612551 tn?1450022175 I use to take Plavix (Clopidogrel as clopidogrel hydrogen sulfate). It likes the blood thinner as you described above. No need blood test and it won't cause excessive bleeding. It has been approved in Australia for a while. It comes with clopidogrel 75mg 28 tablets in a box. Cost AUD $82.79 for no medicare patient. I have been diagnosed TIA. I also have a history of low platelets (ITP) so I can't take Warfarin nor Aspirin. The neurologist prescribed this Plavix for me.
Avatar m tn Some bacteria change calcium sulfate, the major component of wallboard, into hydrogen sulfide. If construction and demolition debris contain large quantities of wallboard, large amounts of hydrogen sulfide can be formed. Production is greatest when the wallboard is finely crushed and when there is little oxygen, such as when the debris is buried and soaked with water.
Avatar n tn Dilute rubbing alcohol or Hydrogen Peroxide and do a wash with that (pat dry). You could try some topical zinc sulfate cream (a bit messy unless you are shaved). Or you could try to change up your diet and see if that helps (i.e. try some apple cider vinegar drinks, take coconut oil, plenty of fresh veggies, etc.
Avatar n tn I am presently using Advair 2x day and an albuterol sulfate inhaler several times daily. I have believe I also have thrush. This has been going on for since October of 2007. Besides the inhalers my Dr. treated me for thrush a couple of months ago. He has referred me to a Pulminologist who has had me do breathing tests and a CT scan. I go in soon for the results.
Avatar n tn Some people can smell hydrogen sulfide at very low levels, as low as 0.5 parts per billion (ppb) in air. Most hydrogen sulfide in the air comes from natural sources. It is produced when bacteria break down plant and animal material, often in stagnant waters with low oxygen content such as bogs and swamps. Volcanoes, hot springs and underwater thermal vents also release hydrogen sulfide.

Avatar m tn It can decompose urea to produce ammonia, and can also produce indole and hydrogen sulfide in the intestine. First of all, proteus can decompose urea to produce ammonia. We have all heard the smell of ammonia. The smell of urine in the toilet is the smell of ammonia. Therefore, the urine odor of PATM patients is produced by Proteus. In addition, proteus produces indole and hydrogen sulfide in our intestines. Indole is another name for faecal odor.

690060 tn?1247841741 Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has new data showing that omeprazole (Prilosec/Prilosec OTC)—a medicine used to reduce stomach acid—reduces the anti-blood clotting effect of clopidogrel (Plavix) by almost half when these two medicines are taken by the same patient." Avatar n tn If a patient has drug eluding stent (DES) implant it is recommended that plavix (clopidogrel) be prescribed up to a year to help prevent blood clots with the implant. If one has A-fib there is a risk that blood clots can occur as blood may pool due to the very fast beat. Information regarding the use of the 2 anti-platelet together can present a problem and the source is MedinceNet.com.

Avatar n tn After six years post MI and ef varying between 25-35%, my cardiologist now feels that I should shift from aspirin(150)+clopidogrel (75) to warfarin. Two years back he did tell me that he is double minded on whether to put me on warfarin. But this time he appears to be very sure and has insisted me to go for warfarin. His justification is "that is what literature says". I have no AF or valve problem.
Avatar m tn New data show that when clopidogrel and omeprazole are taken together, the effectiveness of clopidogrel is reduced. Patients at risk for heart attacks or strokes who use clopidogrel to prevent blood clots will not get the full effect of this medicine if they are also taking omeprazole.

Avatar m tn In the CAPRIE trial, clopidogrel (plavix) was equivalent to aspirin for patients with a recent (but not acute) MI. Some subgroups of patients with cardiovascular disease in this trial seemed to benefit more from clopidogrel than from aspirin: those with a history of bypass surgery, a prior stroke or MI, arterial disease in two or more areas, diabetes, or high cholesterol. Clopidogrel may be a reasonable choice for these patients.
Avatar m tn Evidence is available from retrospective analysis of the CPARIE trial with clopidogrel that patients who have atherosclerosis in other vascular beds, such as prior ischemic stroke or concurrent peripheral vascular disease, benefit from receiving clopidogrel over aspirin. Some cardiologists have concluded that these patients, who are at higher risk of a subsequent vascular event, would benefit from combined therapy.

Avatar m tn Hello; I have got one coronary DES stent implanted since two month ago ("Endeavor RESOLUTE RX"). I am on clopidogrel, aspirin, atorvastatin, carvedilol, enalapril and pantoprazol. Fearing about scars growing inside the stent's mesh, I have read that some people recommend vitamin E for cosmetic appearance of scars; well, my question is: Could vitamin E be of some help for preventing "in-stent restenosis"? Is it worth trying? Thanks!
