Avatar m tn s been a year since his last concussion and he is making slow progress, but progress. Still has mood swings, ADD, and sleeplessness, but has made nice gains. He went on a flight to Scottland to visit a friend and seemed fine while in Scottland, but seemed to have regressed in symptoms when he returned home. Mood swings returned significantly and his choices and behaviors reflect significant impairment of executive function ability.
Avatar f tn Hello my 11 year old son suffered a gr.2 concussion during a hockey game. He had a MRI which showed the brain was fine but after 3 months he still hasn't gone one day without getting a headache. He is itching to run around and play. Can he run, jump, ride a bike even if he is still getting headaches or should he do no physical activity even after 3 months? We're trying physio. now to see of it helps.
Avatar f tn I went snowboarding yesterday and hit my head twice, hard and now have been having headaches, dizziness and sleepiness. I do not think I have a concussion because my pupils still dilate. I'm not sure whats going on but I need to know if it is serious or not since I play hockey and I don't want to say anything until I have had a second opinion.
Avatar n tn My brother is 17 and suffered a concussion last year in football. At the beginning of this year he started getting migranes with blurred vision about once a month. But lately he has been getting them more frequently with the blurred vision and this morning he needed help down the stairs. Should my family be concerned or is it just foods he is eating being so young.

Avatar n tn I was hit from behind when playing ball hockey and I suffered a concussion after I went head first into the goalie. I had a cat scan done and it was normal immediately after the hit. Its been 11 months and everytime I try a light exercise for example walking around the block for about 20 minutes I get headaches. I used to swim, jog and play sports regularly and now since the accident I have gained a lot weight and don't know what to do to stay active.
Avatar f tn Thanks, I have had an inter ear infection a few years back and it seemed I had a mild one, Still the fact that my head is so hyper sensitive since the concussion is frustrating and difficult to deal with.
Avatar m tn 5 days ago I took a hockey puck to the back of my head. It deflected into the bench, and I ducked but it took a bounce off the glass and struck me on the rear upper left side of my head. I had blurry vision immediately but was not unconscious. I didn't think much of it at the time.
Avatar f tn Concussions and other brain injuries results from high-contact sports such as football, boxing, wrestling and hockey. Aside from headache, other symptoms noted are dizziness, lightheadedness, memory loss, nausea or vomiting, blurred vision and sensitivity to light, difficulty in concentrating or with balance. For complex concussion, symptoms may last longer than 7-10 days. Have her rest and to avoid any activities. It is also important to avoid loud, bright, busy environments.
Avatar f tn Around 2 -3 years ago i got an mri so they could make sure i didn’t have optic nerve damage after a possible concussion. Results came back and said no nerve damage however i did have results “consistent with” a chiari malformation. i planned on being a firefighter and have never had any chiari symptoms to his day (almost 20 now) but i don’t want to cause symptoms from a strenuous job. I lift weights pretty much everyday and played hockey all my life neither have caused any symptoms.
Avatar m tn I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture. My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.
Avatar n tn since you mention that you played a lot of sports, specifically hockey at a high level and are on the pump if you can past along advice or personal experiences it would be much appreciated.
Avatar f tn t show anything. Cardioligist did an echocardiogram and said all physical parts are there and he has low blood pressure and to increase his salt intake. 1930941 tn?1400107522 Hello All... I wanted to thank everyone even those who are not fans of the Pitt Pens... for your constant help and support this past 300 days. It has been 300 days since I popped a pain pill or tasted alcohol... and life is good. I don't miss any of the stress that goes with that life. I never have to hide pills or bottles from my family. I don't have to worry how my breath smells.... And my family trust me again.. (most of the time...
Avatar f tn I know the symptoms I have are a part of the concussion but they are bad (bec I already have the chiari symptoms) and it has been since Friday and I still feel HORRIBLE! I see a chiari specialist at the end of the month but in the mean time could this hitting my head on the wall possibly made things worse? (I did not have a ct for the concussion, the dr. just diagnosed me by my symptoms and what happened).
382218 tn?1341181487 department stores, restaurants and small businesses ransacked; several people beaten and four stabbings! Way to represent one of most beautiful cities in the world. Sad to watch this play out in my former home. Morons. For anyone who planned to visit there some day, please don't let this change your mind. It's normally one of the most laif back, mellow and friendly places you'd ever visit.
6520484 tn?1399082398 m home watching Alone and need to tell someone about this game! The Boston Montreal game. It is crazy, I keep holding my breath and and sitting on the edge of my seat. It's going into double overtime. My heart is racing and it's making my little guy go nuts in my belly haha.
Avatar f tn The impact of the ball caused the concussion, and the shape of his pupil is now oval. I took him to a pediatric opthamologist who did a thorough exam. He said there is no lasting damage other than the shape of the pupil, but he needed glasses. When he "recovered" from the concussion three weeks later, he tried to go back to baseball but could no longer judge the speed and distance of the ball. He had to quit. He has been moody and pesting ever since the concussion.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctors, he said it allergies. So roughly a couple months go by and I was playing in a hockey game and I got hit the wrong way, my parents thought I had a concussion so we went to doctors he said I did. Then my symptoms just kept deteriorating and getting worse. They got so bad that I missed part of my sophmore year, and all of junior year being home schooled.
Avatar n tn A translation of that possible diagnosis would be greatly appreciated!! FYI, she is a high level hockey player and was knocked out in a game over a year ago. She was diagnosed with a 2nd degree concussion. Last May she had an "episode" which was diagnosed as vertigo. Thank you for any assistance you can offer in the translation of those daunting words in the report. March seems such a LONG way off and as you can understand we are VERY concerned about her.
Avatar f tn Each brain injury is unique and try to get some one who can listen to you and may be a concussion specialist if you can. I am even considering Stem Cell Therapy for which I have to travel outside U.S.A. Keep me posted if you can.
