The best antibiotic is probably amoxicillin or clindamycin. Ciprofloxacin would work. I don't usually prescribe bactrim. I don't really prescribe ciprofloxacin either.
After 9 days of taking ciprofloxacin I went to a virologist and he have me Bactrim F which I have been taking for 5 days but still very little improvement. Pain has sort of moved more from testicles to urethra. Im very desperate and my body and mind are exhausted from this ordeal. Any help and information would be greatly appreciated.
I was diagnosed with a bladder infection and a vaginal infection. I assume its bacterial vaginosis because my doctor prescribed Bactrim and Metrogel. But because I have Raynaud's Syndrome, I can't use Metrogel. So my doctor has now prescribed Cipro. But how would either one help with the vaginosis? And as for the bladder infection, couldn't I just take one because they both treat UTIs?

The dr told me i had a UTI and I was given BACTRIM SULFAMETHOXALE. The antibiotic worked well, but a few days later the infection came back. Then i took ciprofloxacin, and the same thing happend. I have given up on antibiotics and to manage this I always drink lots of water, but a few weeks later I started getting testicular pain during urination. Could this be epididymitis?
I was recently diagnosed with a kidney infection, my right flank pain is still present and I still have spouts of feeling ill after taking 3 doses of my perscribed Anti-biotic (ciprofloxacin). My doctor told me that I should feel better within 24 hours so I was wondering if this is normal or if it is something I should be conserned about. How long after taking medication will my pain go away?
s, He put me on Ciprofloxacin (1 500mg Twice a day) for 10 days, He nor the Parmacy informed me that an interaction would be caused with my Thyroid medication, I found this out after the fact, I have pasted a link to the article here:

t have any problem. Now, Iam using Tablets from doctor priscription i.e., CIPROFLOXACIN(CIFRAN-500mg). So, is it cure the infection. Please reply me soon I haven't done sex with my wife since last 4months due to infection.

He diagnosed prostatitis and put me on ciprofloxacin for 10 days. He also did urinalysis and nothing came up reactive. WBC normal. Everything normal. So my question is, is my condition likely prostatitis or should I be concerned with an NGU that is not chlamydia? I have a girlfriend who I am concerned about spreading something to. Many thanks!

I’ve lost weight but not a lot maybe 4 or 5 pounds, the original antibiotic Ciprofloxacin killed my appetite and caused burning pains in my joints and muscles. When I switched to bactrim the pains lessened by a huge difference but they still are there. On a scale they’ve went from an 8 to a 2. I’ve had panic attacks as well as insomnia, but I’ve realized the insomnia was occurring before the sexual encounter. Since the switch and the oral thrush medication my appetite has returned.
Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim or Septra) and ciprofloxacin (Cipro) are commonly used. Other antibiotics that may be used include: Carbenicillin, Erythromycin, Nitrofurantoin,
Tetracycline. Most antibiotics do not get into the prostate tissue well.
I was given bactrim and azithromycyn at this time. I was also teste dfor various things, which came back gonnorhea. Byt he time the tests came back i was given Ceftriaxone injection which apparently cures gonnorhea. I have 4 lots of tests since all come back negative for any STDs.
However, my urethra tip is still red (albeit not too bad), and there is inside the urethra if you open it moisture and small white specks so to speak.
You have also been treated with Flagyl (metronidazole), Ceftin, Bactrim and now are taking ciprofloxacin.
My assessment. Your exposure was low risk and you have had negative tests for the most common STDs as well as a variety of antibiotics, none of which are recommended therapy for the most common STD infections if you had been infected. The most common infection to occur following an exposure of the sort you describe in NGU, for which recommended therapy is either a single 1.
Thanks a lot doctor. It was bactrim. but here is the thing.... I resumed having sex with my husband the next day after the first exposure.... so does it mean i could of accidently treated my conditions and pass it to him at the same time????
Went to a doctor about eight months ago and he did a culture to prostatic fluid. Treated for 1-2 months with Bactrim. Symptoms got better, but then came back.
Finally, a month and a half ago, went to a different urologist; explained my story. He assumed I had persistent chlamydia in the prostate, but no test. Prescribed doxycyclene 3 times daily for a month, and after a month, said to stay on 1 doxycyclene per day for a month.

You should get yourself treated with doxycycline, alpha blocker such as tamsulosin and continue ciprofloxacin. In addition I advise all my patients to sit in lukewarm water for 15 minutes morning and evening.
Prostatitis is a difficult disease to treat and you should be patient and give sometime to your urologist.
2 months ago I tested positive for a urinary tract infection, was put on bactrim, 2 weeks later I went back with the same burning, pressure and pain, they said it was not all the way gone, put me on cipro.
The symptoms subsided for a week or so then I got a pain in my right side, at this point i went to the doctor had a prostate exam and he told me I had a swollen prostate and my symptoms were in fact that of prostatitis which can occur in a male of my age.
Now about the sulfa antibiotics, i assume you are on Bactrim, there are cases of Bacterial resistance, so call your doctor and tell him that the pain is still there and it is not getting better and he may prescribe you a Quinolone (Ciprofloxacin). Hope this helps.
I took approximatley 3 different courses of Bactrim over that time period. Every time I took Bactrim, I had the same allergy, inflammation on the head of the penis. I finally put it together that this allergy occurred when I took Bactrim. Needless to say, whenever I am asked be medical personnel if I am allergic to any meds, Bactrim goes on the list.
