Avatar f tn I got a concussion about 3 months ago at a cheer competition when a girl fell and elbowed me in the face. I didn’t get knocked unconscious but I blacked out for 3 or 4 seconds. Immediately after my performance I went to the athletic trainer who performed an assessment and asked what my symptoms were. Immediately I had a headache, I saw halos around lights, and I felt like I was in a dream state.

I see a chiari specialist at the end of the month but in the mean time could this hitting my head on the wall possibly made things worse? Avatar f tn Hello! I'm seeing my dentist on Monday so I'll ask him this but in the meantime, I thought I'd ask here! After a long time without going to the dentist due to a mental issue (agoraphobia), I got a filling done on a cavity that I've had for a while. The cavity was deep, but not so deep that I needed a root canal. My dentist told me it'd be sensitive for a week or so, but to talk to him if it gets worse or if there's any throbbing pain.

Avatar m tn s been a year since his last concussion and he is making slow progress, but progress. Still has mood swings, ADD, and sleeplessness, but has made nice gains. Mood swings returned significantly and his choices and behaviors reflect significant impairment of executive function ability.
Avatar f tn At times a subdural hematoma develops slowly and may be missed on the first MRI. Also concussion can cause persisting headaches and should be allowed to slowly subside before active sports are considered. Injury to neck, to jaw bone, and even eyes should be considered. Get his eye sight also checked. May be the headaches are because he needs spectacles. -Take care!
Avatar m tn One thinks I had a concussion and am still feeling some of the effects, another thinks I had an inner ear virus with anxiety for the chest pain. I have also seen Optometrists who diagnosed me as needing glasses (low prescription lens) and after a field tests noticed I failed to see some points in my left eye in the same area. Prior to this point I have always had good vision. This is an issue that has severely impacted my life. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn The impact of the ball caused the concussion, and the shape of his pupil is now oval. I took him to a pediatric opthamologist who did a thorough exam. He said there is no lasting damage other than the shape of the pupil, but he needed glasses. When he "recovered" from the concussion three weeks later, he tried to go back to baseball but could no longer judge the speed and distance of the ball. He had to quit. He has been moody and pesting ever since the concussion.

This is also hypothetical and one quick way to rule it out would be to check your blood pressure. If it's normal, than that theory would be ruled out.
