Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.

I had to have a root canal redone as my previous dentist did not get the whole nerve and it became infected. The Dentist put me on amoxicillin 875mg twice a day, after 6 days I called him as it was having no effect. he then put me on clyndamycin 300mg twice a day, this is day two, it seemed better this morning and by this afternoon it isswelling slightly the tissue above my tooth is spongie again and I can tell it's filling with pus.
I have had bv for over a year now. I also get the lower pelvic pain and i have different urinary problems that I believe is connected as well. I have been treated three times with metronidazole, and now have a prescription for clindamycin. Do you stabbing pains occasionally in the vaginal area as well?

Took flagyl but I was allergic to I switched to clindamycin. I took that clindesse clindamycin vaginal cream, didn't work!!! Clindamycin HCl tablets for 7 days didn't work!!! Now they want me to take clindamycin HCl for 7 days again!!!??!!!!!! I'm sooooooo confused, frustrated, devastated, im cryinh and all mix nega emotions!!!!

Ive had bv ever since my first check up. like i was 2 months. and now im 4 months. tried flagyl for two days but i stopped cuz i was allergic to it and clindesse as well (vaginal cream) one dose. then i was checked up last july 30th and they called me to say ... I still am positive for BV infection :(( I hope my babys doing fine. I am gonna take clindamycin hcl twice a day for a week. even asked the pharmacist if its really safe. and yeah they all told me its safe to take.
So, firstly how did they diagnose your BV? What test did they use? Usually Garnerella can start the BV but it can be caused by other problems. Which probiotic did you use? You don't use a douche do you? That can cause problems? Did they try using clindamycin? Also, you could have you and your husband both try the antibiotic at the same time since you seem to get it with intercourse. Do you get it if he uses a condom? That would indicate it is getting passed to you back and forth.
For the past 8 months or so I have had bv. I have taken every med you can think of. Even tried boric acid. My main symptom is burning sensation in my V. Sometimes I have discharge with or without an odor. Every time my gyn checks me she does a culture and looks under the microscope. Now the culture always comes back negative. But when she looks under the microscope she she clue cells. I've been tested for stds all came back negative.
I agree with the second post. Sounds like BV. Go to the doctor, ask for a culture and they can give you antibiodics to clear it up.
Also, request the gel if you do have it. Do not take clindamycin or any other harsh antibiodics, they can cause C-diff and other bowel problems.
Its like every month since July I have to take a dose of clindamycin HCl twice a day for seven days... July I took flagyl for two days was allergic to it so they gave me clindesse vaginal cream for my baby! Then august found out I still have it and they have me take this clindanycin HCl tablet. Then august 27th, ugh I still have it!! They're making me take the same ****. Sorry im just a lil bit disappointed nor upset. Yup its clindamycin HCl again for seven days twice a day!
Hi Sarah, BV it will just keep coming back, and may go on for a few years yet, try the natural way, google bv and sea salt, you could also try bv and boric acid, on earthclinic under symptoms you find BV, and apple cider vinegar as a cure or ACV, just some other ways to try.
Who knows one day you will beat it.

So I went to my gyno and she said the yeast was gone but I had BV. Sh gave my flafyl. Finished it but was still itching.she then prescribed me clindamycin vaginal cream.finished that and still no relief. I've tried everything. Probiotics,yougurt, changed toilet paper,only washed with mild soap,etc. I changed my whole routine. Vinegar douches and baths only give me temporary relief. Also I used monistat one last time after the antibiotics since some can give u a yeast infection.
Hi everyone - for the past 2 years I've been getting a bv infection every two or three months. This is not always directly related to sex, although it is common for me to have worse symptoms after intercourse. I talked to my gyno about it, and she recommended daily OTC probiotics which I have been taking for a couple of weeks now, antibiotics work but i only get temporary relief. I was wondering if anyone else has/had frequent bv infections like I do and what you do to prevent them.
I went to the obgyn last week they ran urine samples and std tests and everything was okay, I told them I’m spotting still for two weeks now three and cramping the test came back for BV so they prescribed me Metronidazole I felt way too anxious about taking it , Friday I went in for a ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound I believe and got the results today that it was fine. They now prescribed me clindamycin gel which I will pick up tomorrow due to pharmacy out of stock.
s and they are very similar so most doctors will treat for both if they did not do a culture to actually find out. Treatment for BV is metronidazole or clindamycin (both antibiotics). Ask your Dr. if this could be the problem. There are always bacteria in the vagina but when they get oout of wack you can get BV. Hope this helps!
i think flagyl n clindamycin is not the best chice for treating it..rather flagyl is not the drug of choice at all in vaginosis..mayb the bacteria have become resistant to it cuz u have been prescribed for it often.. causing recurrency..take co-trimoxazole talblets comes in the market with brand name:

what does it mean if my vagina area smells like strong onions all the time? It so bad to the point that when I use the bathroom the smell lingers heavily after I'm done.I don't know what to do, I'm 20 years old and have had this problem since I was 15. It is ruining my sex life so bad that i'm afraid to have sex. In addition I have had bv which is recurring so I don't know if that is the problem.
