t been on anything for two weeks, I feel the anxiety creeping back and have headaches and nausea. He gave me a Prescription for Wellbutrin, will this help with the weight loss? Will I be able to the weight or does it permanently change your metabolism?Now that I am over weight it is not helping with my self image. I do feel I need some medication to help with my anxiety is this a good choice? Are the side effects minimal?

I think thats why my doctor try the zoloft again because i am thinking i am itching and i am not really having reaction to the medicine but he said you do have sentitvie to medicine that why he had a backup medcine for me. my question is anybody taking Zoloft 25mm or Citalopram 20mm before and any side effects from these medicine? also any tips on controling my anxiety and depression ?

I have been newly dignose with HIV and have a T cell count of 701 and a viral load of 8 thousand and something I have also been dignose with depression a year ago. I gained about 30 lbs on Citalopram. I work out and eat healthy. I just saw a new doctor and he believes the Citalopram is causing my weight gain. I have been on it for about 18 months. I am now taking half a pill of Citalopram in order to wean myself off of it. My doctor then prescribed me Bupropion HCL (take twice a day). He says that should help with weight loss. Has anyone had good experiences with Bupropion? Did you gain weight on Citalopram? Thanks!!!

i have had depression for 5 years and am treated with citalopram 40mg at times i get such bad anxiety and nausea and dizziness icant really connect it to any depressive episodes though i do feel sick when my nerves are bad also does anyone know how to wean yourself off medication very slowly

Common side effect when starting are nausea and dizziness. High blood pressure, sweating, tremors, shaking are definitely a bad reactions and might also occur with a SNRI. You can try but i think this bad reaction can be avoided with Lyrica or Neurotin but who knows, you could have a bad reaction too but they mechanisms of action are totally different from the SNRIs and SSRIs. Please consider that I'm not a doctor nor a pharmacist and those issues must be discussed with you doctor.

I'm 24, since Dec. 14th I've been having lightheadedness and nausea and I've went in to the hospital twice for palpitations and anxiety. I am on xanax and citalopram (which I just started) and therapy (which I just started). Three days ago I started feeling worse, medically. I wake up early each morning in a panic with some lose bowel issues and dry heaves or vomiting. The last three days it has been worse!! Combining Alprax and Citalopram can cause central nervous system and respiratory depressant effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. I tried Celexa for a few months and noticed no difference in my mood/anxiety and did not experience any side effects. But, everyone is different. Almost EVERY medication lists all those side effects, because well everyone reacts differently. In my opinion start out with a smaller dose to see if it bothers you and if it doesnt after a few days you could increase it to the prescribed dose.

Hi Sorry to burst your bubble but you will suffer withdrawals mine took a few weeks to kick in I came off effexor. But I know my group that Citalopram is not easy to come off you would be better going back on it and weaning off slowly follow cita's withdrawal programme my support group they are on the web.

Let me get this straight. You have a psychiatrist who took you off an antidepressant in just one week? And isn't dealing with the withdrawal problem? The minimum taper should have been six weeks from my experience. You also should research Buspar. See if you think it actually works much of the time. And if your anxiety is related to the heart problem, the beta blocker should theoretically at least have solved that problem.
