Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone has had several CBC's and had slightly elevated white blood count? The last 3-4 times in which I've had a complete blood count they notice that it's elevated but not to the point where it becomes a concern ( so the doctor says) but I still find it strange.

Then they do a microscopic count of 100 cells and take a percentage for a total of 100% so your other cells were a tiny bit high which through off the percentage of other cells. The Eosinophils are present sometimes with an allergy or parasitic infection. But they are not that high. Same with the Lymphocytes it was only a tiny bit high. You could have been fighting a virus or allergy. Is your fever and pulse rate normal now?
Avatar f tn I am still having difficulties understanding this. My question is, would a complete blood count display levels of HSV1 or 2? I have had a cbc in the past and have never been returned with abnormal counts of anything. I have not yet received my test results. Thank you.

Avatar m tn Is this the pen sticking in your leg thing? If you mean a CBC (complete blood count) as a regular blood panel, no you can't determine HCV from that. An HCV antibody test would be a good start.

Some times the tests are done and the report not uploaded on the computer due to technical delays. So if you do not get them by tomorrow, yes, definitely follow this up. Hope this helps. Take care!
