Avatar n tn Have you tried washing him down with ice water? Some use lots of rags, wet them in a little tub & lay them on his body. Then repeat. Or put him in a bath tub with cold, cold water in it & wash him off. Good luck & God Bless!! Will put you in my prayers!
Avatar n tn I am posting this question since I found an almost identical question posted by a 27 year old who had Kawasaki Syndrome as a child and now has seizures. My daughter had Kawasaki at age 18. It took two trips to the emergency room before she was finally diagnosed correctly. She was tested for heart complications for the next two to three years but has not been tested since then.
Avatar m tn Atypical Kawasaki disease is mostly a term used when infants less than a year of age present with persistent fevers without the other classic criteria for Kawasaki. It is not the norm to see "atypical" Kawasaki in older children. usually they have the more complete forms, although all of the signs need not be present at the same time. Kawasaki is a diagnosis of exclusion.
Avatar f tn Has a teenage girl ever been diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease? My daughter matches every single symptom, but she's 17.
Avatar n tn My 101/2 yr. old daughter returned from a ski trip to CO for Spring Break Saturday, and for the last couple of days her skin has been peeling off her fingers and the skin is red and raw looking. It doesn't seem to bother her, but I'm concerned. Other information I've found said the cold frigid weather / moisture could have been the cause and to simple treat with Aveeno or some other moisturizer.
Avatar f tn I had a neck fusion in Oct. 2007 as my legs were giving out. I have been left with a right hand that feels like ice on the inside all the time and tingles all the time. Now the top of my right foot is cold for no reason. Just started this week, what should I do?
Avatar f tn Her pediatrician ex her sd she had a virus. Then an ER trip suggested Kawasaki disease and white blood cell alarm in her urine. It was only day 4 of fever so we were sent home cuz she was hydrated. Said come bk after day 5 of fever which we did that ER doc said he wld not treat for Kawasaki becuz no rash. He sd she had swollen lymph nodes and sent us home again. 6th day no fever all of a sudden. I let her rest indoors a few days and return to light playing.
Avatar f tn My son, who had Kawasaki Syndrome as a child, has had irregular heart beat and some chest pain off and on since a young teen. He has been seen by cardiologists, including one in Japan who is experienced in treating adults who had Kawasaki as a child. No cause has been found for his irregular heartbeat or the fact that his EKG seems to indicate an enlarged heart. I suspect that he could have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, based on his symptoms.
Avatar m tn fusion was from T11 to sacrum. It feels like there is a "slab" covering the fused area out to 3 inches either side of the spine. It is not painful. I have lower back pain, mild 24////7. It intensifies to major pain if I stand for more than 5 - 10 minutes. It intensifies with any activity involving any lifting, turning stooping etc. I am able to walk with a cane 1//2 mile, 1////4 mile without. I use a treadmill for longer exercise, but must support myself wiht the arms.
Avatar f tn Interesting! My daughter also had Kawasaki Syndrome at age 3 and she is now suffering PVCs. They have her on a monitor to see what the best course of treatment might be. She is now 33. I, too, wonder if there is a connection with the Kawasaki's.
Avatar n tn My 21 daughter had very red shiny palms and bottoms of feet for 7-14 days which was painful to hot/cold temp changes and she could not stand for long periods in one spot due to pain on bottoms of her feet. Blood tests were ran and all was fine for inflamation, thyroid, infection, etc...and gave her a wk schedule of prednisone to eliminate pain. Possibly thought to have raynauds, administered norvac (sp?), however, she's since quit taking that at her own disgretion.
Avatar f tn the treatment of listhesis is fixation and not fusion (fusion is the oldest naming maybe still used by some radiologist), SURE your vertebra are fused even if you still have some heaviness in the lower parts of your back.. this is suffucient to have screws at place to say thatthe patient is fused.
Avatar m tn Since the rash is on both hands, and on the backs of the hands, it seems you can rule out any kind of insect bite or contact rash like poison ivy. Does he have a fever? The first thing that springs to mind is Kawasaki disease, but that's sort of rare. How is he today? Can you take him to his pediatrician?
1070553 tn?1255325240 I forgot to mention that it was a bit cold for us here, about 69 degree F. (Cold for houston , tx) lol but he never had this issue before.
Avatar n tn I had a lumbar fusion with screws 1 yr ago. Recently I have experienced some pressure where the screws are and the other day my wife she said I was bruised in the same area as my pain. My question is, since I have not bumped into anything, is if the screws that are inside can cause bruising on the outside?
Avatar f tn At 13 weeks I was still riding my Kawasaki ninja. Even now i still ride my bike & I feel amazing. A body in motion stays in motion. A body at rest stays in rest. You may feel exhausted but you got it in you Hun. You're pregnant. Not disabled. Try something like.... Yoga. Or... Pregnant friendly Zumba. Or... Walk at the park with pets or... Just something.
Avatar n tn Good luck with ur fusion surgery!!
Avatar f tn My daughter had kawasaki when she was 4. After a full treatment that included trips to scan her heart, the doctor declared her free from the effects of Kawasaki. However, every now and then my daughter suffers from red fingertips that peel. At first we thought it was an allergy but having elimated all the possibilities we are now asking her to wear cream gloves. There is also a concern of her lack of growth. She has a healthy appetite but does not put on weight despite her inactivity.
Avatar m tn I wash every day or atleast every other day and change clothes regulary. I have recently just had a cold in which I was taking some cold and flu tablets and thought it might have been that, but I have taken the same tablets before with no side effects. I also have recently started exercising again for about a couple of weeks but stopped once I felt the cold picking up and have just recently started again now that the cold has gone.
701581 tn?1279136038 I am sorry your son is having seizures. I know it is very frightening. I am not in a position to answer your question but I think your friend must be referring to the information that came out with John Travolta's son's death. They were referring to a different disease (kawasaki syndrome) and said that it can be caused by chemicals in carpet cleaning liquids. So I doubt that the carpet removal has anything to do with your sons seizures.
Avatar n tn I did read that gingers, like green onion, garlic, Sichuan pepper, pepper and chili, are considered hot ingredients and harmful to people with diseases hot in nature, of which hepatitis is one. Other "hot" diseases include common cold, dysentery, psychosis, diabetes, cancer, nephritis, rheumatism, wintercough, high blood pressure, etc. As for vitamins, they need to come from vegetables/fruits, not from labs.
Avatar f tn I had ACDF with a titanium plate at C5-C6 and I swear that when it is really cold outside that I can feel the coldness of the actual titanium plate. Is this actually possible and does anyone else experience this? It is not painful, just noticible.
Avatar n tn I have noticed that gamma globulin is given when there is too much exposure to this chemical such as in carpet cleaners (Kawasaki syndrome) and it helps back off the symptoms of that. seems to help with autoimmune action against the platelets, so maybe red blood cells and joint pain, too? Do you have FATIGUE?
Avatar n tn I would be sure to see that he is not exposed to cleaning products or carpet cleaning chemicals. (The organic solvent/ pesticide 2-butoxyethanol, butyl ... or ethylene glycol monobutyl ether is the worst culprit.) Has he had a serious flu, even if not recently? An ongoing 'cold' or diarrhea episodes unrelated to what he ate? If so, what was going on just previously? That might tell you what the exposure is.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Norco 10/325 at 5 to 6 a day for disc fusion at C5-6 level for 4 years now. Presently starting second day of detox. It is a forced detox as no refills filled on a holiday. My situation is I have another fusion (C6-7) on Thursday and would like to not have to go through this insanity again. Any information would be greatly useful.
