept 8, 2014 but my daughter was quite comfy so I got scheduled for induction on Sept 9. At 7:30am I was brought to the l&d room where they set up the monitors and everything. At 9:30 they started pitocin which didn't do much to help dilate me more I was already at 4cm. The contractions were more painful then i ended up being able to handle so i got the epidural. At noon the doc came in and broke my water which made me automatically go to 5cm.
6520484 tn?1399082398 So I've been timing my contractions for the last while and they are about 60 seconds long 5 - 7 minutes apart. I expected them to be more painful though? And now my little guy has the hiccups. Did anyone else have these kind of contractions? They are tightening with back and abdominal pain. Even when I adjust positions they are continuing.
Avatar f tn Especially being a FTM, you dont know if what you are having is light contractions or just normal aches and pains. But, its not like you can feel it opening when slowly dialating.
Avatar m tn Well when you are in labor you are dialating, and you can feel the contractions. The contractions push baby downward and cause the cervix to dialate. But some women will dialate to about 3 cm and not even realize it and this can happen weeks before labor. So in general what you will feel are contractions which causes dialations, but you're not actually feeling the dialation itself. did you mean cervix is completely shot or short?
905197 tn?1282232033 ll be able to see your belly harden if it really is contractions. If you think you are having them, call your doctor and they will advise you. Good luck!!!
Avatar f tn Braxton Hicks and contractions are two seperate things. When you are in labor, contractions are what happens when you dial ate is the best way to explain it. Braxton hicks feel like contractions but its more like muscle spasms.
Avatar f tn ( what are you moms using for moisturizer on your skin? Any amazing products? I spent around 100 dollar's on cream and it didn't even help a little. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn I was 39 +1
Avatar f tn I am asking people who have SUCCESSFULLY gone into labor after drinking castor oil. Anyhow, has castor oil worked for any of you ladies? If so, how far along were you when you tried it? How long was it before you started going into labor (or had labor symptoms)? And how much did you take?
Avatar f tn You will know contractions when they start...some people say it feels like really bad cramps but incant explain how it feels.. to me its way worse than cramps.. also your body will know when its time to push.
Avatar f tn I'm due wed. and I feel your pain! I want the baby out so badly. I don't know if sex works since I haven't had my baby yet but I have been using essential oils and it kick started my contractions. I've also been drinking regular coffee since it's a uterine stimulant and trying to remain upright even through painful contractions. I think the best thing to do right now is relax, I know easier said than done, but getting worked up won't help the baby come out.
Avatar f tn All of this was really helpful. Thank you. Its funny how when you first get pregnant you imagine labor or I did anyway as the first time you experience contractions or feeling off..I didn't expect so many contractions beforehand that were false alarms. I didn't expect so many false alarms period. Its hard for me not to overthink it. I guess ill know or have some clue when d day is here.
Avatar f tn That's what it sounds like. I had them off and on randomly for a few days, then nothing. After 2 days i had those terrible menstrual like cramps and heavy colored discharge; i called in to ask about them, the nurse told me i was in preterm labor. Turns out it was round ligaments and a bruised appendix (he's a kicker), and the back pain from earlier was just Hicks contractions.
