Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients.
MANAGEMENT: During concomitant use of these drugs, patients should be monitored for potentially excessive or prolonged CNS and respiratory depression.
I took paxil for a while then switche to citalopram for atleast 6-9 months and I recently got off went to zoloft for 2 weeks then switched to depakote for 4 days an now have stopped everything except for tranquilizer Ativan but I was wondering if I should have withdrawals and for how long or is it all in my head? I feel like I'm out in lala land I'm agitated I'm sad up and down and my head feels cloudy and etc.
Are these 3 days of absolute joy indicative of what I could be like without the medication? I know going off Citalopram cold turkey is dangerous (I learned this accidentally over a year ago)--I nearly lost my marbles and those around me nearly lost their heads! Soooo, my question is this: since I've missed 3 doses and feel fantastic, should I just go with it and quit taking it?
About four days after taking the pills,I experienced a terrible shock.Suddenly my whole body went ice-cold(especially the top of my head),together with strong heart beats and vision impairment.It was like I was dying. Since then my headaches disappeared.Instead something happened to my frontal lobe as if it doesn't function and my depression got worse,and I feel I'm losing touch with reality and myself and I started feeling suicidal.
I cant get the teselon Perle medicine they prescribed for me until tomorrow. I was going to take NyQuil for it but then realized that on the warning it advises against certain anti depressants and I take Citalopram. can i take NyQuil if i have not taken my citalopram in a little over a week? I am coughing so hard that it is giving me a migraine and i cant drink anything or ill pee myself. I cant sleep because every time i lay down the cough gets worse.
It is not at all likely your problem is due to citalopram. With Citalopram (Celexa), experts estimate that it can take up to 10-14 days for the drug to fully leave the body. So there has been none of that medicine for longer than 4.5 years. On the other hand, the indications for this medicine are in a population with high anxiety, hypocondria, and axiety greater than the general population. I would susggest you ask the neurologist to refer you to a neuro-ophthalmologist for evaluation.
i took my first 10 mg dose last night and i feel awful, more anxious than i was before.i want to stop taking this medicine. do you think i will suffer withdrawals after one dose? has anyone had any success with this drug?
My doctor put me on an anxiety medicine (Citalopram/Celexa -20mg) but after taking the first dose I had a terrible reaction to it, I couldn't even keep it down. I know there are probably other medications that I would have better reactions to but I decided to try dealing with my anxiety on my own first. I'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice/ideas for natural or herbal ways to deal with anxiety.
I have been taking Citalopram for about 9 months for anxiety and panic attacks. I still have a hard time just sitting around, I feel like I have to be busy all the time to keep me from wanting to run or jump up and down. I feel figity and cannot sit still. I am on 40 mg. a day.
Hi there...I take Wellbutrin XL (300 mg extended release bupropion) and no I didn't gain weight on it. I have been on differing doses for over 2 years. Also, no loss of sex drive if that is important to you which is a common side effect of most of the other medications used for anxiety.
ve also been experiencing other symptoms at home such as palpitations, hot/cold flashes, fear of dying out of nowhere, constant worry of being okay, and many others. My doctor gave me a prescription for Citalopram 10mg a few weeks ago. I took the medicine for 3 days and I was experiencing loss of appetite, constipation, and dizziness. I told my doctor and was instructed to stop the medication immediately.
i get anxiety about taking the medicine for my depression and anxiety i want fix it with out medicine just therapy not helping. I think thats why my doctor try the zoloft again because i am thinking i am itching and i am not really having reaction to the medicine but he said you do have sentitvie to medicine that why he had a backup medcine for me. my question is anybody taking Zoloft 25mm or Citalopram 20mm before and any side effects from these medicine?
Vit C morning and afternoon, Echinacea 3x a day, honey, ginger n lemon tea, boil some chicken bones in a pot of water with carrot, celery, onion and a splash of vinegar for 24 hours then strain and drink a cup 2-3 times a day. These all work WAY quicker for me to relieve and cure a cold than any medicine I've found.
I wouldn't think there would be any reason that you couldn't take the cold medicine and I doubt they would cancel the procedure since it's only a needle Bx ... BUT I would call the Radiology Dept. early in the morning just to be sure. Every Physician and Institution has different requirements ... it would be best to call very early just to be sure.
