Let me get this straight. You have a psychiatrist who took you off an antidepressant in just one week? And isn't dealing with the withdrawal problem? The minimum taper should have been six weeks from my experience. You also should research Buspar. See if you think it actually works much of the time. And if your anxiety is related to the heart problem, the beta blocker should theoretically at least have solved that problem.

i was diagnosed with sleep insomnia, ptsd, panic disorder, and major depresive disorder a little over a yr. ago. at first, the dr's just had me on a low dose of zoloft to see if it would help. tho it did help with the depression and a little with the anxiety, i still couldn't sleep. after raising the dose of my zoloft a few more times, and trying seroquil, the dr's finally put me on ambien when i couldn't sleep.

I gained about 30 lbs on Citalopram. I work out and eat healthy. I just saw a new doctor and he believes the Citalopram is causing my weight gain. I have been on it for about 18 months. I am now taking half a pill of Citalopram in order to wean myself off of it. My doctor then prescribed me Bupropion HCL (take twice a day). He says that should help with weight loss. The combination of drugs, citalopram that is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor and amphetamine and dextroamphetamine that are dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor is not recommended. Once again just as focalin did this made me very sick last night causing the palor and tremor just as focalin had. I experienced twitches and insomnia last night got 2 hours of sleep but and 5 the night before but am awake but i feel terrible. I really need some educated advice on some proper medication choices to talk with my doctor about. I can't focus to any extent without the ADD medication but the side effects i am getttting arn't worth it.

I just have a quick question about antidepressants and state of mind. Combining Alprax and Citalopram can cause central nervous system and respiratory depressant effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. Please discuss with your doctor for alternate medications. Hi, I am 20 years old and for the past three months or so i have had chest pains, feeling like I am going to die any second, and its hard for me to get a good sleep. And with chest pain also comes costocondritis (my doctor said) and i have had ekgs, holter monitor, chest xray, and blood work several times and everything came back fine. I was wondering if anxiety can cause my chest pain off and on during the week.

i have been prescribed 10 mg of Citalopram for depression today and 40 mg of beta blocker propanolol 3 times a day i stat them all tomorrow i also struggle to sleep and have spare zopiclones 7.5 mg left from a while ago i forgot to ask the doc can i take zopiclone at night to sleep??

There are many sleep aids to help you sleep at night if you are having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. Ask your doctor about these sleep aids. Its best not to eat anything within an hour of going to sleep either.

Wake up at least 4 times a night having change my gown and sheets. No sleep in 6 months wears you down. Trying herbal supplements but no help. Do NOT want go back on anti depressants. I took the 20mg citalopram for about 4 days and could not sleep and also started to develop this aching pain in my ribs, sternum and across my chest. I stopped taking the citalopram yesterday and I am hoping that the pains will go away, but my stomach still hurts and I am still constipated. Every time I go to the bathroom only a little bit comes out, but it doesn't hurt or anything. I am also still really gassy and I have lost my appetite for the most part.
