Common Questions and Answers about Concussion symptoms how long they last

concussion

Avatar f tn I suffered a concussion 4 months ago when I fell during a parade with my high school band. My mom took me to the ER and I was diagnosed with a concussion. I had a CT scan and nothing was out of the ordinary, and it seemed to just be a mild concussion. 4 months later, I'm still having issues. I'm a junior in high school and concentration and memory issues made me switch out of all of my honors classes into regular ones and drop both math and science completely.
Avatar f tn How long is post concossive syndrome suppose to last, I was in an automobile accident 5 months ago and still suffering from this diagnosis according to my Neurologist. Is there anyone out there that has going thru this, I am read to be normal.
Avatar f tn I would rather have my MRI read in Cleveland. I wonder how long a person can have concussion symptoms. If the symptoms should have disappeared by now, I have to wonder if it is the Chiari that is worse bc of the hard hit on the head.

Avatar f tn Also I am incredibly unbalanced and all of these symptoms worsened after my last concussion which happened to be my fifth. From this one I had a report of severe concussion with mild amnesia, which four months later has not gone away. I also exhibit no abnormalities in my eyes. Sorry I forgot to include this before.
Avatar m tn A concussion can last for weeks after the head injury. The symptoms too vary from person to person. Headache, confusion, memory loss, dizziness, nausea vomiting, slurred speech and fatigue are common. Delayed symptoms include depression, irritability, sleep disturbances, seizures, loss of smell etc. A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere.
Avatar f tn For my nausea i am taking meclizine and phenergan. My question is typically how long will the auditory hallucinations last. They came on suddenly, several months after all of the other symptoms had already shown up. They scare me some and just make me feel uneasy. Somedays they are much louder than others. They are especially loud in the middle of the day and at nights lasting until about 3am. It is so hard to sleep, really i do not sleep much at all.
Avatar n tn He has had 3 CT scans in that time. The last concussion was almost two weeks ago. He still has headaches and some fogginess. How worried should we be about long-term damage? When will the headaches go away?
Avatar f tn G'day. I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right area-don't know where else to put it. I've had a concussion for about 9 days now with "usual, mild-average" symptoms. The last couple days have been like the first couple days, cannot rest my head at night from the pain, taking two 650 mg Tylenols when I think of it, also seem more confused & forgetful (before major loss of sleep). The last 48 hrs. I've slept for 40 min's.
Avatar n tn I am also lightheaded and my ears are somewhat plugged(ear pressure). I was wondering how long a nerve takes to heal itself, or does it? Is the dizziness a result of the injury or a seperate issue?
580667 tn?1234580952 I've done some searching on the Web about anxiety attacks and how long they last. Most of the places I've looked at said they usally last 10-20 minutes. This has been a little distressting. When I'm having an attack, it can last up to an hour. My anxiety starts off mild, then gets progressively worse, then goes back down. Maybe my actual attack is only 10-20 minutes and the rest is just residual anxiety, but I'm not really sure. SO...

Avatar n tn Generally, such symptoms may result due to post-concussion syndrome and may last for weeks or months after the injury that caused from the injury of a fall, vehicle accident, or sports injury. For treatment approach, first it is essential to get (MRI) done to detect the brain or spinal abnormalities after that injury. Treatment commonly may be suggested for symptoms such as pain-killers, some antidepressants, physical therapy and regular exercises.
