clonidine patch price

anyone know how long the clonidine patch takes to start working, I started using it last night for opiate withdrawls. 6 yrs. of use and it is time to end this vicious cycle; i was taking 60 mg. methadone for a back problem a day. today is day 2.

I have to recommend to anyone who wants to quit cold turkey to try a drug called Clonidine. I am wearing the patch for 7 days and then I take it off. It has helped tremendously with withdrawals. I have been able to eat and no diarrhea. I have had a lot of anxiety in the beginning so I just took Valium. You have to really watch and talk to your doc about what aminos you take if you use the clonidine. look it up and read about it, i highly recommend it.

I was on the Fentanyl patch (1 no 50mg patch and 1 no 75mg patch) for about 6-7 months but wasn't getting on with them. The first doctor I saw told me to just take my patches off and replace it with a 50mg Buphrenorphine one. About 4 hours later I was starting to feel strange and then that evening went into cold turkey. Thought I was dying I felt that bad. Had to call the doctor out, she gave me an injection (can't remember the name of it, was a bit out of it at the time).

As Lulu747 I also used clonidine while tapering off opiates and just wanted off and went cold turkey over a year ago. (morphine sulfate and fentanyl patch). The clonidine did help with my w/d symptoms as well.

So it turns out I'll be on Clonidine (Catapres application patch) for a long time. My psychiatrist says that I've tried all available mood stabilizers (if you know me that's indeed the case, 30 at last count) and its helping on my physical disability as well. So this patch is going to be stuck to me for a while. And so it goes..

sorry everyone my docter gave me the clonidine iam just tired of the pain patch its not working any more and he wants to movee me up in dose i used to be on pills but it was to easy to take extra when my pain got worse and then i would run out early and i would go threw awful withdrawls i got hurt at work and messed up my l-4l-5 and i do not want surgery i feel like if i get some wait off i might be able to deal with the pain i just cant stand being on something that controls my body i was just

I never heard of the clonidine patch, but clonidine itself is a blood pressure med that helps with withdrawal to ease the symptoms. Congrats on your taper hun..keep up the good work!!

I was on 150 patch and I tapered off completely in one month with hardly any w/d symtpoms. My doc did a slow taper od I think 25 mcg every 6 days. Also the clonidine patch made a HUGE difference in helping to wean. No jitters, it was great. Also, he gave me 20 5 mg oxycodones to help if I did feel w/d's. I seriously had no problem whatsoever. Now, I have to take Oxycodone for my disease and I'm trying to wean down and it SUCKS!!! I have terrible w/d's.

hi.....i have never used clonidine but it's suppose to be for high BP and also can be used for anxiety from what i've read. I am on a diff med for high BP. Good luck and hope it works for you! i've read that it helps alot of people calm down thru WDs.

For the last 5 yrs I've been taken the clonidine patch for high BP, no side effects, but the PVC's are still there off and on.

second, my doctor prescribed two clonidine patches for me for any withdrawl symptoms. What do these do ? my doc said it woud basically knock me out...love that of course... but, i am hesitant because i had never heard of it... i know it is a little strange for a prescription lover to be afraid of a new drug...weird. but, i would like to hear about some experiences with people who have tried it before. I am now on jump day #7 , been on the patch 10 days feeling better day by day very mild W/D now , But think the patch is keeping me tired . Will i have a problem if i remove the patch now .

Ok, so I'm slowly tappering off suboxones. I've heard of many on here talk about using a clonidine transdermal patch to help with w/d's. So I was able to obtain a descent amount of this - - only in tablet form, from a relative - - catapres O.2mg tabs.

The only thing I can say about clonidine is that I know someone who isnt an addict but became dependant on lortabs after a surgery,,not being an addict he had the ability to follow his drs tapering schedule and at the last weeks of his taper his dr had him wear a .02 clonidine patch, then .

I know depression can vary in how it occurs and I would be interested to know if people have experienced dissociation during depression because that how it usually appears in me. The Clonidine patch I am is very helpful but it runs out after 5 days (that's my specific titration, it usually is for 7 days) so it returns after a few days.

It really works. It will not make you 100% the same as if you were taking the percs but it helps with anxiety, sleeplessness and overall feeling like crap. My doctor gave me 1.0 milligrams with a refill. She is awesome. Yesterday was my full day 2 from all addictive substances (day 9 from Vicodin) and I had some anxiety late afternoon and evening. Took a pill each time and I was fine. Slept a full 8 hours.

The clonidine does help but be careful. Use it as directed and dont use it to long. Is it for your final taper or are you using it thru out your taper? sounds like you are tapering pretty rapidly. A 50% taper is brutal. With a propper taper the wd is usually pretty minor. Looks like your taper is just prolonging the innevidable. Sounds like you are handling it well tho. I wish you luck. Some people find it tolerable though. I found it best in patch form as the pills ran out and the patch only had to be applied once a week. It did have a calming effect of course and its primary use is for high blood pressure. The side effects to watch out for that I experienced and are relatively common are abnormal heart rhythms, a marked increase in appetite, lowering of sex drive and most importantly depression or other mood changes.

My doc prescribed me some 0.3 clonidine tablets ,he said it would get me thru the nasty WD ,he only gave me a script 4 six of them which is three days worth I'm suppose 2 take 1 n the am & anotha in the pm starting 2morrow 4 the next 3 days&he said I shouldn't experience any WD while. I'm on them ,just the mental part. Which ill b following up with aftercare,has or does anybody out there have any knowledge about this clonidine??????

Sunny, i have never done the patch but I will tell you everyone is different in my honest opinion a piece of the patch may help temp but it will prolong the w/d..Days seem like eternity but once your over this you will be so strong and it will seem like no time at all...Epsom salt baths google thomas recipe drink plenty of water eat soft foods when you can keep busy push through this and most important BREATHE!!

I was prescribed Clonidine for my Fentanyl patch WD symptoms. I think it helped me a little through the first symptoms, but it was a painfull process. I don't think you can ever take all the pain out of WD; it is inevitable. I was told to take it at night, but found it was actually keeping me awake. One of the side effects is insomnia, which is one of the last things I need, so I stopped taking it after a couple of weeks.

Have been getting what they call Hot flashes for over 1 year, mine our Hot Events as it last for days not minutes, I have been using an estogen patch that has been working for 6 months, now it back to happening just like at first every 1 -2 weeks for 1 full day and night, sometimes almost 3 days. I don't know what to do. My gynocologist says i am on the highest dose of the patch. don't know what to do.

I used the clonidine patch .01 and it really helped to calm me down. I did have to invest in a blood pressure machine as since I tend to have low blood pressure, I didn't want to have a problem. I actually had to quit the patch once but then my blood pressure took off again and so I put the patch back on. I think being on the pills would be better because you can monitor your blood pressure and just skip a pill or two if needed.
